Ikea seem to have declined significantly over the last few years. I had multiple issues with my order delivery and in the end have had to just accept that I didn't get everything I paid for. The c... See more

Horrible service
Horrible service. What happened to u guys. U used to be a top store. Now service is practically non existent. 4 phone calls I had to make with wait times between an hour to hour and a half to talk to someone to clear up the mess u made of my order and delivery. I was told u can only book delivery three days ahead. So if I want it a week later I can’t do it. Guy didn’t call me back at appointed time for booking the delivery. New person didn’t know if I needed cover for side of cabinet or not. Told it would all fit on backseat of my car so in desperation decided to drive for an hour and go pick it up myself at a store. Get there to find it was HUGE and two pieces didn’t fit in car. Car was loaded full to top. Finally the store sorted me a delivery for the next day for the two pieces too big for the car. Kitchens couldn’t do delivery from store for me as they told me and the distribution centre was out of stock of the products. What a mess. They should be able to deliver from any store metro to my house. Horrible disgusting service. It took me over an hour to drive home with a full boot. Your customer service Dept have no idea and wait times are disgusting. Hire way more staff and better training. I have been a customer for years and never seen a mess like this from u guys. Need better managers also and a new faster and better phone and booking system. Thank God the store was on the ball.
In my opinion
In my opinion, their customer support is a joke (a really bad one). I contacted IKEA (named Sonan) to say that I can’t collect my order #194140116 today because I am sick, and they told me that they would cancel my order?! and, if I want buy from them I should do all the purchasing process again. Really? What type of business is this. The person also said that I am welcome to raise complaints?!
Okay
Okay
If you want something to look good for 5 mins and never be moved or changed then ikea is great. But if you want something to last then maybe look elsewhere

I visited the Logan Ikea store today…
I visited the Logan Ikea store today Tuesday 25 October 2022. Basically, I chose a design code sent to my phone with a price of $1020. The staff member checked prior to me loading the items downstairs that all the items were in stock, so I proceeded to load up.
Upon finally loading, the door fronts which I needed 6 of unfortunately there was only 3 in stock, although the IKEAS system said they had 12 in stock.
Then I asked to see one of the floor staff. I asked him if he could assist me in locating the 3 remaining items i needed for my order, as there should have been 9 remaining . He was direct and basically said it was a cash-and-carry store and he couldn't source where the other stock was. He checked the system and said another consignment was due in a few day's time. I said was it ok to pay the $1020 for the complete item and could they please send me the remaining 3 doors by courier when they arrive, again he became obstructive when I asked if the remaining 3 doors could be delivered free of charge as they can't find them in the store, again he said no, by this time, I am becoming frustrated that they only reply he could give was no! you have to pay for the delivery regardless.
I asked if I could speak to the manager. He called her and a deputy manager arrived and she was equally, if not more obstructive with no compromise whatsoever. I then tried calling Ikea who said they couldn't speak to me about a complaint unless it was through email. The only thing I was asking for, is that from a $1020 order which I could take in my car and because they couldn't find the remaining 3 doors, although Ikeas system said they were in stock, could they please send the 3 doors through a courier at their cost. This is appalling customer service and I believe social media needs to know what the Logan IKEA store represents in customer service which is incompetent unreasonable staff, who have very few customer service skills.
Poorly designed cheap product…
Purchased a storage box for our front door to store shoes. Very poorly made needs two people to line up slats and pre-drilled holes were misaligned. The manufacturer saved a small amount of timber that created extreme difficulty in assembly. Banned my wife from returning to the store - Poorly designed and cheap.
Bad service
Last 2 times my wife and I've been in Ikea the service was terrible. It was hard to find people to help and when you did they would answer your question with, "They're around there or they're downstairs' no offers to show you or they'd say ask someone in the other department. Last time we went in found 3 things we really liked adding up to about $800 so went down to the market hall where the items are supposed to be kept nothing. Then asked about them very little help again. Today my wife wanted some cushions she saw last time, so we looked around asked a woman with a habib and all she said was they're downstairs, no directions or anything. We saw some little wooden boxes we liked went down stairs. Took a while to find someone as we couldn't find them. Then I found a young guy. Very nice and polite, but wasn't willing to help at all. "I said so you can't help me then" and he just grinned and walked away. It will be a long time before we go back there. They missed out on sales of around $1k or more.
Branded products replaced with Rubbish
All their kitchen and cupboard hinges have been replaced to cheap rubbish which are worse than the 1980s hinges we threw out. They went from european built hinges to junk built hinges.
Ikea has replaced heaps of branded products they use to sell to now their own home brand rubbish including their kitchen appliances and many more products.
BTW price is'nt any cheaper either.
TABLE missing, and fake dates of delivery
We bought a table for our new home, they should have delivery at 04 august, but some parts of it is missing, it is 14 august and they did not delivery, even, they told us they will delivery on sunday, we did not go out because of this and now, they just didn't appear. HORRIBLE TO TALK WITH THEM TO SAY THIS TOO, more than 1 hour every time
Don’t buy anything online from ikea
Was supposed to pick up orders today but woke with covid. Spent 30 minutes online cause it said I could change the date of collection, it wouldn’t let me. Before that I called them and hung up after 20 minutes and now I’ve called again and have been on hold 40 minutes.
This is the first and last time I buy anything from this company who obviously doesn’t care once they have our money. I’ve been told 4 times in the past 20 minutes I only have to wait 5 more minutes.
Express returns
A long wait of 45 mins in the express returns, only 2-3 staff who didn’t seem to be concerned about customers waiting, were serving 15 customers retuning their products and took their sweet time to put away returns rather than quickly serving another customer, lack of empathy and excellent customer service skills
Ikea deleted me and my Ikea Family Membership
December 2018, I stopped receiving Ikea emails. They claimed to have sent me an email to ask me to confirm activation of my Ikea Family Membership. Then they deleted my entire account history. Speaking with Ikea Support, they took any and every opportunity to blame me for not reading my email that I never got. They cite the T's and C's which say they can delete a membership at any time without notice. I was told that they had to do a cleanup of their system, and because my account was inactive for 3 years, and inactive accounts like mine were "taking up too much space on their system". So basically, my relationship, costing them about 3 kilobytes of database storage was too expensive for their liking? Now I have no proof of any product I ever purchased, because I don't have my old credit card statements and I didn't keep the paper receipts given that they claim you can access your purchase history from them. They blame me for forgetting to swipe my membership card, but in reality when you go there, the queues are so busy, and you have children with you nagging at you, who would want to be that person that holds up the queue by opening up the app, and having to sign into the app, just to swipe a loyalty card. Staff don't remind you to swipe it. Now I'm somehow to be blamed? So I'm wondering what ever was the point in joining the Ikea Family Membership program. They can and will delete your membership at any time and without feeling obliged to give you any warning. Certainly not treated like family. It is false advertising for Ikea to refer it to a 'Family' membership, as in the real world, you cannot cancel a family member. In Ikea world, 'Family' just means they reserve the right to send you thousands of marketing emails but won't actually safely hold your proof of purchases for you or offer you any discounts.
PRODUCT ASSEMBLY- NO SHOW. Explanation- nobody accepted the job.
I purchased a TV bench from IKEA and paid over $100 for assembly. Was given a time frame of 6.30 to 4.30 on 2 May. Took the whole day off. NO ONE SHOWED. There was no phone call or notification to inform me that nobody would be coming. When I later managed to get hold of a service operator from IKEA, I was informed that nobody took the job. I live 5 minutes out of the Adelaide CBD.
It appears that they take your money for an assembly service, then maybe an outside contractor will pick up your job and maybe they wont. If nobody picks up the job, they don't make the effort to contact you to let you know. I was the one who phoned at the end of the day when nobody showed.
Terrible service for online deliveries
Terrible service for online deliveries. Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. Cannot get through on online chat.
The delivery company chosen by IKEA does not send an sms on the morning of delivery with a 4 hour delivery window as promised by IKEA on its website. The company sends an email with a 10 hour delivery window. I waited home all day for the delivery and only received half of the boxes and then waited home all day the next day for the other half.
I won't be buying from IKEA again.
Terrible customer service
You have to wait hours to talk or chat to someone, sold me an install service that’s not available in my area and now i am chasing a refund but can’t talk to a human and non option to leave an offline message or email. Have to waste a half day to get my money back !! I thought Telstra was bad !
Very bad customer service
I thought IKEA was a very professional and excellent service provider regarding furnitures.
I had ordered a bed along with some seperate parts (which I do not really know why they are sold seperately, a very stupid logic if you ask me) and they have sent me the wrong parts, which is understandable. I told them about this and said they can send the right parts and take the wrong ones, but its gonna be really late like after 10 or 14 days. But I needed the bed before that. They sent people to pick it up today and they would not take the boxes they sent it with. They did not even consider to take the boxes at all.
Now I am waiting for the refund, if I don't get a full refund for it. Another bad review is all I can do as a customer.
Overall, very bad service. I will never buy from them again. Lesson learned.
I buy at least 9 flatpack kitchens per…
I buy at least 9 flatpack kitchens per year. Instore staff are fantastic. Ikea delivery (ANC) is pathetic. They turn up outside of the agreed booking timeframes without any calls as promised, and then deliver damaged goods which I have to spend hours on the phone to have rectified. Most of the time I give up & buy replacement as its easier.
Last deliveries, ANC they have missed 4 times, whilst sending text all day. Still no delivery
Getting in touch with Ikea by phone, don't bother unless you have a spare 1 continuous hour. The staff can't help you as ANC (the courier) cant tell them anything, so Ikea staff just apologise..
Don't bother trying to find a way to do it online. theres no way.
Waiting for 20 days now for a considerable sized refund, still nothing after contacting them by email..
They take you money fast & delivery only a promise. This has to be somehow a consumer law breech as I didn't purchase a promise.
i live in an isolated area and need to…
i live in an isolated area and need to have goods transported from Perth. There is no customer service and no clear explanation on the website about how to arrange for pick or delivery to a transport centre. any attempt to speak to customer service requires at least 40 minutes wait time, the virtual chat is incomprehensible, so far for this order i have wasted almost a whole day trying to negotiate their system and complete lack of service. the phone operator whilst i am holding on for 50 minuteskeeps saying go to the website and join the ikea family, the website is no use and there is no such thing as an ikea family and if there is it is totally disfunctional
poor customer service
I ordered online 2 weeks ago. never received dispatch email or anything. I tried calling and no one picked up the phone. I canceled my order and am waiting to get my money back now.

There should be a sign out the front of the store. Those who suffer from anxiety, do not enter unaccompanied.
Another rule, take the article you buy out of the box to inspect it, whilst in the store.. Make sure the article is fit for use.
