DO NOT USE!!!!! DATA PROTECTION WORRIES FROM MY EXPERIENCE ONLY
Terrible experience, have been left feeling very unsettled and worried. Took a week to fix my phone, on collecting the young man said make sure you put your sim back in, I advised him I had not taken it out as I did not even know where it was/how to. He said oh we must have mislaid it, opened the safe and took out another phone and said oh this is aTesco mobile I must have put your sim in someone else's phone, lets keep that between ourselves shall we he said. On taking the phone away I had to work whilst waiting for a ferry, the message came up "top up your pay as you go" he had in actual fact given me someone else's sim (confirmed by Tesco mobile)and it seems like someone else could possible now have mine. This was very frustrating as I lost a whole day of work calls. I have now had to get new sim, cancel old one. On calling the shop today Monday 30/09/24 as I had not heard from them the same young man said why would I call you if I had not found it, He didn't need the other persons pay as you go sim back, his colleague's are all on holiday so he cannot ask them what they have done with my sim, I could not have a refund as a way of an apology without him asking his boss ( who I have since found out is Richard Platt) After a 2 minute call he said I cant do this now and put the phone down on me. I feel the young man is covering his tracks so that his boss does not find out. Asking to speak to Richard he is apparently away for 2 weeks.............so Richard if you read this please contact me to discuss. I will be reporting IFIX to the ICO as all repair shops should ask their customers to take out their sim cards on arrival if they have not done so already and should not loose them if they do come across them!!!!! I have not filled out the contact form on the IFIX website as I feel the young man may delete this

Brilliant service

Brilliant service! Safely removed my broken camera screen protector right there and then - no charge! Very happy to help me - even knowing I didn’t need to purchase another one from him. Thank you so much ☺️

I fix local, isle of wight

I visited i fix local, in Newport isle of Wight, last year with an electronic fault in my instrument cluster of my car, as soon as i walked into the shop, i was greeted with the enthusiasm of the staff, who genuinely wanted to solve my problem, i explained the fault and they immediately started to examine the problem, they fixed it within a few hours, at a very reasonable price and it has worked ever since, i was very pleased and will continue to use them for all my electronic problems

Ifix in Newport Isle of Wight

Ifix in Newport Isle of Wight.

Great service. Quick and efficient.
After being told by Currys Isle of Wight branch that my, less than 3 months old, iPad was unfixable, that it was my fault so it was not under guarantee, I decided as a last hope to try Ifix in Newport. 2 Wonderful guys working there detected that it was a faulty charging cable that had been delivered with my IPad by Currys.
Thank you Curry’s for your disgusting, rude and inefficient service. NEVER again will I purchase anything from them. I have a long list of electrical things that I shall be buying in the near future but not one penny will be spent at Curry’s.

This is a mixed review as I have used…

This is a mixed review as I have used iFixlocal in Ryde on two previous occasions without issue (but I wont again).

I dropped my Samsung phone off on Monday 23rd March last year (2020) just before the Covid lockdown, following a new screen being ordered for it on Saturday 21st March.

However, due to the lockdown, a replacement screen was unable to be fitted and the phone was returned to me a few weeks later, as it was still useable..albeit with the same cracked screen.

I did not receive a refund for the £90 (cash only obviously), and am still out of pocket over a year later, with emails being ignored - when I called they asked me to email.

I appreciate times are hard, and they probably need the £90 more than me, but I'm writing this review purely on principle that theft is wrong.

I used Ifixlocal for the first time to…

I used Ifixlocal for the first time to replace the cahrge port of my ipad 12.9 pro. It is a work that not everoby does because the screen is so bisg that is very easy to crack in the process of removing it.
I sent the item on Tuesday and on Saturday (same week!) I got my iPad back working as it should.
And for a third of the price I have been asked from many other places.
Also, what made a big difference, was that they phoned me up when they received the iPad and they informed me about how the work was progressing...which is not something to take for granted. Not may do this.
I could not be happier .

Poor Service. Poor Communication

Unhappy with the service. Weren't able to fix my tablet but returned it to me without telling me this. Still charged me £140 .00 for the privilege although the charge did include some other data extraction from some mobile phones I had. They insist on being paid cash so I was unable to seek redress through my credit card which I would have used if it were possible

IPHONE BATTERY REPLACEMENT

IPHONE BATTERY REPLACEMENT - DON’T BUY GENERIC REPLACEMENTS!
I have ruined two iPhones (5s & 6) by purchasing replacement batteries in two different IFix shops. With both phones I saved about £10 (compared with an Apple Shop) and for a while the phones were fine. In both cases within 6 months the battery started to swell and push up on the screen. You could see this by looking at the phone’s edge. Also both phones started to misbehave - sudden drop to red from around 50% charge and switching off.
These shops only offer 1 month warranty on batteries!
My advice? ONLY FIT GENUINE APPLE BATTERIES AT AN APPLE SHOP
