Slow service

I too am waiting for my pension and as I have now left work its my sole income. I rang and left my number numerous times and didn't get any call back. I managed to speak to 1 lady who I actually had faith in but still find it unbelievable I can't get a date for when I will receive my cash lump sum. Suggest more training on systems for some employees and a more clear time line.

Shocking Company

I am honestly shocked by how this company is run and that they are allowed to get away with it by the financial ombudsman. They are holding on to my pension that should be in my possession. You cannot speak to anyone. They cut you off asking for your details and they will call you back, but the calls are never returned. How is this even legal?

You can stand, but they won’t deliver your pension.

They are holding up my Scottish Enterprise pension like it’s their money. They have a program of delays that they seem to employ - you submit all the forms, all is well. Weeks later, the day after my pension & lump sum were due paid, suddenly my “ID picture wasn’t clear”. Why are they only examining it the day after my pension is due? I duly redo their ID process. Days later “oh, now we will need to requote” - it’s a defined benefit scheme, the agreed figures can’t change.
Calls are hung up, emails are sent at 4:59.
Delay delay delay. No money.
I want my pension.
I’ve already earned it, I don’t want to work any harder for it.
Review replies on here are “oh now you have a contact point” as if that solves anything.
I want my money. I never want to deal with you again.

I have been trying to get my Kerry…

I have been trying to get my Kerry Foods pension from Hymans Robertson since last year (2025). I received the original paperwork, chose my option, signed & returned the forms. My ID was sent electronically & acknowledged. I was told my lump sum would be paid on 1 Jan 2026. When it didn't appear in my bank account I contacted Hymans Robertson only to be told that, actually no... they weren't PAYING my Kerry Foods pension, they were RECALCULATING the offer. Why? No explanation. But not to worry (!), the new forms would be out soon & once I returned them FOR THE SECOND TIME, my pension would be paid in the April payroll. When I queried whether the new calculations might reduce the amount of the lump sum I had already agreed on, I was told (by the bloke whose name was at the bottom of the letter) that of course not...
On my most recent calls with the team in March, I was told that my new pension forms had been sent out to me on 18 February 2026. But they never appeared. When I rang to ask what was going on, I was told that they hadn't been sent but, no worries, they were working on it (only no longer in time for the April Payroll) and they would be emailed across to me. And that's where we are. No email. No pension.
This appears to be Hymans Robertson's modus operandi... phonecalls, emails & voicemails either get no response, misinformation (disinformation?) or a new explanation that offers hope of a resolution but just leads to the same old result - the offer I ACCEPTED & RETURNED last year has NOT been paid (as it is contractually obliged to be on behalf of my former employer). Instead I am still OWED the lump sum I agreed last year plus a full year of pension payments that i have not received. All the people i speak to are perfectly nice on the phone but their systems are clearly broken.

Terrible - Update

The Hymans Robertson Group are terrible at responding to calls, email messages, contact forms.

Over 70 calls to them in the last two weeks and every time "your call is very important to us, we're busy with other customers" before getting cut off. Complete BS.

I do think they may be in financial difficulty, so be vary wary before giving them your money, they've got my TP pension and are reluctant or unable to pay out.

Update - Hymans claim that I've submitted a report to the wrong company. Incorrect, it may be a different divison but they are related, both run by the same managing partner. Still 10 days after the submisson i am having issues getting a resonse / money. When I get a resolution I will consider improving.

This company is beyond shocking

This company is beyond shocking. I have been trying to conclude the affairs of my late father who was a member of the BSS Group Pension Scheme and the experience is utter rubbish, especially at a time when support is really needed. Like all other reviews, phone calls are not returned, emails go unanswered, wrong documents are sent and even the wrong process was enacted for a bereavement (their words, not mine). Even the direct contact I was given after making an initial complaint is now not responding! Based on what I read of other reviews I will be pointing the Pension Ombudsman to look at this company, my experience and the reviews on TrustPilot. Will also consider a report to BBC Radio 4 You and Yours show. I will also contact Travis Perkins (owners of BSS Group) to make them aware of the entirely shoddy and unacceptable pension administrator they have appointed.

Zero Customer service

Really slow at replying if at all, I’ve sent numerous emails and left messages for a call back to no avail. They had been in touch weeks ago stating everything was settled and would be in touch SHORTLY with a payment date, I’m still waiting and haven’t heard a thing since, very frustrating when no one will reply or call back. Disappointing for a big Company!

I have been trying to call and email…

I have been trying to call and email since November 2025, regarding taking my pension in April 2026.
I cannot get any response.
Given the negative reviews I am seeing I am extremely concerned that this company is in financial difficulty.
Update I have not received my pension. I have tried calling over 10 times sent an email and still nothing.
I think we should report them to the pension ombudsman, Martin Lewis, and the newspapers as this is unacceptable. We paid into the pension over a number of years and when we need our money we are not getting it.
It is time for action

Impossible to contact

My husband has been trying to contact you for over two weeks to take his pension, but no-one answers the phone, replies to emails, or calls back.

This is frustrating! We want to try to sort this out before tax year end since it was due out last Autumn!

He has now emailed the email address you give on here in the hope that someone does something

Edit: I have amended my review since we have now had a call back and been promised a retirement pack that should have been sent in August.

Nobody answers the phones or contacts me after I leave messages

I have been phoning and leaving messages throughout January 2026 to speak with an advisor about a paymnet owed to me. Nobody has answered the phone or contacted me back. I am really quite disappointed and frustrated. I feel as though the company is avoiding me and may potentially be keeping the money for their own benefit. Communication is everything
Update mid-,February '26 - they never did contact me... I find this shocking and basically rude. Happily though, the money they owed was in fact paid at the end of January.... but what a way to treat clients .
I'm very glad that I'll never have to deal with them again.

What is going on with this company.

What is going on with this company.
I have a pension with them and they have lost part of it to the prudential, who are the company which has really lost it so I have to settle for less in my lamp sum and less in my yearly ammount. The rest when they find it will be sent to me as s lum sum which then will be taxed again, this I am not happy about and will push for compensation from them for three incompitence.

Possibly the worst organisation to ever exist. By a mile.

My sentiments are the same as everyone else’s. This company is incompetent, unaccountable and untrustworthy. I have been trying to transfer my pension out to another provider for a year and have found it the single most worst experience of a company I have ever had to deal with. They stonewall you and the other provider so what could be a simple process is a strung out infuriation that results in the trying to charge another £500 to revalue the pension, because the initial value has expired as they are utterly incompetent, and then they reduce the value of the pension. It stinks of scandal and would not be surprised it a deliberate ploy. They lie through their teeth to you to pass the blame onto yourself or the other provider and it can be proven, but they don’t care. They should be shut down. I’m just sorry more people are suffering at their hands and are to suffer still because they have not yet had to deal with them. Please don’t respond asking me to email you either I want nothing more to do with you, and don’t need another 12 months of stress, lies and incompetency.

Absolutely awful company to deal with

Absolutely awful company to deal with. Getting to talk to anyone on the phone is really hit and miss. They don’t contact you when they say they are going to. When you do talk to someone they are just are saying what you want to hear and do nothing about it . Stay away from Hymans Robertson. This company should be prosecuted because they are doing whatever it takes to hold on to your money and basically ignoring the person who has a right to it . absolutely criminal

No response.3 years Nd counting

What I've noticed before I start is im glad there is a space to air my concerns because I've seen with my own eyes what these companies are doing the most to not only avoid customers but either block forums or actually take your comments down with no considering to the customer
I too have been keep at the edge of my seat waiting for a reply.after sending out form after form after form .then told I sent the wrong form .I had to stop and think im looking for something you asked for and now it's wrong then no one tells you it's wrong.you got to scrape the answer when they can be asked to send a reply at the end of day on a Friday
Mums been dead for 3 years!!!! 3 YEARS !!!!!! IT was so long I forgot about it and only reminded them about me .mind you now it just feels like a game at this this point.someone said it earlier. Your missing with people's lives here.if after all the stress to know there Is a light at the end would be a blessing. But it feels like your laughing at us playing with our money that belongs to us.this has to be taken seriously. The government isn't helping and Brent is about as usual as sin .so im a sitting duck holding on waiting for someone to sort this out but nothing.its like what can we get him to fill out and send on the only link that has to be emailed over.its all set up.we the people have to sit and take it .there is no help.no support.i literally write this hoping someone would see there are genuine reasons as to why I have been emailing and getting intouch but anything incoming .anything that is owed is always dealt with such a snail pace .I shouldn't have to beg for what's mine and made to feel like im being played with.your not my parents .I thought this supposed to be a service to the public.you should all be ashamed. Im sure when you all had deaths you didn't have to put up with all this.its just the big corporate giants up to the same tricks again.and the cycle continues.

Another very dissatisfied customer

I have suffered a similar fate at the hands of Hymans Robertson as most other of your reviewers. Their customer service levels really suck. I have been trying to obtain my regular pension payments from this organisation for 6 months now and I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Firstly, there was no communication from them whatsoever at the time I retired, even though they acknowledge in all their documentation that my normal retirement date was in June 2025. After a battle to obtain the correct contact details for the scheme I am connected to due to the total lack of any information on their website, I contacted them to find out what was going on. It then took them well over a month to send me my projected benefits and instructions how to proceed, which required me to confirm that I wanted to receive my pension payments....well, duh!!! I was then instructed that I needed to send them numerous documents electronically using their dreadful software, which didn't even provide an acknowledgement that the documents had been successfully submitted. A few more weeks went by before they advised me that I had failed to submit one document, which I duly did using the same awful software process. More time passed, and then I was advised I would need to electronically submit ID information using another piece of software....this required me to supply photographs using my phone. Unfortunately the software didn't work as it was unable to detect the camera function on my phone, even though it is a late model iPhone. I then tried my wife's phone, which is the same model of phone and, lo and behold, the camera was detected....however, yes you guessed it, after several more weeks of silence my ID was then rejected. The reasons for rejection weren't given, so this meant I had no idea how to submit the ID any differently. Anyhow, I persevered, assuming the rejection was because of the use of my wife's phone, I tried my phone again, only for it to be rejected again for the same reason, so I tried using the camera function on my laptop. I am now in this period of radio silence again, have been waiting for a further few more week having no idea whether my ID has been accepted. I strongly suspect that Hymans Robertson will now come up with yet another excuse to refuse my submission and delay things even further, and I am very strongly suspicious about their motives for introducing these delays. Throughout the process, I have been regularly calling or e-mailing this company.....it is very rare to get through to anybody, and on the rare occasions I have managed to speak to their staff, they come across as very flippant, non-caring and totally unable to deal with the problem there and then...they just refer you back to their infernal process and dodgy software. Phone calls are frequently not answered, and then you are invited to leave your details, with a promise from them that they will call back...I have left several voicemails and on no occasion have Hymans Robertson had the courtesy to stick to their promise and call back. E-mails are ignored, or if they do respond, it tends to take them at least two weeks, which is just appalling in this day and age. So, I still feel I am miles away from getting these payments being paid, shocking to think this is MY MONEY. I can't believe my former employer that are a very highly regarded and long-standing British company engaged the services of such a dreadful company as Hymans Robertson to administer the pension scheme. My next port of call will be the Citizens Advice Bureau (apparently the FCA do not deal with complaints from individuals about their personal issues!!) as it a complete waste of my time trying to communicate with Hymans Roberston and I'm not sure what I can do to persuade these clowns that this is serious and needs sorting out.
