I’ve actively researched scales that provide body composition, and Hume originally caught my eye. Then today when I felt like taking the plunge and buying a Hume Body Pod, their clumsy marketing chang... See more

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. I bought the scale for more insight into my health. The scale part is fine but the other part with the handheld measurements does not read. I have tried dozens of time and have had it work maybe twice. Now I’m reading that it’s outrageously expensive to ship it back? They offer a 45 day satisfaction guarantee? Nonsense.
Poor product
Poor product. The measurements are inconsistent and unreliable, with very poor precision from one reading to the next. This makes it difficult to trust any of the data it provides or to track meaningful changes over time. Overall, it fails to deliver the basic accuracy and reliability expected from this type of device. Ultimately, it is useless.

Scale is just a marked up version of a cheap $50 scale. Very inaccurate body fat percentages.
Why buy 1 when you can buy 2
I LOVE my pod. So much so I bought 2 of them. I love having all the information at my fingertips each and every day.
My experience has been bad from start…
My experience has been bad from start to finish. Delivery took much longer than initially indicated, and once I received the scale, I realised the readings are very unreliable….i was getting wildly different readings just by stepping on and off the scale a couple of times. Also the app continued to have issues connecting so after a few frustrating days of not being able to get much out of it, I contacted Hume to activate the return and refund procedure. I followed the instructions and returned the scale at my own cost, which was confirmed as received by Hume on the 9th February….as of today, 11th March, I’m still waiting for my refund. I did have to contact the card provider for an escalation, which is probably not helping timings, but I wanted to make sure I lock in some protection…so all considered really bad experience for the money paid.
Not worth the money
Purchased the Hume Pod for the family to use. The scale is good for just the scale, but the app is odd. It often stuck on some page and there’s no way to “go back” unless to quit the app. The hand hold is not reliable either. It takes a lot of time to get the numbers when we hold it.

I'm a slightly over weight middle aged woman and the body pod told me that my arms had 14% body fat (actually 40% when I had a dexascan a week later)
Absolute rubbish, wish I hadnt bought it.
Faulty Equipment - Body Pod - Refund agreed then refused !!
Purchased the Hume Health Body Pod. Order No. 14634.
We could not get the POD to stay connected to the Hume Health App. It continually disconnected needing to be reset and attempted again - this took considerable time to keep doing. The App would get confused with one screen (Profile & Settings screen) showing "Device Connected" but another screen (Status screen) showing as "Disconnected.
Eventually contacted Hume Health to return item within the stated period.
Hume health agreed to the return but requested "Before we move forward with the refund process, would it be okay if I take a moment to assess the issue and see if we can fix it?".
We really liked the idea of the Pod so we agreed to try all the recommendations and more to see if we could get the Pod to work without spending 30 minutes each time to try connecting to the app.
We therefore persevered over several attempts for the next few weeks to try and get the Pod to work – we reset the Pod several times, deleted and reloaded the App several times, tried different phones, etc, etc. but still would not work. After literally 100s of hours trying we again gave up and requested the return be continued. We sent Hume Health images of the different app screens showing the issues, etc.
We assumed Hume Health would be grateful for our continued efforts but NO! Instead, Hume Health now advised:
“Thank you for reaching back out to us and we do apologize for the delay in our response. Upon checking, the order is already past the refund window”
Despite several follow-up emails, Hume Health continue to advise us of their “Return Policy “ and are not interested in the fact that we requested the return within their policy guidelines and timeframe. We just cannot believe what a despicable company this seems to be - just want your money at any costs. Terrible experience. Regards Margaret & Tony Craig
Ok for weight but disregard for all other metrics.
I got the Pod as this was a product that I had been looking for a very long time. The body weight is fine but everything else is very inaccurate. My metabolic age went from 41 to 55 in 1 week despite no change in habits, training or diet. My visceral fat and subcutaneous fat were increasing every week to an alarming percentage even though I can hardly pinch anything on my body and subcutaneous fat is exactly that - what you can pinch on your body. A complete waste of money and I am just wondering if the recent 40% off was to sell off a sub optimal batch that were produced in China. I have stopped it being able to have access to my apple health app as I was worried the supposed alarming increase in body fat will impact my Whoop age. Really disappointed with the product and definitely impact my impression of the Brand. If you're reading this, don't bother to buy the product. They prioritise profit over accuracy. What's the point of purchasing something that won't give you accurate reading.
Not happy with the Hume scale
Not happy with the Hume scale. It fails to connect a lot of the time, even though it says "connected". I am unable to record any progress. Also, it gives weird readings in body fat and fat mass. Even though I've supposedly lost weight the fat % is rising is rapidly over a month. Making me really worried. Don't know if my muscles kg as is correct. It says Standard for everything, but body fat % is very high. Its also difficult to bend down and pick up the scanning tool if your not very agile. I would have preferred to keep my old scale from this company, but they no longer support it. I won't be purchasing anything from Hume again.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. Don’t bother.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. You just get constant chatGPT responses saying the same things thing and that they are actively looking into it. They tell me that I don’t need to keep following up but they only provide ‘updates’ after multiple follow ups. They avoid the word refund and completely disregard the request after asking for one 3 times now. They are now just dragging it out as long as possible to delay the refund. I have never liaised with a bigger joke of a business in my life. Been in ‘transit’ for almost a month with no resolution.
Avoid like the plague
Ordered the Hume pod and waited for the longer than expected delivery date to come and go, contacted Hume and they apologised for the delay and sent me the tracking number which stated it would be next day, waited another 4 days and still nothing, contacted again and received an email saying it's been lost in transit and they can resend it if I give them my details again.
Needless to say I won't be waiting another 3 weeks for it not to show up, just waiting on a refund and then going to order the Renpho Morphoscan.
Avoid at all costs
I’ve had the scale for nearly a year now and the only thing that it is good for is measuring weight. All other measurements are so unreliable and change day to day. Body fat percentage increasing overnight?? Muscle mass one day is very high, next day just high. The scoring system sounds very fancy but again absolutely useless. Lots of bells and whistles but not much substance.
Less accurate body fat reading than a…
Less accurate body fat reading than a 50 dollar amazon scale. It is off by 7% at least.
The Pod is of limited use.
The pod requires you to have an iPhone or iPad (or similar). The data is only stored on that device (app). It does not upload to the cloud and cannot be viewed on any other device (unlike the Fitbit).
For the majority of people in the UK we take our weight in Stone and pounds. Because the weight is not decimal, ie 14lb to a Stone, the app/pod cannot cope with this and converts the weight to a digital measurement. This creates errors in rounding and therefore an inaccurate weight.
Whilst the app/pod does give you a lot of info to get anywhere you need to subscribe to their service, extra money…
As for the band, well that is another story. It was delivered last week and wouldn’t charge from day one. It came with a 2% charge but that ran out quickly and whilst all the lights came on when connected to the charger it still wouldn’t hold a charge.
I have emailed 3 or 4 times and despite sending photos and a video I keep getting asked to read the manual and send in additional videos and photos! Just so frustrating, it doesn’t work, period.
Personally I wouldn’t buy either given the choice again.
Fraudsters - Product Signficantly Different to Description - PayPal Absolutely No Help
Communication with this company is via a bot. The scales are cheap, plastic rubbish and the Hume app does not sync with an iPhone 17 Pro. I lodged a complaint with PayPal when Hume would not give a return address for me to send back their faulty product. I provided video and photographic proof to Hume that the scales did not work. In fact, they are useless as normal digital scales, showing a different weight for the same person weighing again within minutes with the scales in exactly the same location. Proof of this was also shown to both Hume and PayPal. In one email, Hume Health advised the multiple circumstances that would require offloading and reloading the Hume app, so the problems with the scales are well-known to the company. Another excuse I was given for the scales not being able to read body composition data was that my feet could be dry and it was suggested that prior to stepping on the scale, I should dampen my feet or apply body lotion to the soles of my feet before use. The ridiculous responses were inflammatory when hundreds of dollar were at stake. After weeks of emails back and forth between me and the AI at Hume, with very poor and delayed responses from Hume, I was given an Australian address to return the scales at my cost, but was told to close the claim with PayPal before Hume would consider refunding me. I thought that once the scales were out of my possession and control that I would be at a disadvantage at this point, as it seemed resolution of my complaint to PayPal was close. I had sent everything I could find, including the ridiculous emails between myself as a human and the Hume Health bot. However, infuriatingly PayPal yesterday gave me a resolution which involves me sending the scales to Hume at my cost, despite the proof of a faulty product I have already provided. Hume has now advised through PayPal that they will refund my money as long as I return the scales to an address in the USA at my cost. The cost to do this will be in excess of A$100 to send faulty scales to the USA when the scales came to me from New South Wales in Australia. I have read many reviews on Trust Pilot where people have decided to try to get their money back and have paid the postage and Hume has reneged on the arrangement and no refund of the purchase price was given. So customers are then out of pocket for the initial purchase price plus the postage. I am disgusted with Hume Health and blindsided by the outcome from PayPal. Hume Health is obviously scamming people. I don't know what to do next but it just seems wrong that Hume Health can continue selling scales that do not work - they are significantly different to the product that is described - and they are at this stage getting away with it. And I foolishly believed there was a buyer guarantee with PayPal. Maybe the AI bots from Hume Health and PayPal got together here, because all of the communication has been drawn out, unclear and difficult.
Buyer beware
Do not buy this. I received a shiny appliance which would only ever display a large red X despite repeatedly trying to perform the 1st set of measurements. Hume then authorised a return at my cost. However, with Hume having confirmed receiving the device back, I’m still awaiting the promised refund. Don’t trust this company. I’m currently out of pocket for the price of the unit and the return postage.
INACCURATE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - BUYER BEWARE!
Not only is the pod INACCURATE, with a different reading each time, and even that reading was way out and wrong.
I went to return it after 2 days. I have emailed them 4 times and still haven't received a reply on how or where to return it. If I just return it to this Mickey Mouse company address on their robot chat, I can see what will happen. It is now with the bank and Paypal
Full of Contradictory Data
I don’t even know where to begin. Conflicting data is everywhere. I have both the scale and the band. Been using them for four weeks. One metric says that it can’t collect any sleep data. Then you go to the next tab and it says all of your sleep data there. Each tab tells you a different story. I waited for a report on potential future illnesses that never came. It’s so confusing. Highly recommend you don’t waste your time or money.
I had finally had enough and told them I wanted to get a full refund. To their credit they were very helpful through the process, so I give them another star for that.
The Hume Health Smart Scale is a total con
The Hume Health Smart Scale is an absolute con! Do not believe the hype regarding this product. It was recording a weight for me on days when I was not weighing and always heavier than my actual weight. It was also telling me that I was too sedentary at only 300 steps a day when in actual fact I walk between 5 and 8 miles a day with my 2 dogs. Customer Service do not reply and I have had to involve my credit card company to help me get my refund even though I returned the product well within the returns deadline. Hume have never paid the refund and it is only because I paid by credit card that I have had the purchase price refunded to me. This company are not trustworthy, the product is a con - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
