Delivery on time. Helpful delivery drivers friendly and courteous.

I paid for delivery, installation, and removal of my old appliance. However, the driver failed to make the promised 30-minute pre-arrival call and appeared ready to leave without removing the old tumble dryer until this was pointed out.

More importantly, no installation service was provided. The driver told us he did not know what appliance he was delivering and could not explain how to set it up. As the new appliance is a heat pump condenser dryer, we specifically expected assistance as part of the installation service we had paid for.

The website was easy to use. We decided on the microwave we wanted and it arrived well packed and on the day and time we had chosen.

Not a good experience. Two guys turned up in a van (not Hughes). No Hughes uniform. They were very pleasant although slightly hard to understand. They brought my washing machine into the house and into the utility room. I had paid for unpacking and installation. They then proceeded to ask if I had tools as they did not have any with them. Luckily my son was home and lent them some. In the meantime one of the chaps phoned his office and shoved the phone in my hand and said talk. Im not sure what I was supposed to say and I could not understand the lady. She just hung up. My son and I were worried that as they had no tools did they know how to fit a washing machine. My son asked them and they said they had fitted 6 that morning. Really! With no tools! Well they managed to fit it. Then they were rushing out of the house with the packaging and into their van. They had not tested the machine, there were dirty rubber marks on the floor and a lot of water. It took us about 20 minutes to clear up. I did not find this a good experience and totally unprofessional. If Hughes are sub contracting out they should check who they are hiring. !
I have submitted a trust pilot review of the said contractors and then received a phone call to say they were taking my comments on board. I have used Hughes several times and they have always been Hughes employees with a van. Tools and uniform. That in itself makes a huge difference to us the customers.

Always have a good experience. Staff are friendly and helpful.

2 nice chaps delivered my tumble dryer but they didn't speak English when they spoke to each other which I thought was a bit rude. They had NO tools with them which would have been a disaster if I was having a washing machine delivered!!!

There was a problem with my order and it did not arrive on the day I expected. I had to make contact with the company to see what had happened. The gentleman I spoke to was helpful and friendly and after looking into it and ringing me back the order was sorted and arrived the next day but it appeared if I had not chased it up I would still be waiting.

I would highly recommend Hughes for all rentals and aftercare services. An engineer called today and fixed our television within minutes. His patient, knowledgeable and efficent visit, was exceptional. Thank you Hughes - you can't be faulted.

⭐ **Extremely disappointing experience – I would not buy from Hughes again**

I purchased a washing machine and tumble dryer from Hughes and paid extra for delivery and installation. What should have been a straightforward purchase has turned into one problem after another.

When the appliances were originally installed, the tumble dryer was pushed into position in a way that **pinched the water pipe to the washing machine**. I didn't realise this until I tried to use the washing machine and it wouldn't work.

We then had to pull the tumble dryer back out to find out why the washing machine wasn't working, and in doing so my flooring was ripped and damaged. Had the appliances been installed correctly in the first place, we would not have needed to pull the dryer back out. To make matters worse, the tumble dryer itself then didn't work.

Hughes eventually came back to inspect it, but this took around a week. They agreed to replace the dryer with a different one, which arrived approximately three days later. The delivery driver offered to unpack it and, thankfully, he did because as soon as it was unpacked I could clearly see that the bottom of the appliance was damaged. I immediately contacted the office and another replacement was arranged.

Three days later, the next replacement arrived. Given everything we had already been through, my husband simply asked the delivery driver to unpack it so we could check that this one wasn't damaged before they left. He refused, saying it wasn't on his sheet.

I was on the phone at the time and politely asked if he could please just unpack it because of all the previous problems and the damaged appliance we had already received. His response was to put the phone down on me, storm out of my house and drive off.

I find the whole experience absolutely unbelievable. We paid for new appliances, delivery and installation, yet we have had an incorrectly installed washing machine, damage to our flooring, a faulty tumble dryer, a damaged replacement, repeated delays and finally a delivery driver behaving in a completely unacceptable manner.

I also expect Hughes to take responsibility for the damage caused to my flooring and to compensate me for the cost of putting it right. This damage arose as a direct consequence of having to pull the tumble dryer back out after the original installation left the washing machine's water pipe pinched.

After everything that has happened, I would never purchase from Hughes again and could not recommend this store based on my experience. What should have been a simple purchase has caused nothing but inconvenience, damage, delays and frustration.

Washing machine is great, easy to install & whilst other reviews report difficulties setting up WiFi, no problems here. Set up within minutes to both of our phones. Some great features on the machine. My favourite & anticipate to use the most is that I can start the machine as I leave work, ready to be hung up when I get in👌
