Lovely staff. So helpful

I bought a specialist riser recliner chair and paid £2200.50 in June 2026.I also bought a battery for another chair at the same time.

I already bought a sofa and 2 chairs from HSL valued at over £5000 a while ago.

I received a phone call from HSL a couple of weeks ago telling me that the chair was in and battery hadn't arrived. They asked me if they should hold off delivering my chair until the battery arrived. I said definitely not, please deliver my chair ASAP.

26th August was suggested by HSL and they said they would come back with a time slot. In the meantime, I've sold the furniture I had and it was taken away in preparation for my new chair from HSL this Wednesday 26th August.

I was so disappointed with the HSL delivery service today. They phoned to offer me the 2/9 for delivery. I said that wasn't what they discussed with me the last time I spoke to them.

I explained to the male assistant how desperate I am for the chair due to my needs. I said that I was hoping the chair would arrive so I've got a chair to sit on. I also said I'd spent a lot of money on the chair and previous furniture with HSL.

I really don't believe the assistant cared at all about my health problems, he didn't think it mattered how much I'd spent with HSL over the years when I explained that to him. He was apologetic but not sincere.

The only person who showed me any comparison was the lady who sold me the chair in the first place. She tried to help me today but without success.

HSL are a specialist company. I was very disappointed in the service I've received from them today.

The quality of HSL furniture is outstanding, the furniture I've had in the past is made to a high standard and will last for years. I will be returning to my local HSL to look for another piece of furniture.

**UPDATE **

The head of customer services has contacted me and has managed to arrange for my new chair to be delivered this week. I would just like to thank her and let her know how much I appreciate this. The chair will help me and offer me a lot of comfort.

Please can HSL let me know when the battery I've ordered is due to come.

Good news! HSL called me this afternoon and have been able to deliver my chair. Very short notice and unexpected but I have my chair.

Wow, what a great visit from Kaleigh and Hugh this last Tuesday. I couldn't say enough nice things about their visit. They were on time, courteous, helpful, thorough, explained things well and so kind. I am waiting for aome fabic samples to make some decisions on LR furniture

I had looked at the HSL website and found a reclining chair which would suit my wife and myself. We saw that a home visit was possible which was so helpful as my wife has mobility issues and the hour and a half journey would be difficult for her. Kayleigh and Hugh arrived with the model of chair we were interested in and could not be more helpful. Kayleigh was very attentive to my wife’s needs and we ordered two chairs.

Lots of choice. Lovely friendly personalised service. Very patient. Not cheap but you pay for quality.

Overall experience was excellent, knowledgeable staff were helpful and made choosing the suitable chair for me easier. The delivery service was very good setting up the chair and explaining the controls, all I need to do now is relax and enjoy using the chair.

My new HSL chair arrived this morning and Ashley & Cameron were professional and helpful explaining everything to me and moving my chair into place.

We had previously bought some chairs from HSL and decided to look into replacing the chairs and adding a sofa. On our initial visit to the HSL showroom we were greeted warmly and were offered a drink and a cookie whilst a member of staff, Sue, showed us around so that we could try out the chairs. On our second visit Sue discussed our needs and budget before placing our order. We didn't feel pressured into buying and all of the staff were friendly and gave us as much time as we needed. We are looking forward to receiving the new furniture. We would thoroughly recommend going to this company when considering buying quality furniture.

The whole process from showroom to our front room was excellent. Great staff in the HSL shop in Plympton who really knew the poducts and could offer sound advise on all aspects of the chair we purchased. The chair is of top quality manufacture and very pleasing to look at and sit on! Delivery was to our convenience and the two gentlemen who delivered the chair were very good at their job and very helpful. All in all a very good service. We will recommend HSL to our friends and family.
