I've used House Trip 3 times over the past few years and each time came away satisfied with the quality of the properties, and the accuracy of the descriptions. The messaging system works very well. I think the feedback system could be improved upon, but I really don't have anything negative to say about it. Hoping that overall it continues to impress!

I would recommend Housetrip to family friends and anyone who asked my opinion. A great, flexible, better value and trendy alternative to the sterile dated format of city centre hotels. More apartments and more hosts in more places please!

The site is very clear and user friendly. I would have given you 5* but it took you nearly 2 weeks to help us with a emailing issue

Recently, I booked an apartment in paris through Housetrip, we were cancelled on the D day after we arrived at the front of the apartment by the host without a reason ( our arrival date: 5th July 2016). We felt like we are being played and this was some kind of scam, cause at the last hour we still chatted through texts with the host's friend who was going to bring the key. About 22 hours before we departed we still received an email regarding how to get the key from the host. After 45 minutes waiting for the host's friend, we received a text saying your booking has been canceled by the host, please deal with the host. However, the host's number was impossible to be reached, always went through to the voice mails in French.
Yet, when we called to the customer service of Housetrip they put us on hold for a quite while with all the ping pong among the customer service and still we are asked to wait for one more hour for them before they agreed to refund our money. They said they still need to contact the host before they could refund our money. This is the worst holiday experience we could imagine for us as a first timer in Paris. Not counting all the efforts to drag the luggages, back forwards phone calls to Housetrip and finding a new place to stay within such a short time. Even with the refunds, we ended spend much more for the new accommodations , international calls and the additional transportation. Not counting all the horror, panics and anxiety as we travelled with our child. We are just so disappointed with Housetrip response in dealing our case. They should have a good contingency plan for cases like this. They should not let us worry as a customer especially for us as first timer in a new country. When you travelled with kid, this kind of thing should not be happening. We never thought with a big name such as a Trip advisor, this thing could happen. Hopefully, nobody has to experience on what we had. Just be careful when you book through this company. For Housetrip, I really hope you could give us better response than what you did.

I made my booking in June 2016 which was very easy and all seemed well.
until last week I had to make my final payment having paid Housetrip a £500 deposit.
for some unknown reason when trying to make a payment online I kept receiving an error message. After trying to contact Housetrip several times via telephone and the online contact tool requesting a phone call urgently because of the problems I was experiencing they resulted in cancelling my booking and keeping my £500 deposit. although they can see from my emails my attempts to contact them asking for help. What is more insulting I had a response within an hour when I complained but yet asking for help I received NONE. its as if they couldn't be bothered to contact me because they would still receive their £500 so called commission which how they deserve this is beyond me.
each time I call them or email I am directed to a different person who doesn't know what they are doing which is resulting in me going round in circles. Very unorganized and they lack any customer service I will never use this service again.
I am taking legal action as I do not feel its acceptable they keep my £50- when there was clearly an error which I was trying to resolve.
I was even unable to make the payment online because I booked this before Trip Advisor took over as all old ref numbers are no longer valid. And now they can't find my bookings online.
Terrible service! DO NOT USE HOUSETRIP.

I am trying to pay a balance on a booking I made with House Trip in January. Trying to find anyone that knows what they are doing is a farce - it would be easier to get an audience with the pope. The links that House trip sent no longer exist, the House trip website is dreadful - answers no questions - e-mails are answered with an automated response and the booking reference is no longer recognised. A JOKE! Call this customer service????

HouseTrip had a good choice of apartments in Rome and we were very happy with our choice when we arrived. It was easy to communicate with our host and his family, and I would definitely use this site again.

The prices are amazingly cheap, communication with both Housetrip and the flat owners is straightforward and positive. I will definitely be using them again..

I was a host with my property listed in Housetrip. During the process of migration from Housetrip to Trip Advisor I have lost all the information existent in Housetrip - including hundreds of customer reviews, made along 2 years of work! I complained on the 13th of July and still got no response or prospect of solution/remedy to the problem. Isn´t Trip Advisor a review company? And now they destroy/put in the garbage thousands of customer reviews? Will they get away with this?

I too seem to have lost reviews for both properties I have. I am in the process of getting it sorted. Let's ee how soon this is done!

I am a property manager, who has being working for more then 3 years with HouseTrip, and more than 20 properties listed there. They have being very professional and with excellent customer service. The back office on their website was very good and easy to use.
But since they merged with TripAdvisor, I cannot login anymore. Their customer service has always being terrible (I have listings there too) and they are not helping me at all to login to my HouseTrip account anymore. I've heard of other property managers who have similar problems and lost all their reviews.

I like the fact that the credit card only gets charged after arrival.
The support that the company would provide if there are problems with access to the booked accommodation on arrival is very reassuring.
The communication via the company's email system.

My first time using the service and the entire process of booking with HouseTrip was easy and hassle free. I would highly recommend the site to anyone and I will definitely be using it again in the future.

Rubbish loyalty program that they pulled when I was expecting two free nights
It was the 2nd experience and I was allways satisfied.
Our accommodation was exactly what it said, had no problems with owner, accommodation or HouseTrip. Would differently recommend to everyone.
