Stayed for a week

Stayed for a week. The hotel was was good. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Evening dinner was very poor - not many choices - had to eat out 3 nights. Spoke to many people who were not happy with the food. Not 4 star quality. I would suggest booking for B&B only. There are lots of eating places to go to close to the hotel.

Minus 2 stars for an avoidable constant screeching of heavy chairs

This is a 4star htl situated in the better part of the "Costa del Fish n Chips " strip of the miles-long fuengirola beach promenade.
Starting with the positive aspects, they have a hardworking, helpful and very customer service minded bunch of staff. They are really are a credit to their employer.
There is a very spacious and popular pool on the mezzanine floor between the 1st & 2nd floors with lots of space for lots of sunbeds.
The room is what we expected, fine, compact with a good balcony terrace giving a fabulous side-view of the beach and the ocean. However, when you go into the bathroom you are met with a toilet so low that it seems to be designed for children or very small people, rather than for adults. And incredulously, the toilet roll dispenser is placed behind the toilet rather than by the side of it. So you have to be somewhat dextrous to reach the loo roll before you have to strain yourself to get up from the toilet. Given that most of the guests are elderly pensioners with varying degrees of mobility that indeed would be a challenge. It seems whoever was consulted for the refurbishment of the hotel didn't give much thought to that aspect. On the plus side, the shower attachment is very user-friendly and all credit is due to that aspect of the bathroom.
Now we get to the really difficult part of this review which is the restaurant used for the buffet breakfast and dinner. The buffets are good, plentiful with wonderful array of salads and fresh fruit as well as the many and varied hot dishes. The problem lies in the heavy, but comfortable, chairs. Over and above the usual hub-a-bub of a busy buffet, there is a constant screeching of chairs being pushed back and forth as people go back and forth to the buffet. It really makes the whole experience of a 4 week half-board stay a nightmare. Why on earth someone hadn't figured out this negative aspect and arranged padding on the chairs before opening the restaurant after refurbishment,is incomprehensible.
The next hurdle was getting hold of a manager to find a solution. You're expected to turn up at certain times and take pot luck and come back again and again in between the manager's busy schedule to get a hearing. It was only after sending an email of complaint, did I get the reception to book me a fixed appointment.
The dialogue with the manager was it should be and it was- finally- explained to me that the matter was in hand but no idea of when it would be completed
At the start of the 3rd week of our 4 week stay, we can't wait to get away. And all because everytime we are there to eat, we're in a hurry to vacate the place because of the constant nerve-wracking screeching of the chairs against the marble floor.
And that is the primary reason why we think that this 4star establishment only gets a 2 star rating from us. And that is why we've told our travel agent that we won't be using this hotel again on our annual visits to fuengirola.
