I previously had a good experience with HostGator USA, so I assumed this would be the same. Unfortunately, the experience has been terrible. When you contact chat support for help, they never really solve the issue—they just escalate it. You receive a generic, copy-and-paste response, and weeks later the problem is still unresolved. It has been a complete nightmare.
I signed up with HostGator Mexico and had already canceled my hosting service, but I forgot to disable the domain renewal (which is handled separately, not very user-friendly). The domain auto-renewed, and I immediately contacted support to request a refund.
Despite canceling the domain right after the charge and not having used it at all, they refused to refund me. They hide behind their refund policy and show no flexibility or understanding.
