Host Europe, as always, had a competent and friendly
approach to my problem.
The VPS was up an running within 30 minutes.

Foul Eggs. Not kosher.

Once I received some more phishing E-Mail. Okay, that comes almost every day alike SPAM. However this phishing E-Mail was well-designed and looked like something official from Host Europe. Even my full Name and my Customer Number were inside this phishing E-Mail. Very Confusing! Either there must be some black sheep inside the company who forwarded Customer Data in bulk to others. Or Host Europe has serious security issues and is completely hacked. Since when? Some other day I noticed that my webspace is completely open to anyone. Imagine some kind of House which is secured with some key. But you only need to go around this house to the backdoor wich is open and unlocked. The server performance is really poor. About 756 kbps. So what is the use of their smallest overpriced package if there is such less performance that a complete load will take more than a week? There is not much more use of an excellent helpdesk for customers if the product is not competitive with the market. Other small Hosters which are no big companies but Boss lead small family enterprises have comparable packages for less than 20% of the price. So why is Host Europe so expensive? I suppose they are cought inside the spiders web and are frequently blackmailed for a long time. If you choose Host Europe your money certainly will benefit some criminals. No, I don't think that Host Europe employees are crimal. They may certainly not know who they are working for. Example: If you are working for a big company you are also not informed about everything, right?
So there is somthing in the soup which is not kosher.

I went and purchase a domain name

I went and purchase a domain name. Then after transaction was completed and my money was gone, I receive an e-mail saying I need to wait for them to verify my account. I am waiting for 2 days-nothing. Wrote an e-mail to support and after couple of hours they tell me I need to provide them with photocopies of ID,bills I've paid etc. I've used multiple platforms before and none of them wanted this kind of sensitive data from me.

This not only protects us, but also those whose information is misused. This general check is usually completed within one business day and is only required once for the first order. If you have opened a new account for your order, the account will need to be validated before your domain can be registered. The new customer validation is usually done within one business day and is only required once to open the account. We do this in order to prevent fake orders, using invented or stolen data, and associated fraud in the best possible way.

I'm a virtual server customer for 10 years

I'm a virtual server customer for almost 10 years now.
The uptime is good and hosteurope offers good support.
I once compared the performance per core with 1blu and it was comparable. The performance is not good - but ok considering it's a virtual server product. It fits my needs for now.

What really upsets me are the high prices and the slow network speed. Using iperf I only get outgoing speed of 91.6 Mbits/sec and ingoing speed of 197 Mbits/sec.

Backup systems are completely unreliable

I'm a customer of Host Europe for many years and I'm generally contend with the service except for one very important exemption.

The backup system is completely unreliable!

Time and again when I needed to restore a backup (virtual servers of any kind) to my dismay the backups I have made have gone missing or simply doesn't work.

You only have to experience this once for you to never to be able to trust the system again, but I have experienced this multiple times. The backup might be gone or shown in the KIS but when I want to restore it I get an error.

Host Europe doesn't care. The last response I got was:

"The archive from 2021-12-13 does not exist anymore,
please chosse antoher archive or reinstall the server."

Are you serious?? Ups - We messed up your business critical data and BTW we don't give a f...

I paid for a domain for 12 months

I paid for a domain for 12 months. I ultimately didn't use the domain. Without any notice or phone call, they renewed my contract again and then they sent me to collections for an amount twice the original fee when I did not pay for a service I was unaware I was automatically re-enrolled into. This is the only domain provider of many that I have used that did not get my explicit consent before renewing. I think they are unethical.

We are sorry that you were not aware of the automatic renewal. We are a German hosting provider. In Germany, it is normal for contracts to be renewed automatically until they are terminated. With our current offer on domains, we give a discount on the first year. Both the automatic renewal and the renewal price from the second year onwards are transparently displayed on the website, in the shopping cart and on the order acceptence and order confirmation.

Unfortunately, you have not provided any contact details or other data to confirm or review your experience. We will be happy to take a look at your case when your customer number is provided and ensure together with you that the domain you no longer need is canceled.

We have been Host Europe customers…

They got in touch and sorted out the problem.
Happy customer after all :-)

We have been Host Europe customers since 2018, and we had no reason to complain whatsoever - well, we never had no ask for support.
It all changed when we needed it, because we got simply told that this is not their job. We moved our website to a different host, and got charged for extras, which were in included in our package - despite getting a confirmation that everything has been cancelled. Refund? Of course not! We asked for an official confirmation that everything is cancelled - of course not! Let's see what we can do with one year of SSL without any hosting. Be very careful when signing contracts with Host Europe!

hosteurope.de is a scam website

I bought a domain for 1 Euro from them, after which they asked me to send them my personal card, electricity bill, and my signature. After I spoke to them and asked them to recover the amount paid, they closed my account and stopped responding to my messages. For this reason, do not send them your personal information, because this company is a fraud

You then admitted that you have provided us with what you called "random information" during the registration process, which led to us declining your order and cancelling the prepayment request, so we did not receive any money from you up until this point.

WebHosting is not for serious business

Our company has used there WebHosting package for over 10 years. It was OK even though there where unexpected IP range bans.
But then out of the blue our server was deactivated. At 6:30pm when noone was in office to take care of it.
Reason: too much traffic.
It is partly our fault to have put our trust in this company alone to handle our license server.
We where kind of black mailed to either switch to a different, way more expensive package or keep things deactivated.
I don't think this is a way to handle a business. This same offer would have been OK if we had been asked to check and accept there offer before the deactivation.
If you need a server that you can rely on for your business, then Host Europe might NOT be the service for you.

In addition to my previous review and as a reply to what HostEurope added under my review I would like to point a few things out:

1. The traffic was NOT different from the days before deactivation. It was high, but I could have fixed it easily when notified.
2. The deactivation came out of the blue. I expect someone to talk to us and address the issue before cancelling it
3. I only got a reply as I wrote here on TrustPilot. I asked several times to forward my complains to the person responsible....nothing!
4. A deactivation at 6:30pm means noone was there to help us...even worse, there was a free day to follow for many people in Germany.
5. This "we had no option" and "we didn't do anything wrong" is just unacceptable. Everyone makes mistakes, but not admitting them is the worst! You just did it and you will lose a customer in this. We recommended your service to many of our clients but this will not be the case any more. It's really sad how this was handled...and no excuse or anything...just a "we had no option"...very disappointing.

Update: We have now found a new home at SolidSEOVPS.com, a service I can recommend

We regret that you have not been satisfied in this case. However, as the traffic on your web space caused a disruption of an entire shared hosting server, so that other customers could no longer use their services, we had to temporarily block your web space until you either took actions to reduce the traffic or switched to non-shared hosting. Even without this temporary suspension, your web pages and email would have been slow or unavailable because your traffic was overloading the entire server. From our point of view, there was no alternative other than to temporarily deactivate your web space and thereby restore the service for other customers.

We therefore ask for your understanding.

Amazing Customer Service and Support

We have been satisfied customers of Host Europe for many years and recently moved to a new server, for which we ordered a service package for the archiving of many thousands of old emails.
