Hopper being the travel booking service provider via Commonwealth Bank, I had no reasons to doubt their services and professionalism. I was so wrong.
The pre-paid seats that I purchased with email confirmation from Hopper meant nothing.
The airline system didn't show our pre-paid seats. Hoppers customer service suggested I should contact the airline directly "to sort it out". Airline claimed it's the agency/Hopper responsibility. Hoppers customer service agents told me in several calls/emails "not to worry" as they could see from their system everything was definitely confirmed. I had to keep explaining to them the seats that i pre-paid were not locked but instead showing in the airline system as opened to public. After a week going back and forth, they've finally admitted their travel partner "TravelFusion" confirmed no seats were reserved. Lucky we managed to identify this discrepancy shortly after the booking - thanks to a quick Google search and read so many bad reviews. Many reviewers only found out too late at the airport. I am still waiting for my refund. It is unacceptable!

Scam company. Do not use. I paid ~300 extra for flexible flights (vs alt. app), but there was no way to amend the dates. Both airlines confirmed to me that changes could only be made by hopper, and hopper had no way to make the changes - instead referring me to the airlines. Hopper has no legal footprint in the UK, so I can only get my money back if I launch a court action overseas. The firm rejects emails to help@ and ignores all emails to legal@.

The hotel I stayed at booked through hopper refunded me a partial refund for early checkout. Unfortunately they refunded it to the hoppers credit card, not the card I booked with. After a month of calls to hopper which included sending a receipt showing the refund issued to them, they denied me my money. They are liars and scammers.

I set up a rental car through them. I saw the company could take debit card with Visa/MC logo. I paid for the car in full. Before my trip I wanted to make sure everything was in place, come to find out the company doesn't take bank debit, I don't use credit cards. I had to cancel and now they are saying I can't a refund even though it shows I can. I don't think I should be penalized for not being able to use a card that it showed i could. The whole this is a mess and I'm out a chunk of money! No one seems to want to make it right. Everyone is sorry for the confusion, quick to take my money which had been paid for weeks, but not only am I out the money I had to pay for a completely different car rental through a reputable company for the same price these jokers charged! I am beyond mad! Needless to say today is June 1st a little over a week later and still no resolve. After my own experience and reading reviews here, maybe they need a class action lawsuit against them.

Bought an expensive package multi-city to Brazil.
Called this morning to change one leg. At noon, it was $9.5 to change. Called 3 hours later, it was $66. Finally tried again and in a 6-hour span, the price reached $330 dollars. The same as a new flight. And I am leaving a weekend flight for a week flight. I asked to talk to an agent from the LATAM airlines… long after a person with indian accent joined, I asked if he was with the airline to which he confirmed. I then asked fir his badge/employee number. He stutters and starts to think what to say… bunch of fraudsters… NEVER AGAIN!!!🤬🤬🤬

Denied me service when I arrived at the agency in Rende Italy. Now I have to fight to get my $1500 paid in advance car rental fee. Used Capital One Travel who are stonewalling my claim. Do Not Use This Agency - no customer service, false claims, lies to keep your money.

Made a reservation for a car rental with them. At the pick up location was charged like for a completely new reservation. Hooper's customer representative told me they would refund me once I send a receipt to them upon return of rental. I did, and they told me they cannot do anything and offered me $50 voucher instead. What a joke.

Customer service is horrible. You'll be on the phone for more than 50 minutes to not get any answers. This happened to me twice. Unclear check in instructions for an Inn from the Hopper app made us miss a check in time and we weren't able to stay at the Inn. They said we needed to check in at 3pm since we booked through a 3rd party app and we couldn't check shortly before 9pm even though their normal check in hours were til 9. The Hopper app never stated that nor did the confirmation email from hopper. Out $230 because Hopper did not give us clear instructions.

– A Disappointing & Frustrating Experience
I booked a rental car through Hopper, expecting convenience and transparency, but my experience was unfortunately frustrating and unprofessional from the start.
First, the rental was facilitated through Payless, and not only was the car unclean when I received it, but the staff showed zero accountability when I pointed it out. I tried to extend my rental, and despite reaching out proactively, they were unhelpful and dismissive, refusing to work with me in any way—even though I was willing to pay a reasonable fee.
Instead of being offered a simple extension, I was told I’d be charged over $200 for being just six hours late, despite already having paid a deposit. I locked my card out of caution, knowing how inflated these post-rental charges can be.
I also reached out to Hopper for support, and while they claimed they would follow up or advocate on my behalf, I felt like I was passed around without any real resolution. The platform takes zero responsibility for the vendors they work with, and there’s no way to talk to a real person when things go wrong.
I expected a modern, tech-savvy experience—what I got was poor communication, unclear policies, and a complete lack of customer care.
⸻
Bottom Line:
If you’re considering renting a car through Hopper—don’t.
You’re better off booking directly with a rental company you trust.
This experience left me stressed, overcharged, and feeling taken advantage of.

Robbed me for my money for hotel stay i couldn't stay because one error in my name they wouldn't fix and of course no refund even with worthless insurance (xcover) definitely run with your money or they will! I tried leaps and bounds to get my refund wasted two months of time to be promised it back ...

Never seen this bad experience with customer support. I cancelled a flight and expected a refund, I asked for a id and status but none, I am stuck between BudegetAIir and this insurance company. No tracking, and else.

My Avianca flight was cancelled. At first, Hopper did not want to honor the Premium Disruption Assistance that I paid for. But after leaving a bad review here, they changed their tune and gave me a full refund. So I am keeping my word and changing my rating to five stars. Although I will admit, I did not love how much effort it took to get them to do the honorable thing.

The app made a mistake with our luggage and we were charged on the return flight an additional £116. The Hopper advisor agreed to refund the £116 when we spoke on the telephone and on an email. 6 months later still no refund. I have emailed again and again. Today I have spoken to another advisor requesting my refund.
They have my details on the account. The advisor could see the complaint and the amount in GBP. Nothing has been done!
Then I was cut off mid sentence!

I would definitely use another service. Recently I reserved a car rental through Hopper for a family vacation in Hawaii. When we picked up the car the price was 20% more than what Hopper had quoted. Being 5000 miles from home we had no choice but to pay the additional cost or cancel and look elsewhere. When we contacted Hopper customer service we were told they had contacted the car rental company (Dollar) and we were to reconnect with Hopper after our rental was returned. We did so and were told that nothing could be done. As mentioned before, Hopper’s customer service is inadequate while following a company policy that is not interested in customer satisfaction.

If I could give this service a zero, I would. I paid extra for cancellation insurance. Here I am a week in advance (which means they could certainly sell the seat, and I an not allowed to cancel?! This is ridiculous. I will not use Hopper again.

I reserved a hotel in New York the Hudson Yards Hotel through them for 3 nights which at first I was thinking I Had a good deal through Hopper. Long story short the hotel phones never worked and so did their ac. They checked us in and after we found out ac was not working on the room went down stairs to find out they had their ac turned off for the entire place and ended up having to reserve a room last minute through another hotel. Hopper in no way helped get this resolved. I placed around 10 calls to hopper explaining what had happened and that the manager of the hotel was saying they had to email them to get refunded. In the end and 5 days out I am speaking to hopper once again trying to get someone from the hotel to get me a refund and keep asking for 24 more hours of wait. Horrible experience, stay away from reserving using this site as they don’t stand by their clients
Update: Hoppers partner who is not the hotel but an intermediary is requesting that I send picture to prove that the air conditioning did not work (can anyone enlighten me with some sort of form to have a picture of an ac not blowing air cold?) they make no sense just like the property, I already started legal actions against the property with the state of New York and could as well go further with hopper. Should not be operating this way that is for sure.
