Fascinating brewery tour!

Monty gave us a fascinating tour of the brewery. It is in an amazing old brewery and you can see the old machinery as well as the bang up to date kit. Brewing is a science and it was extremely interesting to find out about all the different ingredients, where they come from and what happens to them. the shop and the restaurant are vey good quality.

Excellent Tour with Leon

Had a most enjoyable visit to the Brewery . Leon was a most informative and entertaining guide . We also had a lovely lunch in the restaurant and some retail therapy in the shop. Sad not to see the Shire horses but gives us a reason to go back :)

Fascinating Tour of this wonderful old working Brewery.

We visited the Hook Norton Brewery for a Guided Tour. It was so interesting and it is amazing how many of the old methods of brewing are still in use there today. It is a fascinating place and the beer is wonderful. After a tour lasting about 1hr 45mins with Liam, who provided us with a humorous and very interesting tour, we were taken to the Tap Room to taste the beers. That was a fitting end to the amazing tour. The Tap Room offers a very comfortable 'pub like' atmosphere, plus loads of superb beers to try and discuss with our very knowledgeable tour guide as well as others on our tour. A Guided Tour of the Brewery is a wonderful and highly recommended way to spend a really interesting few hours, with a trip to the Brewery Shop afterwards to stock up on beers to take home. It is a must for Ale fans.

Great tour by Monty

Great tour by Monty, it's amazing to see how they kept the history of the brewery alive.

The beer tasting at the end was awesome, and the restaurant food was excellent.

First class experience

What a meal and what service we received!! Iga was first class. She is a credit to the company and such a lovely person. She was so upbeat and friendly and couldn't be more helpful. She was chatty and obviously enjoyed what she does. The food was epic and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent breakfast with good service

Excellent breakfast with good service.

A few more items for small children in the giftshop would be a good idea. For example a rack of HotWheels cars would do the trick without ruining the decor.

Enjoyed a fantastic brewery tour, extremely interesting and great value for money

Enjoyed a fantastic brewery tour yesterday with Monty as our tour guide. Never been on a brewery tour before and I've learnt so much, Monty is extremely knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions and doesn't rush you. Beer tasting at the end was great too, again learnt so much. Had lunch in the lovely café on site, good food and lovely staff. And of course, bought some beer to bring home. Will definitely return for another tour so we get to meet the Shire horses next time too, Tuesday is their day off.

Husband’s birthday present

Just arrived home after booking the fabulous Hook Norton Brewery tour for my husband’s birthday. We had a nice lunch which we booked before the tour. Sadly they were out of fish for the fish and chips but the portion sizes were generous. Next we went to the great shop where you could obviously buy their produce but also other local food goodies such as locally sourced bacon / sausages a range of wines / giftware including chutneys etc. The car park was close by so we popped our goodies into the boot before commencing our tour with the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Malcolm. We arrived for a 12:30 lunch and after museum / shop and tour we left gone 4pm. Well worth the money, am happy to recommend experience to others.
Points of note: you need sensible shoes for tour. You will be going up and down over 100+ Stairs, not suitable for youngsters/ or people with any mobility issues. There is a lot of standing around on the tour as the fabulous Victorian engineering is explained on each of the 5 floors.
That said what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and you finish off in the basement enjoying free tasters of the different beers, and your not hurried as you enjoy them

A superb brewery tour with genorous tasting!

An excellent brewery tour - the best I have experienced and I've been on many! Leon gave an articulate and entertaining tour with great historical context. My daughter, who was on the tour with me and driving this beer geek, even found it absorbing and has learnt about the brewing process. Obviously my tuition was not so interesting!
