Avoid Homeaglow.

Avoid Homeaglow.

I experienced a serious incident during a cleaning booked through their platform involving theft of personal property and a physical altercation. What’s worse than the incident itself is how Homeaglow handled it.

They failed to conduct any fair or balanced investigation and instead accepted the cleaner’s claims at face value, suspended my account, and denied responsibility. I was told to “contact the cleaner directly” to recover stolen property—despite never being given any contact information. That is not just unhelpful, it’s completely irresponsible.

Homeaglow advertises a Theft and Damage Policy, but in my experience it is meaningless. I met every listed requirement—paid in full, reported within the required timeframe, maintained a good account standing—and my claim was still dismissed. The policy appears to exist only to give customers a false sense of protection.

This situation raises serious concerns about customer safety and accountability. When a company sends someone into your home, they should stand behind that service. Homeaglow does not.

If something goes wrong, do not expect support, protection, or even a basic level of fairness.

Use this service at your own risk.

not a good experience

not a good experience, got charged multiple times over 3 days when no one came to my house, got charged twice each for 6 hours worth of cleaning on the day she came, and only stayed for 3 hours, then tried to insist we pay cash on the side for an additional 6 hours for the person(her son) that she brought with her. was dissapointed in the quality of work and lack of intention to detail. Didnt get the additional services we paid for, the whole time she was at my house she was messaging me worrying about getting paid, trying to get us to go all cash on the side even after I explained I had been charged 3 times before anyone ever showed up. in total 1 charge for 20 dollar coupon, 4 charges for 6 hour cleanings, when we only actually received 1, and we gave them 60 cash politely, to get them out of hour house. extremely dissapointed, and sad.

Utter trash

I only paid for a one time cleaning service fee using a voucher I received. Next thing I know they are charging me for a membership I never signed up for. When I noticed this back in October I told them to cancel it because I never signed up for it. “Emma” or whatever the name of their customer service team is started giving me the run around saying that I have to pay over $100 to cancel it. Excuse me? It is ILLEGAL for you to charge someone for a service they are not using. It is unprofessional for you to force someone into a membership that they never signed up for. I will NEVER use their service again. These people are scammers and they have been stressing me out since last year October. Why am I being charged several months later after using a service only one time and never signing up for a membership? Anyone with a sane mind would cancel the membership I never signed up for, apologize and hope to use their service again, but instead they kept giving me the run around. Very weird people. I hope their business falls one day. These are not trustworthy people. And not to mention, their cleaning service was trash.

STAY AWAY FROM HOMEAGLOW! NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT!

BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU gives them an F rating!
If I could give less than one star I would. I called to schedule last week and told of my requirements of a DEEP CLEAN throughout the home. The cleaning lady and her sister arrived 1.5 hours late. (She had requested to arrive early at 8 AM). They came ill prepared with NO vacuum and a bucket of bleach and fabuloso. (My previous cleaners always brought their own vacuum.) They DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH and that was one of my requirements so I could communicate with one person. We had to use her translation app to speak. She was not told it was a deep clean. I went to the Dashboard and it reads STANDARD CLEANING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I have tried numerous times to call since with the 3 numbers I had. I pressed 2 to cancel with each phone call. UNACCEPTABLE way to do business where there is no communication or support team available. I want my full refund immediately but again no option to request. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRADULENT COMPANY!

These people are con artists

These people are con artists. In a nutshell, you pay $59 a month to be charged hourly for services. You have to pay $105 to quit the service before 6 months. Their salespeople lie through omission and overtly. Do not use this company. Google the number of lawsuits against them.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a cleaning service

Jose, the cleaner, walked into my apartment and asked to videotape my place. I denied him permission. He said it was because people complained about his work and he needed proof. I again denied him permission. So he called his supervisor and his supervisor also told him no (I could hear him on the phone). The cleaner was incompetent, came without supplies despite my indicating on the app that i needed the cleaner to bring supplies. He cleaned for less than 90 minutes of a 4 hour appointment and claimed he was done. None of the table or furniture surfaces had been cleaned, he cleaned the tubs with paper towels and the soap residue was still on them, he didn’t even attempt to clean the shower walls or clean the glass surfaces. He went through my cabinets looking for supplies without my permission. He had to go buy a mop and came back 30” later claiming he couldn’t find one and had to leave. He said his office would call to either discount my visit or send someone else to finish. This was 2.5 hours into a 4 hour appointment. So I told him I found it hard to believe he couldn’t find a mop when I know three different places within a 3 block distance where they sell mops. He got angry that I was questioning him as my phone rang. It was Homeaglow calling to follow up and asking what was happening, so I proceeded to tell the woman on the line how dissatisfied I was with Jose, the cleaner. Then he started screaming at me that I was lying and began walking around my apartment taking video footage that both his supervisor and I had denied him permission to do. I told him to stop and get out. He refused and kept walking around my apartment videotaping. Them I finally had to grab his coat to keep him from moving around and shoved his backpack into his chest and screamed at him to get out. He finally left and started banging on my door stating he left his charger. So i refused to open the door until he was far enough away. Then he screamed at me from the hallway an offensive statement relating to male genitalia that I cannot use here. The Homeaglow office was on the line the entire time and heard everything. She asked me to call customer support and claimed she was unable to do anything from her end. I called them immediately and have not heard back. So, I emailed and sent a formal complaint letter to their corporate office and will file a formal complaint with NYC authorities as well.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!!

The $19 first cleaning charge is very deceptive. It will end up costing you hundreds in reocurring monthly fees because of automatic membership and expensive cancelation fees. It happened to me and I want you to know it will happen to you too if you use this company. I wrote this review to prevent people from the costly use of Homeaglow. They have a "F" rating with the BBB.

Poor practices

Hello Emma,

Thank you for the response.

Unfortunately, credits toward future appointments do not resolve the issue, as I canceled the service and do not intend to schedule additional cleanings.

Because the membership and early termination charges were not clearly understood during the purchase process, I have proceeded with the dispute through my bank regarding the February and March membership charges and the $265.21 termination charge.

My bank will contact you as part of their investigation.

Thank you,
Andrew

High pressure …

I was contacted by this company after showing interest online, and the call quickly felt like high-pressure sales. The representative would not let me get off the phone and kept pushing the membership even after I explained I wasn’t interested in a long-term commitment.

I understood the membership part — realistically, professional cleaners cannot provide services for $19 without a subscription. My main concern was the length of commitment. When I said I would only want to try the service for two months, I was told it required a six-month commitment, which I declined.

I also want to speak out of respect for the cleaners themselves. Cleaners are there to maintain and clean a home — not to handle unsafe or extreme conditions. They go home to their own families, so clients should prepare their space so the cleaner can work safely and efficiently. When expectations are reasonable, everyone benefits.

To be clear, I am not defending the company’s sales approach — I am defending the hardworking cleaners. Because of the aggressive sales experience, I chose not to move forward.
