Liberty Home Guard A Scam?

Liberty Home Guard. We filed a claim about our refrigerator/freezer. That was 3+ weeks ago. A tech was sent out about a week after the filing. He said the freezer thermostat was broken and that the drain was clogged. No action by Liberty Home Guard. Finally they said that I would not need to pay for the parts but I would have to pay for the installation. They quoted me 375 and that’s after 125 I paid to get the tech out. I called out my own service company and the thermostat was not broken and the drain was not clogged. My personal experience is that this is basically a scam. This is my true and accurate experience with this company.

CHOICE warranty

warranty, but when I filed a claim, it was denied. I expected the company to honor the coverage I was paying for, but instead I was left without the help I needed.

The customer service experience made things even worse. The warranty representatives were harsh, unhelpful, and did not treat me with respect. I felt like my concerns were ignored, and I received very little explanation about why my claim was denied.

I purchased this warranty for peace of mind, but my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Choice Home Warranty.

Choice isn't choice.

I paid approximately $1,200 to Choice Home Warranty over the last two years. When my stove needed repair, they sent a technician who was professional and courteous. Unfortunately, the repair could not be completed because a part had to be ordered, and I am still waiting for the stove to be fixed.
My biggest complaint is that I wanted to cancel my warranty, but Choice would not allow me to cancel and still have the repair completed, even though the service call had already been initiated. I also had to pay a $100 service fee, which is about what many appliance repair companies charge directly. After paying over $1,200 in premiums plus the service fee, I feel I would have been better off purchasing a new cooktop myself.
The appointment window was 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the technician arrived just before 3:00 p.m. I had to spend most of the day waiting and lost work time as a result.
I was also told that a supervisor would call me, but I never received a call.
The technician's service and communication were good, but my experience with Choice Home Warranty's policies, fees, and customer service was disappointing. After spending over $1,300, I still do not have a working repair completed and was unable to cancel the contract under reasonable terms.i will try again tomorrow.
I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty.

Choice Home Warranty is a company that no one should do business with…

Choice Home Warranty is a company that no one should pay any money to. I too had a furnace failure in early March and submitted a claim after my normal HVAC technician diagnosed the system and suggested replacement due to age, CO emission and deterioration of the heat exchanger and condensate line. Choice could not initially find anyone to come out and inspect. The heating system was non functional from mid March to early April. When Choice did send someone they claimed to have fixed the issues but the system failed 24hours later and the technician refused to submit a report to Choice or come back. Choice sent a 2nd technician. Neither technician was licensed by the State of Nevada. Finally in desperation, I replace the unit and Choice declined my claim as I had not received prior authorization. I appealed the declination and was offered $100 on a $6k claim. These people are horrible.

Choice Home Warranty is a SCAM!

Choice Home Warranty is a SCAM!
The compressor of my Carrier Infinity heat pump system failed and needed repair. I submitted the claim to CHW on 2/2. Over the course of several weeks, CHW sent 3 different technicians but CHW said they could not complete the job. Then, CHW gave up on finding other technicians, and gave me the reimbursement option, which is to find a technician myself, pay for it, and then be reimbursed. This requires their prior approval. So, I sent CHW the estimate of $11,200 for the repair from an HVAC company. CHW then came back with approval for only $1,625, saying that they would cover only a builder's grade compressor repair cost. What a shock! I have no idea if there exists any builder's grade compressor that will work as a drop in replacement for the Carrier Infinity system and provide the same functionality. I wonder if that was the reason why all the technicians CHW sent declined to do the job. With the approval of $1,625, CHW marked the claim closed. This is my first claim with CHW, and the experience has been really awful.

I called into CHW to complain and was assigned a case manager. She simply restated that CHW would only cover repair cost for a builder's grade system. I explained that looking up any heat pump compressor online would show costs in excess of $1,625. I asked her how they came up with that amount and she would not answer. She said that amount would be all I would get unless I wanted to re-open the claim, warning me that this would further delay the repair of my system. Given no negotiation and no alternative, I agreed to re-open the claim. Now, I'm waiting to go through the whole cycle again.

am filing a formal complaint against…

I am filing a formal complaint against Home Warranty Services USA for deceptive advertising, misrepresentation, coercive sales practices, and unlawful obstruction of cancellation and refunds. I received a letter marked “urgent” that falsely appeared to come from my mortgage lender, deliberately designed to create fear and a false sense of urgency. When I called the number on the letter, I was not connected to my lender, but instead routed to Home Warranty Services USA without clear disclosure. During the call, the salesperson used aggressive and misleading tactics, including stating that I would be “in big trouble” if I did not immediately purchase a policy. This is particularly egregious because the same representative admitted that consumers should not buy a home warranty if they do not need one, yet continued to pressure me into purchasing coverage anyway. I was explicitly promised that I could cancel within 30 days if dissatisfied, and based on that representation, I paid $295. Shortly thereafter, I discovered the policy included an excessive recurring monthly charge of approximately $200 for appliance coverage I do not need, as my appliances are new. When I attempted to exercise my right to cancel, multiple representatives refused to process the cancellation, delayed intentionally, behaved in a hostile and unprofessional manner, and one individual threatened to “blacklist” me for demanding a refund. These actions strongly suggest an intentional attempt to prevent consumers from canceling within the promised refund period. Only after repeated calls and explicitly stating my intent to file complaints alleging fraud, deceptive trade practices, and violations of consumer protection laws did a representative agree to issue a refund. I believe Home Warranty Services USA engages in a pattern of misleading solicitations, false urgency, material misrepresentations, intimidation, and refund obstruction in order to extract and retain consumer payments, and I am requesting immediate confirmation of a full refund of my $295 as well as a formal investigation into these practices.

Select Home Warranty

Select Home Warranty: File a claim for a Cloths Washer. They can't find anyone to come out after a week. They keep saying the techs are backed up, and I may find my own but pre authorized up to a 100 bucks. I can't find a tech who would come out and troubleshoot for a 100 bucks, not these days. They advertise they have the largest tech network, will find a tech in 3 days. If it was my job or someone paid me to find a tech in a week I think I could.

Select home warranty rip off avoid at all codt10/8…

I signed up with select home warranty for appliances . I was surprised when I had a problem with my freezer wasn't keeping things frozen and my ice maker stopped working . Had trouble getting g through to claims when I did was told I would need to file 2 claims as refrigerator and ice maker even though built in refrigerator would need 2 companies to service so instead of an 80 dollar charge I would be charged 160 for the one appliance. Then they told me I didn't have A policy on the ice maker which I could purchase for an additional 139 dollars in addition to the 160 dollar service charge
I then asked to cancel both of my policies and was informed I would have to pay a cancellation fee on both my homes policies. First time trying to utilize my coverage felt was a rip off would recommend avoid select home warranty if contacted by them run the other way

Initial call to Sears was to have a… freezer refrigerator repaired with an additional request to add repair for a washer and dishwasher

Initial call to Sears was to have a freezer repaired under my warranty. The technician came and sprayed my freezer with water. Said the job was complete. “Give it a couple of hours and that’s all it needed.” as he walked out. After the fee was collected. The next day I still had no ice… I contacted at Sears back They then rescheduled an appointment. No one showed for this appointment. By end of day when I contacted Sears back, they had automatically given me a new appointment two weeks out. I was disgruntled and called the customer service. They told me they were sorry for the inconvenience but could reschedule a new appointment when I contacted them for someone else to come out. No one showed once again. I contacted the customer service and requested to cancel my warranty and was then told that they would make sure it was escalated to another department and once again, “sorry for the inconvenience”. Another appointment was then set up at which this time I received several text messages and a few representative phone calls confirming the appointment for 15th of September leading up to and including the day of. I once again took off work. No one showed up. I waited till 4:55 PM because the schedule was for an all day opening of 8 AM to 5 PM. When I was finally able to reach a representative they told me the new appointment had been pushed to September 22. I then told them that was unacceptable and that I could not take another day off work and wish to cancel the services completely. They then told me they were “so sorry” with there very passive aggressive tone. Stating that they could not cancel in the moment. I would have to wait and call back the following day as they cannot do that on the phone same day. This is the worst service I have ever received!! It is as if they do not care about their customers. There was a time when Sears stood for Quality, Care, and consideration for their clients. I would not recommend wasting your time as there is no follow up from their offices. And No technician will show up at your door!

All home warranty companies are a scam

Do NOT go with Choice Home Warranty. It takes weeks or months to get a technician out to your home and most of them seemed inexperienced.

Do NOT go with Select Home Warranty because they will deny your claims. They will send you an email within an hour with some policy quote why they denied it. Even if you call them to appeal or clarify the claim, they still deny it.

Also, both Choice Home Warranty and Select Home Warranty customer service seems to be handled overseas. Every customer service representatives sounded like foreigners. It’s funny because when you initially talk to someone to get a quote and sign up, they speak perfect English and sound 100% American citizens.

I’ve invested in several home warranty companies since 2020 and they are all scams, even American Home Shield.

Choice home warranty is horrible sub…

Choice home warranty is horrible sub par contractors .Compressor went out on a repair previously done by a contractor from choice home warranty. The compressor was faulty and didn’t even last four months.. I’ve been waiting four weeks in the middle of summer to get a contractor to fix my refrigerator.. they tried to send the same contractor out again. Never got an invoice. Never got a follow up. Never got my icemaker fixed nothing. Company only pays a certain amount on what they’re gonna fix in your contract. if there’s an added charge to your repair, The company makes you pay the difference between the repair amount and what the contractor is charging choice home warranty. So two repairs not only did I pay the 85.00 service fee.I had to pay extra to get my air conditioning fixed because choice would not pay for the cleaning service for the repair it’s supposed to be covered.Every repair on your AC heater unit gets cleaned after the parts are replaced. But choice home warranty only pays partial repair costs you get stuck for the rest of.Because they say it’s not covered.Horrible customer service too it’s always 3 to 4 weeks before you can get an appointment to get your repair started .

WE filed a small claim with Choice Home…

WE filed a small claim with Choice Home Warranty. We've been with them for about 4 years, always paying them for their services. Except this time, we needed help from them and they have been everything but helpful.
Our garage door broke. The spring snapped off and nearly shook our whole house late night about 5 nights ago. We struggled lifting the door up in order to get our car out of the garage. We needed help from some friends. In the morning (June 25) We called Choice warranties to file a claim. We soon realized that everything was to be done by email. So, while we have no garage to lock or protect our car, we filed our claim via an email and waited...for over 24 hours before we receive an email tell us they would contact a repairman. Apparently they were "unable" to do that so, after another 24 hours of waiting, we received another email saying that we could now contact a repairman and we would need to get an estimate from the company we contacted, then file it via email on their claim form. We got the estimate ($519.00) and then, attempted to file it on their website, but it wouldn't work. After clicking on "submit" it kept saying our paperwork was not filed properly...or something like that.
Now here is the problem: We have now attepted to file this claim eleven (11) different times but their site still says it's essentially our problem. Well the problem with that is we have called "Customer Service" 6 times and 5 of those times, one of their own representatives tried to walk us through it and they couldn't do it! So, after their failures, they told us to have the company who wrote the estimate to file the claim. Same issue!! They tried for nearly 2 hours and they gave up.
So now, here we sit. We don't know what to do. We have a broken garage door and we have a company who seems to rave about their quality control yet they will not help us file this claim! We have followed everything they have told us to do, but it still will not submit. Their own representatives have tried everything and they can't get it submitted even though they admitted all our information was accurate and properly listed. They only thing we can conclude is, "Choice Home Warranties" is a fraudulent company. They have purposely created a file system that frustrates people so they will just pay the claim themselves to get the work done out of shear frustration with this company. We will probably try a few more dozen times then probably in a couple weeks out of shear frustration, we will pay for a company to fix our garage since "Choice Home Warranties" will not "fix" their submission process. Then we will dump this company as fast as we can. But then, our only retort will be to write as many reviews on the company as possible. In our view, they are fraudulent company that creates false claims to fool people to pay for their services. We can only hope that Trustpilot will use this review to keep other people from trusting this company. Pease, if you are reading our review, please know we are not "complaining" people. We just expected that what we have been paying for for several years would come to our aide and fix our garage door. Please...save yourself major frustrations. Please do not consider Choice Home Warranties for your home protection. They have really hurt us and let us down. And apparently they don't care. Thank you for reading.

Liberty Home Warranty is one of the…

Liberty Home Warranty is one of the biggest scamsand out there. Every claim I put through there was an issue. I just put a claim through for air conditioning repair. Turns out I need a new unit. They quoted me a price for $7,000 plus for a Goodman AC minus $2,000 that they would reimburse me for a total cost to me for $5+. Meanwhile I obtained a quote from a service company that quoted $5,500 for the same system with installation so in realty that weren’t given me the $2,000 reimbursement. I contacted them to see if the could just send me the $2,000 and I would purchase my own. I was told a resounding no, that if did that they would need proof of purchase and only send me $750. I told them to cancel and I was informed that if I did that the claim wouldn’t be honored. I said but I was covered when I put the claim in but he said it didn’t matter. I told him to cancel and they didn’t. I was still charge my monthly fee. They are horrible and just wanted to warn everyone to steer clear of them

Misrepresentation of coverage - Beware!

Select Home Warranty does not disclose to consumers prior to purchasing their warranty products that when you file a claim and repairs are needed they will request 3 years of maintenance records. If you cannot produce those maintenance records the coverage they provide will only be a paultry $150.00 at best. If you are purchasing a home new to you and looking for a transparent warranty company, with good customer service, DO NOT use this company. Their representation of what they cover is misrepresented and the maintenance record requirement is only disclosed after you purchase a warranty with them.

The worst home warranty company ever!

Scam! Scam! Scam! I believe this company is the worst home warranty provider in the USA. They were having a promotion and of course I took the bait and it became one of the worst decisions I've made. Please note that any positive reviews you see on them are from those who have not filed a claim. They deserve zero stars but I had to give one in order to post the review. Let me walk you through their process:
1. First you must file a claim and this needs to be done with a phone call between the hours of 9:00 to 5pm - no holidays & no weekend so forget an emergency.
2. Once you finally get your claim submitted, good luck with getting a company to come out and repair your item. I had to go through three companies before someone would finally come out to just look at the problem. 3. If the item can be repaired then that's a good thing but wait a minute..... Now you have to wait for 30 days after the repair to make another claim no matter what breaks down.
4. If your item cannot be repaired they give you a cash in lieu which of course is never enough to cover the new item. Remember those 30 days? Your check will NOT be PROCESSED until 30 days after the repair person sends them a report that the item is unrepairable and you will NEVER EVER speak with the billing department because you have to wait until they call you.( They never call).
5. After the 30 days your check is finally processed but .....you have to wait 30 more days to get it in the mail, and if it does not come, then the 30 day process starts again when you request a new check to be sent. Remember, NO new claims while you're waiting.
Guess what? It has been 6 months and I'm still waiting for my cash in lieu check and now my home warranty has expired. Of course I did not renew and that is why I'm still waiting. I call every week for an update and I keep getting a runaround.

I recently completed a Home Warranty…

I recently completed a Home Warranty program with SELECT HOME WARRANTY, 3 years and 6 months. I filed over 11 claims during that time. Over 50% were denied for one reason or another. I had nothing but problems with every claim that I initiated. The customer service was very difficult with resolving issues. I almost always had to ask for a supervisor (which took several days at best). I will look for a new home warranty company and I suggest you avoid SelectHomeWarranty.
