Holistic dentist doesn’t know what she is doing
To Whom It May Concern:
Dr. Jamie Greear-Schmidt of Holistic Life Dentistry in Littleton, Colorado was my holistic dental provider from Monday, September 15, 2025, through Monday, October 13, 2025.
From the first call with Allison Gaynor, her incredibly kind front-office employee, I felt very comfortable going to this dentist. It should be known immediately that the buck stops there. There is a very good reason Dr. Greear-Schmidt has Ali running her office. Ali is incredibly kind, genuine, and honest people. Frankly, it hurts my heart to write this about her employer.
In hindsight, I can see where I went wrong trusting this dentist. The staff made me feel comfortable, but I believe wholeheartedly Dr. Jamie is a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Her staff runs her office while she robs people of their money with shotty work she calls “holistic dentistry.” I even referred several people to her after my first appointment because I really liked the staff and thought my gut was wrong about the dentist herself.
After my initial appointment—just x-rays and a “game plan” totaling upward of $20,000 without even taking the time to examine me—I should have known better. She relies solely on x-rays for expensive repair work and leaves the real work to her staff. I had several cavities needing attention, but those weren’t of interest because they weren’t the big-ticket sale she was aiming for.
After referring people, a few clients told me they found information about her I should look into. Unfortunately, I had already paid her $650 for a mouth guard and $1,600 each for two crowns. She doesn’t accept insurance, and I paid cash, so I can’t even have my credit card company go to bat for me. Don’t make the same mistake. Wait to pay until the work is complete. If you’re reading this after you’ve already been her patient, I’m sorry—you’ll never get your money back after she ruins your dental experience too. It’s bad enough having someone work on your mouth, but to find out a snake was in there, you’ll have some PTSD too. Thanks for that, Dr. Jamie.
One of my crowns (#31) came off within 3 weeks, and of course their office schedule forced me to seek other treatment. Looking at her x-ray, you can clearly see a gap between the crown and the tooth, which is why it came off (in my opinion). Another dentist x-rayed it with the crown resting in place and refused to reset it because it wasn’t up to her standards. #20, however, looks fine and she’d reset that one if needed. Crown #31 should never have been set the way it was. It needed more work, but since she was already paid, she just popped it in and sent me on my way.
When I questioned why we’d make a mouth guard when I had so much future work ahead that would alter my mouth, she said she could adjust it as we made changes. I just know now she would’ve tried selling me another once it weakened from so many adjustments. That $650 guard probably covered her car payment. The greed is gross. Almost as gross as her nasty response when I respectfully requested a refund for the poorly done crown. She had two choices: (a) apologize and refund me, or (b) blame me, be defensive, and get mad that I sought treatment elsewhere when her office was closed. She chose (b).
I felt it absolutely necessary to share my experience so others can avoid the same loss and trauma of working with someone so unprofessional and poor at their job. There is a reason she costs so much—it’s not because she’s holistic, it’s because she only keeps patients long enough to rake them over the coals.
