This is my second review to this…
This is my second review to this website. I find they are a fraud! They closed my account and deleted my registration after I have been chasing them to refund me on a double payment they took from me with a 3 days difference. Don't use this website, impossible to contact them, no telephone number. I don't understand how are they allowed to be up and running after cheating on people.
I was a petsitter
I was a petsitter. I said I lived In the West of Glasgow so,thousands of residents there.
Holidog has now cancelled my account
Don't have anything to do with this company I'm a journalist and have found no legitimate address for them plus no email address, no contact available.
Impossible to get help to register
I found what looked like a brilliant match for a dog sitter but couldn’t get a message to them. I repeatedly got asked to login but there were no instructions for how to register!!!! Please help
My review comes as a pet sitter…
My review comes as a pet sitter of Holidog's since 2014.
In the first year it was apparent that Holidog were not transparent about their subscription charge, in order to use the website and book sitters. This (very much) fell on me and others as sitters, to explain the subscription and provide instructions on how to "book" sitters.
Another issue is that owners are able to subscribe and book their chosen sitter without any dialog, which often led to issues such as having multiple dogs that were not spayed/castrated without prior warning, or hosting to a dog that does not mix well with others. The only information a sitter is provided (dog booking requests) are: name, age and breed. It is then up to the owners to message the sitter with the dog's information such as character, friendly with others or not, spayed/castrated, habits, reactive, lead-pulling etc. I would ask these questions, but I can't speak on behalf of other sitters. I was often amazed with the lack of information, or false information, provided by owners which left me overwhelmed or unprepared. Holidog does not require much information from owners, leaving sitters out of their depth at times.
Despite 5* reviews from EVERY owner over the years, Holidog accepted a review based on a 'meet & greet' from an owner. This review was damming, incorrect and simply slanderous. Holidog questioned me on this, and I explained what happened along with video and picture evidence. I was advised that I would be informed on the outcome of the investigation, but I heard nothing more. I later found out that the owner received a refund from the subscription, it seems I was used to fabricate their refund request.
My Holidog profile is now closed and I use "Rover", as a comparison it is far better. I highly recommend!
On the plus side, it gave me a lot of experience over the course of a decade and I have now branched out with my own branding.
If you use Holidog, please be extremely cautious. Meet the sitter before the booking and if possible, arrange a few playdates/sleepovers in the run up to the booking, to make sure everyone is happy.
If the sitter has little/no reviews and charges very little p/day, be vigilant.

Many of the apparent available dog…
Many of the apparent available dog sitters are not actually available once you try and book them despite the site stating they are. I got less than a 20% response rate to my messages to 'available sitters''. Customer service then refuse a refund of fees paid to contact these unavailable sitters.
Seems that Holidog isn't what we may…
Seems that Holidog isn't what we may hope for. I found someone in close proximity to me via the free search that could accommodate my needs. Once the subscription of £57 was paid they disappeared. Several attempts were made to contact them again without success. I had further notification from others that weren't anywhere close to me. In addition the price went up three fold.
I have requested a refund although I don't hold much hope given other reviews
Never ever trust this service
Never ever trust this service. They are completely unreliable and should be avoided at all costs.

Bad experience.....I contacted several via their website but received no reply and the ones who did were not suitable or failed go ahead.
I paid Holidog £57.00 for three month subscription & further £4.90 to get contact details of the person to discuss my booking.
Today, I messaged Holidog from their website to refund or £57.00 & £4.90 and cancel my subscription and they deleted my a/c and did not reply to me. I am going to report them to my credit card company if they fail to refund my money.
Please do not trust them as most of the people on their site do not reply. Waste of time & your money.
Possible fraud
Bad experience.....I contacted a couple of people to look after my dogs and none of the people actually contacted me. Out of the blue I got a contract from someone called Claire from Wakefield her price came up as £300 for 5 day holiday which would be fine but for the fact that she was advertising her services as a dog sitter for £12 per day. After question the situation as I strongly felt it was a scam I questioned it to be told your a joke! I actually work in fraud so straight away realised something is definitely isn't right..... regardless of this person saying they have numerous reviews processed with caution as this could be a fake profile and website up to steal your money
Is highly overpriced …
Is highly overpriced 60£ every 3 months I think that’s little bit too much
Do NOT trust Holidog
Do NOT trust Holidog. They do not respect consumer rights or abide by online legislation. They will lie to you, string you along and take your money, it's that simple.
Money over safety of animals?
From my experience they seem to prioritise money than the health and safety of dogs.
They get quick money from subscription without confirmation of a sitter.
So you can end up paying £57 for 3 months minimum subscription and no sitter at the end.
Scam
After membership cancellation they still taking money from my account.there is not any customer service.

Very quick and reassuring response to my query.
Stealing money from my bank account…
Stealing money from my bank account despite cancelling membership and several emails to Mary from Holidog.
Mary is responding to the dog sitter I booked but continues to ignore my emails.
Currently going through the fraud process with my bank and will be reporting the situation to ActionFraudUK too.
I can't believe that this company gets…
I can't believe that this company gets away with the tricks that it does , most of the sitters either don't exist or cannot be bothered . The mailing system is a total joke it's basically a scam website that wants to get hold of your credit card details, as I said most of the so called dog sitters don't reply. There are much better and cheaper sites on the internet that actually work
Don't waste your time
Don't waste your time. I contact 20 carefully selected individuals (based on their profile) within a 3 mile radius. Not a single one replied. Instead, without my permission, holidog shared my details across their database and I was contacted by random people, sometimes as far as 20 miles away, and completely unsuitable for my needs.
Very useful service for emergency pet…
Very useful service for emergency pet hosting, lots of available sitters in and around Paris at reasonable rates.
