Left with darker hair instead of blonde balayage

I had a disappointing experience with this salon over several visits.
After an initial balayage I wasn’t happy with (first it was blue, then grey, then the 3rd attempt was ok), the manager contacted me and offered a complimentary appointment with another stylist, which I appreciated.
A couple of months later I returned to the same stylist and showed her a reference photo for a blonde balayage. She said she could do it, but after several hours my hair ended up significantly darker than my natural colour with very little blonde. All of the blonde previously in my hair was essentially gone.
The stylist did not charge me when she saw I was unhappy, which I appreciated, but I now have to go elsewhere to correct the colour. This will likely require additional bleaching and potentially more damage than would have been necessary.
When I contacted the manager afterwards to explain the situation, he responded dismissively and told me not to contact him again, which I found very surprising given his earlier involvement.
Overall a very frustrating and time wasting experience.
I would recommend discussing very clearly with the stylist whether she is actually able to achieve the result you want before committing to the appointment.

second visit a poor experience

First visit as new client went well, nice cut, decent colour and pleasant attention. Second time different: water all down my back twice with washes, cut not what i wanted, she didn’t check with me and colour not what I wanted this time and the colourist seemed out of her depth asking for advice from a colleague, not inspiring much confidence in me. I felt the girls didn’t communicate with each other and I overheard the receptionist complain about something someone had said to her. It wasn’t a good ambience. something was off. Won’t go again.

WARNING! SCAM!

WARNING! SCAM!
TLDR: Was charged for expensive services I hadn’t requested and was blatantly lied to when I queried it. Details below. Be very, very careful before you book an appointment at this salon.

I booked a balayage appointment, which requires a mandatory blow dry and toner, each paid for separately. I went and had my appointment and then went to pay. As well as those three services, they had added another expensive toner and a Plex treatment. The blow-dry cost was also much higher than advertised. I was an idiot and just tapped down my card without disputing this because I was so shocked. I walked back in 5 minutes later to have a conversation and request a refund, and although this was a straightforward overcharge issue, I was told to come back another day when the colourist was in.

I returned in on Monday to explain again the problem. To my shock, I was blatantly lied to. They claimed that they had told me during the consultation exactly what treatments they were booking, and how much they would cost. They then said that they had repeated this information when I came for the appointment. Neither of these conversations occurred, and I couldn’t do anything when they were straight out lying. The manager told me she was ending the conversation, and there was nothing I could do except leave.

(Note the overcharging on the blow dry was because I was given a ‘senior stylist’ rather than a ‘stylist’, without being told, and also because my hair was curled. When a hairdresser asks you how would you like your hair styled, and you ask for beach waves you never imagine they will charge more, I’ve never heard of that. And again, no cost was mentioned, or the fact there would be an extra charge).

It was a significant amount of money, and I am still pursuing this through my bank as a fraudulent charge and the HOB head office. I will update if the head office is any more helpful than this salon was.

Very disappointing, will not be coming back.

Would give zero stars if I could

Totally ruined my hair. I have called and emailed to no avail. I will write this to save others the same experience and expense to rectify! I messaged Loughton multiple times about my hair colour and that I was given a permanent colour over balayage when I specifically came in for a semi on roots. I’ve now got roots, which is the reason I have the semis instead so I’m not overly happy that I’ve paid for this and now I’m left with a situation where I’m going to have to colour my hair Indefinitely plus now needing to bleach if wanting to go back to the balayage colour I had before. If not , I’ll have to find some way of managing it by having permanent all the time or much more frequent semis to avoid the regrowth looking so dramatic - totally
Ruined my previous balayage

I have already called the salon and been in and she washed it with clarifying shampoo/ but obviously this won’t take away permanent colour. She also advised me to wash my hair with washing up liquid at home, advising that this might help the colour fade a little!!! The colour is permanent and not semi so this isn’t possible. I am extremely unhappy to be with a full head of almost black hair with my roots coming through. My balayage now looks terrible because it’s very light at the ends compared to the black dye she used so this error means I’m going to have to spend a fortune correcting it for many many months if not a few years to come. I came in with my usual very basic request which was a mid natural brown semi, and now I have almost black hair and my balayage is about 7 tones lighter. I haven’t been replied to , I have just been told I should have face framing highlights to make the colour less dark! I wouldn’t need to do this had I had the semi. I don’t see why I should come in and spend hundreds pounds - ongoing forever , to rectify this. I now have black head and red / caramel ends, what a disaster. The only way to fix is to spend hundreds / towards the thousands over the next few months and they won’t even apologise

I wish I never went to Hobs Stanmore

I booked half head of highlights, cut and blow dry and it cost me nearly £300 at Stanmore Hobs. And I swear it looks awful. I was so taken by surprise I didn't know how to retaliate. The lady who booked me, never explained who would be doing my hair. I was thinking at least £200 max, I was crying all the way home. If you go, make sure you know who is the stylist and colourist, and how much they cost each on top of the services. Even their prices on their website is difficult to understand. How can hair cost £300? Even my friends was horrified when I told them. If you choose to go to Stanmore make sure you get your price beforehand, don't expect them to be decent, it's a money grab, and you don't even get a glass of champagne!! Shocking, it's put me off for life! With that money I could of booked a weekend away and I really wish I did.

cancelled with no warning

I booked an appointment at Hobs Salon in Rickmansworth for highlights and a blow dry ahead of my 21st birthday party. The stylist cancelled just an hour before. I was offered no compensation or alternative arrangements, which completely ruined my plans for this important occasion. I expected far better reliability and professionalism from a salon of this price point. It demonstrated a clear lack of customer service. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this salon.

Take your business elsewhere

I've been going to HOB Salons, Bushey for a while now, but after my last appointment 2 days ago, I'll go elsewhere.

I didn't feel like a valued customer for a start.
Sadly I am unhappy with the colour (hi lights). I feel like a 'spice girls' reunion project.
Stripped, gappy, and bled high lights.
For the small fortune that I paid, I should've had seamless, perfect hair, but I haven't.
And to add, their customer service don't want to know!!!

Neck got cut with scissors and wonky bob

I recently went to Mill Hill branch and left with a wonky bob and also hairdresser caught my neck with scissors. Have emailed head office and no reply. Showed family and partner Haircut which they agreed is wonky. I don't know how I can fix this and I paid for the service too which I shouldn't of done on reflection.

Ruislip Salon Awful experience will never go back

This is the 2nd time a junior has treated me like rubbish, she pulled my hair as always when washing it when I asked for conditioner she told me its in the Toner? When i asked for conditioner again i was told she put them in the ends!!!!! Surely im paying so I can stipulate what I want. When she rough dried my hair I asked her if she could brush it she said shes not using a round brush (more lip!) I said no I didn't say a round just brush it she said but its a rough dry (which doesn't include a brush) at a hairdressers!. She had really long nails which my hair got pulled on as she was drying my hair because she didn't want to use a brush when I insisted I said can you take the dead hair out she said but its your hair, again more back chat. Im fed up of your back chatting juniors that wont do a proper job considering I pay £180 for the awful experience again! When I left I was so angry even the lady that took my payment said shall I smooth your hair out before you go. At last someone has noticed the terrible job Ruislip Hob has done. For someone thats had radiotherapy and just wants a nice experience to try and keep the hair shes got you guys just don't care. When the Area Manager called me she was extremely rude and condescending and very defensive she didn't want hear what I had to say and didn't apologise once. Says it all. She proceeded to tell me she never pays for her hair or does it herself well done who cares about that! She said its their policy when having a rough dry to NOT use a brush or comb. So that implies it forces you to pay for blow dry. Wow how proud you all must be. She also told me I'm the only one to ever leave a 1 star review more lies.

HOB Salons

HOB Salons, Temple Fortune branch
AVOID THIS SALON PLEASE!

I was overcharged and very rude, condescending, defensive management when I tried explaining the situation.
I should of stayed away after reading the prior negative views before me.

I attended as a hair model for highlights, I was overcharged and they even took at tip without me initially realising, i found this out when I called the next day to find out how much I should of been charged as I had a feeling I was charged incorrectly.
After completion of my highlights and paying I was told by Sophia who was the colourist supervisor "that doesn't include a tip" when in fact I was in the process of leaving a tip but after being made to feel uncomfortable I decided not to tip given her comment, however despite not consenting to a tip they STILL took a £10 tip without my knowledge untill the next day when I called and enquired about the price I should of been charged.
The next day when I called to speak to the manager I believe her name was Laura she was extremely rude and defensive and did not believe Sofia her colleague mentioned 'tip' I asked them to please look at CCTV and audio for concrete evidence of what was said but this was dismissed. Through the conversation, Laura the manager referred to me as your 'only a model ' I was shocked by this comment and yet again I was made to feel very uncomfortable and belittled for being 'only a model' whilst I was only offering my services for a trainee to learn and having highlights completed
at a reasonable affordable price. Regardless of being a model or a full price paying customer I'm still human with feelings.

I am now waiting for my due monies that is owed to me, as a result of the overpayment this Salon stole from me, let's see if they have any decency in given me my owed monies back.
I am in disablief to have been treated in this manner, no customer should have to endure such a horrible situation.
Customer care in this salon was horfic.
However on a positive note the trainee was very pleasant and polite.
Management should take a leaf from her!

Awful experience

Having moved away 4 years ago, but in the Ruislip area on the 15th of December, I called to have a haircut and was booked for 10.15. I arrived on time but waited 15mn for hair wash. The girl was obviously not trained, she scrubbed my head like crazy, 2 shampoos, scratched me with her long nails, let massive amount of water get into my ears too. Then I was told my cutter would be delayed as she was doing another client’s hair. After strongly reacting, I was given another cutter (her own client would wait…). The cut was ok but I would have expected a commercial gesture of maybe a discount or a product sample, nothing but just a mild apology like sorry at this time of the year, we are very busy! OK but then manage your appointments better. Very disappointed as I highly rated hobs in the past.

Stanmore Hob -Very disappointed in the service

Very disappointed in the service I received when I visited the Stanmore salon on Friday 8th.
Desiree who has now left, gave great customer service whereas Jamiee was the total opposite.
I arrived at 08:57. Did not get seen by her until 09:14. No apologies at all. Having a gown put on me was an after thought from her side. Too busy holding her mobile phone.
I was left there for 9-10 minutes after the 20 mins was up, and the heater turned off. I had to call over another member of staff to go and get her.
Having my hair washed - She expected me to sit on quite a wet chair.
Another staff member dried my hair, very poorly. She told me to brush / comb my own hair. I left with damp hair, and she did not even take my gown from me. Such a horrible experience, especially as Desiree had been doing my hair for over 8 years.
Do not go to this salon, especially Jamiee

I’ve been going to the hob salon in Whetstone for years but not anymore after an awful experience two weeks ago. I went for some pampering and it was very much the opposite. When I made a complaint to customer services via email a week ago, I didn’t even get a response, let alone an acknowledgment. Really poor show hob salons. Doesn’t make your customers feel valued.
