Low tack tape killed my fathers wallpaper

Bought some low tack tape to tape my fathers wallpaper whilst painting his ceiling.After 3 hours of being on there we took it off and it ripped the whole lot of wallpaper off where it was stuck. Please use an alternative as this doesn't work. I emailed them and they were very demanding of requirements from me which I provided but then kept on asking questions and demanding unreasonable stuff. In short DO NOT USE. If you do you will almost certainly ruin your wallpaper (even though it says "safe for wallpaper" ) and you will get tied up in questions which were in my mind designed to make you eventually go away
