I love Hinge and recommend it often

I love Hinge and recommend it often. While I've never finished a program, I love being able to jump around programs and learn new moves. I did the knee program for a few weeks, learned some moves and saw improvement. Did the same with neck and shoulder. It's great to find new exercises to do. Everyone is always great and listens great.

Not for everyone

My physical therapist and health coach both seem very nice. However, the pt doesn’t listen/read my issues and seem to understand. I had surgery on my spine a few years back, making bending at the waist painful. I have bad nerve damage and scar tissue. I also cannot bend my big toes backwards due to arthritis. No matter how many times I reminded the pt to please stop giving me bending at the waist or toe bending back exercises, he just kept doing it. Saying he changed the routine to fix it, but he had just deleted a bad one and added a bad one. I thought maybe his exercises would actually help so I persisted through the pain. It got so bad I thought I may need surgery again. I quit doing all Hinge exercises and am feeling a lot better but it’s still not easy getting around.
They have great exercises besides the ones “assigned,” so once I can walk properly again, I may start those back up.

I Can't Argue With Results -But YOU Have to be Committed

What I like: Results. I am so much better off than I was 2 months ago. But it's 90% due to my OWN COMMITMENT.

What I don't like:
-The App is not intuitive, wrought with errors and basically junk.
- When I get a response from my "physical therapist" and/or "health coach" it's generic.
- The exercises, which DO HELP, are repetitive, standard and GENERIC.

I just don't think I'm getting individual attention.

I'm not sure what HH is getting paid by my private health insurance, but, I'm sure it's too much based on the interactions we have.

But again, due to MY OWN resolve, I am feeling better.

This company engages in spam marketing…

This company engages in spam marketing emails to try to force you to download their app. IF you use their exercises, they charge your insurance $250 a pop. NOT MEDICARE APPROVED. if you call to stop the spam, you get bullied. Egan, a classic example of toxic masculinity, doesn't like talking on the phone with strong women. I think he's intimidated. A complaint was filed with my union (who contracts with this nefarious company) AND the Better Business Bureau regarding spam mailings and their employees nasty attitude. He refused to connect me to his supervisor, after hanging up on me once. This is my response to that. He scolded me, instructing me not to "make a big deal of this". It IS a big deal when I get bullied for calling to stop the spam. IT REEKS OF ELDER ABUSE. CAVEAT EMPTOR. READ ALL THE BBB COMPLAINTS TO MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION ABOUT 'HINGE HEALTH'.

Enso 3 + Expert PT Support = Real Back Pain Improvement

I’ve been with Hinge Health for about four months, and I’m genuinely impressed with the progress I’ve made. My mobility has improved, my pain has decreased, and I finally feel like I’m moving in the right direction with my chronic lower back issues.

The combination of the app‑guided exercises and the Enso 3 device has been incredibly effective. But the biggest difference has come from working with my DPT, Lisa, who is truly outstanding. She listens, communicates clearly, and tailors everything to what my body needs. Our face‑to‑face virtual appointment went fantastic, and I always feel supported and understood.

I’m grateful for the care, the tools, and the progress I’ve made with Hinge Health — especially with DPT Lisa’s guidance.

Inappropriate behavior

After reaching out for information in the beginning of feb, I told the agent I wasn't interested at this time. Kristy has continued to harass me over text for the past 4 weeks, 2 or more texts a week. At least 6 messages since I've said no. have a chronic illness & am ASD, I dont have the capacity to deal with this type of continued harassment from your employees. Apparently your company doesnt understand consent & that no means no. I cant imagine a health care center with 0 respect for its patients, much less women. As a rape survivor who dealt with similar harrasment from the rapist, this has been completely triggering. Thank you making me re live that horrific experience for the last few weeks.

I need to change my previous review

I gave Hinge Health five stars a few months ago, but now I think it should be changed to three stars. Generally speaking, their doctors are excellent, at least for knee problems. However, the app on phones and tablets is terrible. Originally, the app displayed all the exercises from the beginner level to the most advanced, but now I can only see the highest level. Level 44 is fine for me, but I need to see all the other exercises for at least two reasons: 1. If my knee starts hurting again, I want to try an exercise higher than level 44. 2. As a Hinge Health Ambassador, I need to show all the options from low to high levels to people interested in the app. To regain access to all the exercises, I contacted their customer service multiple times, but they said they couldn't do anything. When I emphasized that the highest level is not suitable for beginners, they told me that newly registered users can see all the exercises. Naturally, I asked them to delete all my history data but keep my membership so I could see all the levels as they described. Customer service said they had forwarded my request to the relevant department. But several weeks have passed, and nothing has happened.

My current feeling is that their mobile app is good for new users but completely disregards existing users.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback and for your history as a Hinge Health Ambassador. I’ve read your review and completely understand your frustration—especially given your dedication to the program and your desire to share it with others. I’m sorry that your previous requests went unanswered for so long and that the recent app changes have made your experience difficult.

I wanted to provide some context on the changes you’re seeing in the app.

Regarding the change in "Levels": We recently updated the app to track past sessions by the date completed rather than by "level." This shift allows us to better capture how your Daily Playlists evolve over time to provide the right variety and intensity for your recovery.

Why you aren't seeing all exercises: Currently, the "Past Session" history only collects sessions completed from your Daily Playlists on the home page. Exercises done through the Explore tab are considered supplementary to your core care plan, so they don’t currently appear in that history log. This is why you’re only seeing your most recent, higher-intensity sessions.

I understand you need access to a "beginner" level session both for days when your knee flares up and for demonstrating the app to potential new members. I am looping in your PT to see what options are available to meet this need in the app.

Thank you again for being a valued member and Ambassador; we are committed to making sure the app works for you, not against you.

Sincerely,
The Hinge Health Team

PLEASE USE THIS APP it’sAmazing

My Husbands company offered this app to me after back surgery in April 2025
Doing this program 6 times a week changed my life. I finally had the energy and mobility again to ride my bike again. I have put over 700 miles on it since June 2025. I am able to walk and hike again and have logged over 200 miles and seen some amazing country.
My physical therapist offers encouragement and support. She is quick to change anything that is painful or too hard.
Their BROWSE feature lets you pick your own exercises to ease and stretch whatever is hurting or tight. They offer pain management info and send all kinds of props to help me achieve my goals.
THIS APP GOT this 68 y/o grandma moving. THANK YOU

Buyer beware their products will burn you

I was signed up for this app from my physical therapy department. I believe I’m not sure how it came about. I was really excited because it had lots of exercise due to me having several injuries. I wanted to get right on it and start doing these exercises plus they gave away a free exercise band kit, a yoga mat and an electronic shock device. exercise band kit, a yoga mat and a electronic shock device. Which is also known as tennis, which is also known as tinnis . Being that I was in a great deal of pain in my low back and my hip I was excited to try the electronic shock device and there was no restrictions on longevity time or intensity so I took it up to a pretty high intensity on my low back and my hip and I’ve left it on there for quite a while and I was burned severely. To the point where I couldn’t even lay down on my back because half of my skin got peeled away. I notified the hinge health department app customer service. They they said how sorry they were. They had somebody from a higher department reached out to me. The guy reached out to me and I said I wanted compensation for the doctor visit that I had to pay for and the nitrate cream I had to pay for and after I told them I wanted compensation I have never heard from them again. This company is so negligent they allow people just to get burned and don’t do anything about it and I asked them to delete my account they still haven’t done that either. I’m so disappointed in their product and how they could just allow it to burn me. Luckily, I didn’t have to be hospitalized but if it would’ve gone any deeper, it would’ve been a third-degree burn this is unacceptable for any company to allow this type of injury to happen and not to respond to any of my calls now because I asked for very little amount of money buyer beware do not use their products. They are dangerous and they can burn you.

Integrated System for Healthier Joints

I have been a user of Hinge Health for almost 4 years. Prior to my use of Hinge Health, I was constantly limping due to pain in my knees, and had to limit the types of activities/vacations we could schedule as a family. As a result of using the Hinge Health system, I have refreshed the muscles in my legs and been able to take numerous hikes across the US National Parks with my wife and 3 20+ year old sons. For me, the unique aspect offered by Hinge Health is the integration of both their tools (Application, sensors, meeting features, etc.) and their people (Physical Therapists and Coaches). With these, I was able to get both the guidance/feedback on the exercises identified for addressing my situation, and to be able to do it at my convenience in my own home for 15-30 minutes a day.

While I appreciate the concept Hinge…

While I appreciate the concept Hinge Health is difficult to personalize. I am a wheelchair user and my exercises are constantly being changed to standing. When I contact my PT it takes a while to get back to me and fix it. When I reached out to the company they said they were unable to place my exercises on hold. With the way you can customize so many things with technology it seems like this is either a case of not wanting to to extra work or a poorly designed app. Considering they charged my insurance a good chunk of change they are making a large profit with little effort put into the individual needs.

Hi Amy,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I truly appreciate your feedback, especially regarding the difficulties you’ve faced with personalization as a wheelchair user.

I understand how frustrating it is when the exercises don't match your needs and the progression feels rigid. As mentioned previously, the Hinge Health app is designed so that exercises progress automatically as you move through your program. Because changes to this functionality would impact all members across our platform, we currently aren’t able to pause exercise progression or place specific holds on that automation.

However, we want to ensure your routine works for you. Continuing to work closely with your physical therapist is the best way to make sure your routine remains manageable and relevant to your specific needs. I see that your PT has been in contact with you through the app, but to help speed things up, I will personally let your PT know about your feedback today. I will ask them for additional ideas and proactive adjustments to help make your experience as smooth as possible, so you aren't waiting on manual fixes for standing exercises.

We will learn from this experience and use your insights to help make our app more inclusive in the future. Your dedication to your health is important to us, and I assure you that our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Doing inventory?? For 10 days?? No help whatsoever.

The device I use is very helpful in relieving back spasms. After a couple years, the unit wasn't charging, so I messaged support about a replacement. It took several days for them to answer the email, but first thing they did was take the one i was using offline when they should have waited until I had the new one, which arrived a week later. The new one wouldn't charge, so messaged support again. Another week goes by, and they agree to send another one, but it will be 8-10 days because it's inventory time and all shipments are on hold! For me, this unit is as important as any medical device, and because they need 10 days to count things, I'm SOL. Ridiculous. They dont care. I do not recommend dealing with this company. Bad processes, very slow to respond, no commitment from employees. This problem started early October and two months later, I still don't have a working device.

Hi Deborah,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and disruption to your pain management routine. I know how critical the Enso device is for relief, and I am sorry that we let you down with these delays.

I’ve reviewed your account and can see that your replacement order was impacted by our annual end-of-year inventory count, which paused warehouse shipments from December 1st through December 5th. We recognize this timing was unfortunate and fell short of the supportive experience we aim to provide.

I can confirm that operations resumed on December 8th and your replacement device was delivered on December 12th. I am glad to see that you have been able to resume your treatment. Please reach out again if you run into any issues in the future. We are dedicated to providing excellent support and resolving any issues as quickly as possible.

Convenient physical therapy

Hinge Health has been such a great addition to our exercise routine. Both me and my husband use it 4-6x’s a week, since it’s so convenient at our schedules at home. We are both active young seniors, with pickleball, walking, dancing and gym workouts weekly. However, we also have our own joint issues. I have osteopenia and back pain. He has knee pain. We don’t want to stop exercising, but should address our pain issues before it gets worse. That’s where Hinge Health comes in! I saw an in person physical therapist, but the time it took to go in and do exercises didn’t seem worth it while I could do them at home. Hinge Health’s program has us on a great program virtually, and a PT to assist as needed. The exercise mat, bands and Enso are a plus! I love that it’s all included with our insurance too. I had a co-pay with the PT in person, who just gave me a sheet of paper to follow along at home. Many of the negative reviews here complained about the insurance company getting a bill. That doesn’t make sense to complain about that, since it’s obvious that’s going to happen but there’s nothing out of our pocket as a patient wirh our health insurance covering this. Thank you Hinge Health for helping us maintain our active lifestyle a little longer with the proper tools.

How Hinge Health changed my life.

I was invited to look into Hinge Health application why my wife noticed I was dealing with pain and walking funny. She recommended this app which was a benefit spouse's could use. The best part is I customize with the help of my own PT and customer design workouts. My pain vanished in 6 weeks but the joy of doing 10-12 minutes of meditation breathing while doing target stretches was creating long lasting pain relief.

I found the app to be helpful filled with articles for just about anything healthy lifestyle related with a major focus on strength training throughout each area.

Overall it’s easy to use and loaded with valuable resources and it might be free like it was for me..

Hinge Health member since…

I’ve been a Hinge Health member since 2020 joining during the pandemic as an alternative to in person Physical Therapy. I was provided this benefit through my work free of charge and thought I would give it a try. Fairly quickly I noticed improvement utilizing their custom guided program, coaching, and articles. Over the years, their programs have expanded, better technology utilizing your cell phone and more customizable routines. The support is amazing and staff wonderful. I highly recommend Hinge Health.
