12 nov blinds ordered and £1000 of the full bill(£1711) paid to cosultant.Having removed the existing 7 sets of curtains ,the appointment was cancelled less than 24 hrs before.Despite promising installation before christmas,they finally got fitted 23 jan2026.I had been promised a "goodwill payment" after installation.No,the fitter asked for £711.I paid and waited for Hillarys to contact me. Finally rang them and spoke to a really nasty woman,apparently it was my fault for taking the curtains down etc.She begrudgingly offered £75.I said my review would reflect this.She squeezed out another £25.I then spent a month arguing over a bodged vertical fitting and poor quality plastic rod on one venetian.Finally after a video call, a proper fitter showed up on 4march.The vertical had been mismeasured and needed replacing.25march fitting and new part for venetian.Meanwhile one of the other verticals no longer opens.6 page letter sent,no response.I rang the good fitter as I could not face Hillarys customer service anymore.He is coming tomorrow.It is now 20 weeks since ordering.Emailed ceo today.I wish I hadn't used them.

Go elsewhere.had a fitter out today about an ongoing problem with a shutter.he took it apart shaved the excess paint off and stated this shutter should never have been fitted it was made totally wrong the mechanism was also faulty .so ee then phoned customer service spoke to a very rude lady said she was the accounts manager .explained the problem we have had and what the advisor stated.she then informed us that even though we had reported the problem when they were still under warranty.which they failed to act on .she then stated they would not be doing anything as it was now out of warranty and accused us of not chasing them up to do the repair .she told us she was the manager and her word was final they would not be doing no repair.now I suggest anybody thinking of having blinds or shutters fitted .do.not use this company go elsewhere there after service is dusgusting .I only wish I'd read these reviews before purchasing from this company

The electric blinds work as expected, look great, match my decor and the curtains supplied are of good quality. Overall, we are highly satisfied with the installation and products fitted.

Ordered blinds quick to take the money said an assessor would contact me within two days of taking my money no call happened I had to call again and was told same thing again no call so called again two days ago was told sorry the assessor in your area is on holiday I said not my problem I have paid for a service and not receiving it said I will have a refund please and go elsewhere was told oh refund will be in 5-10days so that’s 4 weeks with my money and no communication unless you call them and get fobbed off no thanks
Beware of Hillarys blinds…
The pockets of the vertical blinds were so bulged that blinds could not close sufficiently and a 10mm gap was exposed at the base of the blinds when closed. On complaining blinds were replaced by a different material but the same problem was experienced and the company insisted that there is no manufacturing fault so no refund can be considered. In my opinion blinds are not fit for purpose so beware customers.

I naively believed the tv advertisement that tells us that one call and your blind situation is resolved. That was very far from my experience. The company installed blinds to my apex windows that did not go all the way to the top and I lost a good 20% of the light through these windows. At no point did the ‘installer’ tell me that this would be the case until he had put them up. I was not happy and whilst the company hounded me for the final payment I took them to the small claims court. They immediately repaid my deposit and legal fees but it was a traumatic experience that I would hate anyone else to have to go through. Unless you have the simplest of jobs do yourself a favour and do not use this dreadful company.

The sales department will be the nicest people in the world while they are trying to sell you something. The moment you need after-sales support, you will see a completely different side of the company.
They installed a £4,000 shutter in a property that is barely used. The blind has probably been used no more than 5–10 times, yet it already no longer closes properly and has dropped considerably.
When I contacted them to come and inspect the issue, they told me they would charge £75 just to send someone to look at it, and then they would quote an additional cost to repair it.
So essentially, after spending £4,000 on a product that failed almost immediately, the solution is to pay again just for them to check their own faulty installation.
This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. The company appears to invest heavily in marketing and sales, but the product quality and aftercare service are incredibly poor.
Save yourself the stress and do not use this company.

Extremely disappointed with Hillary's Blinds. I have used them for 30 years however following my treatment over the last 5 months I will never use them again.
I placed an order in September for 4 blinds and agreed on an installation date of the 30th November. This work was paid for in full in advance.
When the installer arrived, one had been made to the wrong size, so only 3 were fitted. I was told the correct sized blind would be made and - along with two additional blinds - would be installed before Christmas. That never happened. Every due date I am given I wait in and they never turn up.
Most recently after chasing, a new appointment was booked for Saturday 14th February. I stayed home all day specifically for this visit. No one showed up. No call. No message. Nothing.
I submitted an official complaint on the 23rd February with a demand for things to be resolved, with a solid timeline in place and they still refuse to engage with me in any meaningful manner. Even messaging me on the 5th March informing me they would attend on the 6th March forcing me to rearrange my work once more, and once again not bothering to turn up.
Every time I phone them they promise they will call back and never do, leaving me to chase and chase and chase. I hired them for peace of mind not to be forced to hound them over the simplest of jobs. I have my own workload and life to manage without having to manage their company for them.
I did not pay for a half-finished job and repeated broken promises. Months later, I’m still left with incomplete work and wasted time, having missed basically an entire week of work for nothing.
I had no question about paying a company I knew and trusted nearly £1,500 however it appears they have just taken my money and have no intention of completing the work nor returning the funds.
Poor communication, poor organisation, and completely unacceptable service bordering fraudulent.

Measurements were taken incorrectly in the first instance resulting in the fitter not being able to fit after waiting 12 weeks for shutters. Had another wait of a month for the area manager to come to see if he could fit them. After initial confidence at being able to do this he then discovered that we would not be able to open the French door as the runner for the shutters was in the way. No apology no communication regarding refund I had to chase this refund which took a month. My husband had to fill all the holes left and they did refund for materials eventually. No compensation on them having my money for 5 months. Terrible service I would never recommend them.

I paid for my curtains on 05/02 and was advised that the expert installer would need to survey the site again.
The expert, Grace Kisira, only contacted me on 09/02. I confirmed availability for the visit, however he did not attend, nor did he call to inform me.
I then called and suggested that if attending was inconvenient, I was happy to proceed using the original measurements taken by Christian. Following this, I received an appointment confirmation email implying the visit had taken place, which I accepted in order to avoid further delays.
As of 12/02, not only has my order still not been placed, but I have also received no communication to inform me that he did not have my order details on his iPad.
This level of service is extremely disappointing. The lack of attendance, communication, and progress on my paid order is unacceptable. I expect immediate clarification on:
• Whether my order has now been placed
• The confirmed installation timeline
• How this service failure will be rectified

We agreed to go with this company because it is one of the biggest in the UK and thought it would provide a good service. But regret our decision to go with them. We agreed on shutters for three rooms. Two bedrooms were installed however we found out that a shutter panel was missing from the living room order. The installation was back in early December. And since then we are still waiting for that panel to be remade and for the job to be completed. They gave us a second date for the installation of the missing panel in the second week of January. But the installer cancelled due to the product not being made. It has now been almost 6 weeks of waiting. We have not been given any information on what is causing the delay. The customer service staff don’t have a clue of what’s going on. They continue to ignore our emails requesting an update on the reason for the delay. We have been so frustrated with the handling of this matter and disappointed with the unprofessional manner in which they have dealt with this issue.

I had an appointment booked, received numerous reminders only for the advisor not to turn up, especially as you are given a 3 hour slot which required me to take a days holiday. I called and was told the advisor would not make the appointment as their car broke down! I can understand the issue but not to have phoned is not acceptable. A lost sale for yourselves.

Hillarys repeatedly mishandled my order, starting with failing to record my £1,200 deposit and quoting an incorrect outstanding balance. Communication was almost impossible to get through due to being kept on hold due to constant high call volumes, no manager call‑backs, and no written confirmation of corrections despite multiple long calls. The order itself contained errors, the installation date slipped from October to mid‑November, to install finally in late December due to their delays, and even the fitter arrived with just 15 minutes’ notice when I was still at work. After months of mistakes, delays, and zero accountability, I’m shocked at how badly this has been handled, I am now being chased up for an incorrect balance with a threatening letter which I am now having to respond to in writing to reclarify the correct details. Having spent thousands with Hillarys over the years, this experience has been unacceptable the level of inconvenience and poor service has put me off ordering again.

84 year old aunt ripped off with £500 a pair bedroom curtains 3 bedrooms total came to over £1600. Fitter put up wonky pole had to come back to put right curtains rubbish Customer service RUDE .NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND HILLARYS TO ANYBODY!!!!
