Disappointing

My experience with Hikerhouse.de was disappointing, especially when it comes to transparency and communication about stock and delivery times.
The website is unclear about what is actually in stock and when products can be delivered. Products are offered that are not directly available, without this being stated in advance. For example, I purchased a tent advertised with delivery in April, but by the end of April this had changed to May without any clear indication of when in May. A full month difference makes a big difference when planning a trip.
If you place an order with both available and unavailable items, the entire order is held back until everything is complete. As a result, you may receive nothing at all, even though part of the order could have been shipped earlier. Especially when you need the items for a planned trip, for which you may already have taken time off work or made other arrangements, this causes unnecessary stress.
The communication request form on their website also leaves much to be desired. Responses take a long time or clear information is not provided. This is especially frustrating because these purchases can involve large amounts of money, leaving you uncertain as a customer.
My advice for people looking for lightweight outdoor products: also consider ordering from Outdoorline.eu Their website is clear about stock availability and expected delivery times. I’ve had 3 separed orders delivered from Outdoorline in the time I waited for my Hikerhaus order.

In short: At the moment, Hikerhaus customers can pay in full for products that are not actually available, while delivery expectations remain vague and uncertain. That creates unnecessary confusion and frustration.
For expensive purchases like premium tents, customers deserve better transparency and reliability.

Very nice communication

I also cannot understand the negative reviews. Unfortunately, most people do not take a minute to read that not everything is immediately in stock because it has to be imported.
I had excellent contact with Mr. Egides, and he was able to help me quickly. Shipping was also excellent! I would gladly order again!

WORST SERVICE EVER

I bought a pair of shoes that were visibly used/damaged. They were dirty, the sole was damaged, there pieces between the holes of the sole so I asked them for the refund and also to pay the shipment cost (as it is normal in these cases).
They said that the shoes were new (I have photos to prove they were not) and they were not to pay for it, so If I wanted a refund I needed to pay from my own money to send them back to the store.
I have never had this kind of problems so I totally reccomend NOT TO BUY in this store.

The customer ordered a pair of Xero Shoes for 60€ instead of 120€, which we shipped with DHL two days later.

The initial complaint was that, after we dispatched the parcel, it only arrived abroad 8 days later. Unfortunately, we are not responsible for this, and in the case of international shipping, this can unfortunately be normal — especially in December, which was the month in question.

However, the main issue was that we allegedly sent a used shoe because of discoloration on the sole. We looked into this and found that the pair had never been sold to another customer. The shoes had only been tried on by customers in our store in Berlin. Since the pair had already been in our store for 2–3 years, it can happen that the sole, which is also light-colored, naturally becomes discolored. The upper material of the shoe, however, was in new condition, clean, and showed no discoloration whatsoever.

We explained this openly to the customer, but she was not understanding and demanded either a return at our expense or an additional discount. We offered either an extra 5€ discount or the option to return the item at her own expense.

We did not consider it our responsibility to cover the return shipping for a new, unused shoe that we had sold at half price and shipped abroad, at considerable postage cost, two days after the order was placed.
In the end, the customer accepted our offer and we refunded the additional 5€.

🇩🇪Guten Tag!
Die Kundin bestellte ein Xero Shoes Paar für 60€ statt 120€, welches wir nach zwei Tagen mit DHL verschickt haben. Der Vorwurf lag zuerst darin, dass das Paket nach unserem Versand erst 8 Tage später im Ausland ankam, wofür wir leider nicht verantwortlich sind und bei einem Auslandsversand leider auch normal sein kann, insbesondere im Monat Dezember in dem wir uns befanden.

Das Hauptproblem lag allerdings darin, dass wir einen benutzten Schuh aufgrund von Verfärbungen auf der Sohle versendet haben sollen. Allerdings hatten wir recherchiert und das Paar wurde Nie an einen anderen Kunden verkauft. Die Schuhe wurden ausschließlich von unseren Kunden mal in unserem Laden in Berlin anprobiert. Weil das Paar schon 2-3 Jahre in unserem Laden war, kann es vorkommen, dass die Sohle, die auch noch hell ist, natürlich verfärbt. Der Oberstoff des Schuhs war allerdings neuwertig sauber und hatte keinerlei Farbveränderungen. Das hatten wir der Kundin so offengelegt, die kein Verständnis dafür aufbringen konnte und entweder eine Rücksendung auf unsere Kosten forderte oder einen zusätzlichen Rabatt. Wir boten einen extra 5€ Rabatt an oder die Rücksendung des Artikels auf eigene Kosten an.

Wir sahen das nicht in unserer Verantwortung, die Rücksendung für einen neuen, unbenutzten Schuh zu tragen, den wir für halben Preis verkauft und ins Auslands für viel Porto nach zwei Tagen ab Bestellung verschickt haben. Im Endeffekt nahm die Kundin unser Angebot an und wir erstatten die 5€ extra.

I'm a happy customer

I initially had issues with my order, which eventually was thoroughly explained to me by the vendor. Everything was completely out of the vendor's control and I've know received my order. I'm very happy with my purchase and will return in the future. The store has a great selection of outdoor gear and equipment!

Don't even think about buying anything…

Don't even think about buying anything from this site. I ordered a tent 3 weeks in advance, it didn't arrive before I started hiking, I bought another one and only received it upon my return. They didn't process the order for about two weeks. Then I tried to contact them to return the goods, I don't need it anymore. A month later, no one responded, I can't even return the goods to them) Someone close this marketplace, I'm not the only one.

The customer received a same-day email response to 7 out of 8 of their messages. The customer stated the start date of their tour as early August, and the tent arrived on July 25.

On July 30, the customer cancelled the order. The money was, of course, refunded.
We had stated a shipping time of approximately 14 days. However, due to the customs situation in 2025, which is well known to everyone, we had to wait longer for our goods that were held up in customs. At that time, we had already informed customers on our website that such issues could currently occur. This customer was also informed accordingly.

To protect our reputation, we will therefore report this review.

Nevertheless, we would like to thank our customers for their continued trust!

🇩🇪Guten Tag! Wir möchten darauf aufmerksam machen, dass diese Bewertung verleumderisch ist. Wir sind uns sicher zu wissen, wer diese Bewertung verfasst hat. Der Kunde bekam auf 7/8 seiner Nachrichten, am selben Tag eine Antwort per Email. Er teilte als Startdatum seiner Tour Anfang August mit, das Zelt kam am 25.7.

Am 30.7. wurde der Auftrag vom Kunden widerrufen. Das Geld wurde natürlich erstattet. Wir hatten eine Versandzeit von ca. 14 Tagen hinterlegt, jedoch aufgrund der Zollsituation im Jahr 2025, die allen bekannt ist, mussten wir auf unsere im Zoll steckengebliebene Ware länger warten. Wir hatten zu diesem Zeitpunkt allerdings auf unserer Webseite schon darauf hingewiesen, dass sowelche Probleme auftreten können. Auch der Kunde wurde darüber informiert.

Um unseren Ruf zu schützen, werden wir anschließend diese Bewertung melden.

Trotzdessen bedanken wir uns bei unseren Kunden für deren anhaltendes Vertrauen!

Very friendly to deal with and quick to respond to my questions. Ordered a Tarptent to be sent to Sweden (very happy with the tent, by the way). Would definitely consider buying outdoor gear from them again.

It is now the 8th of october and, after multiple emails, I am still waiting for the refund.

Trusted service, but slow

Plus: great choice of different outdoor items. Easy ordering and safe payment.
Minus: if your order is delayed, don't expect updates, you'll need to proactively communicate. My order was shipped in 2 parts (without any notification of that).
Customer service: Though the communication is rather on a slow side, the service is good.
