misleading
There appears to be limited transparency about the origin and design of these bags. A quick internet search suggests that many of the bags, wallets, and similar items are designed by Myra USA and imported. However, Jacqui’s social media advertising and website imply that she designed many of them herself. For example, the “Ellie Everyday” bag is described as being inspired by Māori design: “The weaving pattern takes inspiration from the intricate tukutuku and weaving designs found within local marae, creating a bag that feels both timeless and deeply connected to craftsmanship and tradition.” Using Māori design language to promote a product that does not appear to be Māori-designed or locally made feels disrespectful and insulting to Māori culture.
I have purchased a couple of different bags from Hide Vibe but recently have bought the same bags as gifts directly from Myra USA for much cheaper.
