Written by the company

Heyma is a UK based mum & son food brand bringing bold, authentic South Indian flavours to everyday meals. Inspired by Hema’s (aka mum's) home cooking, we make food that reflects the recipes, traditions and flavours she grew up with. Our speciality is thokku, a rich South Indian condiment made by slowly cooking vegetables, herbs and spices until they become deeply flavourful whilst the cooking process preserves & ferments it. Thokku can be enjoyed as a dip or a marinade. Mix it with rice, use it as a base for sandwiches or wraps, marinate your meat, even use it as a base for sauces. It's really versatile, you can do a lot with it. We currently have Tomato, Onion, Garlic, Coriander & Spicy. Different flavours for different situations. Alongside our Thokku is our Chettinadu spice mix and comforting masala chai. The Spice Mix is my mum's homemade curry powder, think masala potatoes, curry bases and dry rubs for meats. The Masala Chai, we source the raw tea from India, Mum then toasts and grinds the spices, mixes it with the tea and fills the teabags/pouches so it's easy for you to have a great cup of chai at home. Heyma began at local markets, where Mum shared her cooking directly with customers and introduced more people to the flavours of South India. We now deliver our products across the UK while keeping the same personal, homemade approach. Everything is handmade at home in small batches, freshly prepared and made without added preservatives. For Mum, food is a way to bring people together and share the culture she loves. For us, Heyma is about making South Indian home cooking approachable, versatile and full of flavour, while giving every customer food that has been made with genuine care in every jar.

The tea was so amazing! It delivers an amazingly authentic flavor with the perfect balance of spice and richness in every single sip. I like to add a bit of milk with mine

Aura.

the aura that this sauce has is unmatched, Anton Ego from Ratatouille would find himself convulsing with unimaginable euphoria yet to be seen in his career.
