THE BEST!

We had been in the system of obtaining a diagnosis for ADHD and ASD for the previous two years, dealing with both community paediatricians and other private providers. HELD HEALTH were referred to us under the Right to Choose pathway and they didn't disappoint. Their processes were slick, the professionals we liaised with were fabulous and were clear experts in their field. Such a relief to deal with an organisation who aptly have the right name. We felt 'held' at all times of the process. We cannot thank you enough!

Held Health has been extremely disappointing and, frankly, concerning.

My daughter was referred for a Right to Choose ASD assessment on 12/03. I submitted all requested forms by 16/03 and received confirmation that they had been received. I was then later told by email that the parent assessment had not been completed, which makes no sense given that the paperwork had already been acknowledged.
Since then, I have sent emails and left voicemail messages, and nobody has responded. For a service dealing with children’s assessments and sensitive personal information, this lack of communication and apparent disorganisation is unacceptable.
What is especially concerning is the handling of the information already submitted. If forms were received and acknowledged, why am I now being told something is missing, and what has happened to the information provided? Given the sensitive nature of these forms, this raises serious concerns about record keeping and data handling.
When parents are seeking an autism assessment for their child, they need clear communication, accuracy and reassurance that personal information is being managed properly. Unfortunately, my experience so far has been the opposite.

Good afternoon

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I’m very sorry to hear about the frustration and concern this situation has caused.

We understand how important clear communication and accurate handling of information is—particularly when it relates to your child and sensitive personal data. From what you’ve described, this is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologise for your experience so far.

We would like to investigate this as a priority to understand what has happened with your daughter’s referral and the information you have already submitted, and to ensure this is resolved for you as quickly as possible.

To help us do this, we will be sending you a request via Trustpilot for some additional details so that we can locate your records and review this fully. Alternatively, you are very welcome to contact us directly using the details provided in our response, and we will ensure this is picked up urgently.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention—we take feedback like this seriously and will work quickly to put things right.

We have used Held Health for both ADHD and ASD

We have used Held Health through RTC and private assessments. Whilst the RTC application was smooth to navigate you do not get a dedicated contact support as you do with a private diagnosis. Having Jack as our primary contact both by phone and email was much more streamlined. All of the clinicians we saw for the ASD and ADHD appointments were kind, supportive and went beyond to help us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Held to anyone wanting to explore a diagnosis of ADHD or ASD

We had both of our sons assessed at…

We had both of our sons assessed at Held Health and had a wonderful experience with each. Our first son was assessed for both ADHD and Autism, and both assessments were completed in just 15 weeks.
Over seven years ago, we sought support from CAMHS for our second son and got nowhere, he was repeatedly rejected and discharged twice without our knowledge. He is now out of school entirely.
After such a positive experience with our first son, we decided to try Held Health for our second. I was honestly terrified, given the trauma we had been through at the hands of those who were supposed to help us. But every clinician we encountered was warm and professional, they put us at ease, and, most importantly, we felt truly listened to. He received his diagnosis in just 29 weeks.
A special mention must go to Jessica Hett, who was absolutely brilliant and incredibly knowledgeable. She is a real credit to the company. We are now hopeful that, with her report and recommendations, we can finally get our son into the right school and he can feel safe and happy in education for the first time in a very long time.
I am so grateful for everything Held Health has done for our family.
For anyone put off by reviews mentioning communication issues, yes, it can be frustrating at times, but staff do always get back to you. After years of being let down and ignored by the system, I'll take that any day.

We’re incredibly grateful that you trusted Held Health to support both of your sons, especially after the difficult experiences you’ve had previously. It means a great deal to hear that you felt listened to, supported, and treated with warmth and professionalism throughout your journey with us.

We’re so pleased that both assessments were completed in a timely way and that you now have the clarity and guidance needed to help move forward—particularly in securing the right educational support for your son. Your hope for him to feel safe and happy in school is exactly why we do what we do.

A special thank you for highlighting Jessica Hett—your kind words will absolutely be shared with her. She will be delighted to know the impact she has had.

We also really appreciate your honest feedback regarding communication. We know how important timely updates are, and we continue to work on improving this across all of our services.

Very misleading and shocking…

Very misleading and shocking communication. It tells you 20/28 weeks wait time once you are ready for assessment. What they don’t tell you is how long it takes to be ready for assessment. My GP submitted my son’s referral at the beginning of February. No confirmation it has been received, no response to email, telephone or call back. These processes are already a stressful time for parents without feeling totally ignored. While I do appreciate the demand for this service is high, a simple confirmation email is surely not too much to ask. I wish I had chosen a different provider.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us—we’re really sorry to hear about your experience with Held Health, and we can only imagine how difficult and frustrating this must feel, especially when you’re trying to support your son.

You’re absolutely right to expect clear communication from us, including confirmation that a referral has been received. We’re truly sorry that you’ve felt ignored at such an important and stressful time—that’s not the experience we want any family to have.

While demand for Held Health’s services is currently very high, we know that this doesn’t make the waiting or lack of updates any easier, and we’re actively working on improving both our response times and how we keep families informed throughout the process.

We would genuinely like to put this right for you. If you’re happy to, please reach out to me directly and I will personally ensure this is looked into as a priority. I’ll confirm the status of your son’s referral and guide you clearly through the next steps.

Thank you again for your honesty—it really helps us improve. We’re here to support you and your family, and we’d truly value the opportunity to make this right.

Helpful WORKSHOP

REALLY CLEAR WORKSHOP aims, clear delivery, well paced and informative. Claire gave clear pertinent information about autistic burnout, what to look for, why and how our child might experience it and how to ask schools for help, and as parent how we can help our child if they experience this. Also provided information after the session, and answered lots of questions that the attendees asked.

Would 100% Recommend

I had a brilliant experience with Held Health. We had our 3 appointments within the same month so there wasn't too much waiting in-between. Every professional I have spoken to has been so calm, polite and understanding. Our first appointment ran over but they didn't moan at all, they were happy to listen to all of my concerns which was such a nice change as other professionals have made me feel like a paranoid mum. During the in-person assessment the professional was so patient with my daughter, she didn't put any pressure on her and I could see that my daughter was as at ease as she can be when meeting new people. The diagnosis appointment was handled perfectly and felt really personal. Held Health noticed traits in my daughter that even I hadn't which was really helpful. My only niggle is that following the diagnosis we attended a workshop, this was 3 months post diagnosis and during it we were told about other workshops that had run, that it seemed quite a few people including myself hadn't been invited to. It seems as though there may be an issue with sending the invites out following diagnosis, so perhaps this can be looked in to but otherwise all in all I am extremely happy with the experience we have had with Held Health, thank you.

Great service from start to finish…

Great service from start to finish and were a life line at a time that we needed to ensure the right support for our eldest starting school. Initial contact via email / telephone responses were slower but I know they were inundated with referrals at the same time we were referred so keeping up with demand will have been challenging for them! But once in the system no complaints at all. We were listened to for the first time with care, compassion and understanding. Will be issuing again once our son reaches the age of ADHD diagnosis. The workshops post diagnosis are also really helpful!

Supportive webinar.

Pleased course offered. Usefu. Never got the invite to all the other courses would have liked to attend and would ask that you re run them please. Useful to be able to ask questions live and see others' experiences. Would HH consider having a moderated forum for your service users also, I know cost implication and GDPR implication.

Thank you so much for your feedback Rebecca—we’re really pleased to hear that you found the webinar helpful and that you valued being able to ask questions and hear from other families.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t receive invitations to some of the other courses you were interested in. This is something we’re actively looking into, as we want to make sure all families have equal access to the support and resources available to them. We also appreciate your suggestion about re-running sessions and will certainly take this on board as we continue to develop our workshop offering.

Your idea of a moderated forum is also a really thoughtful one. We recognise how valuable it can be for families to connect and share experiences, and while there are important considerations such as safeguarding, cost, and data protection, it’s something we’re continuing to explore.

If you’d like, please feel free to contact me directly and I’d be happy to ensure you’re included in future workshop communications.

Fantastic service

My daughter was referred to Held Health for a ASD assessment through the right to choose process. We were referred in September 2025 and received our autism diagnosis on the 25th February 2026. The entire process was fantastic. I had quick responses when I needed them from Held Health and every member of staff we dealt with was professional. I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Reginald and Phoebe who did our assessments. I would highly recommend Held Health if you are seeking a ASD/ADHD diagnosis.

Brilliant company, 100% recommend

Brilliant company with amazing clinicians. Just received an ADHD diagnosis for my daughter today, just 4 months after the GP referral was sent. I felt listened to without judgement by both clinicians I spoke to, and my daughter was spoken to with such care and thoughtfulness. 100% recommend them. I've seen other comments about communication being a problem, but I've had a quick response (same day) both times I needed to call them, and the whole process was quick and simple

I have found this company difficult to get hold of, ive not managed to get through by phone despite calling regularly. Emails go unanswered for weeks even when chased up. Highly professional and courteous.

After 2 gruelling years waiting for the LA to provide the Tribunal and High Court ordered EHCP Clinical Psychotherapy for our now significantly psychologically damaged autistic 16 year old son, due to years of unchecked school bullying and neglect of his EHCP provision, he is now, after only a few sessions with the caring, diligent, immensely personable and highly professional Dr Emily Hale, beginning to smile again and have his hopes and self-esteem returned to him. We have a long way to go, but our boy so looks forward to his weekly sessions with Emily, whom he trusts absolutely, and knows (as we do) that she is doing, and will continue to do, all she can to help ‘fix’ our damaged boy. We cannot recommend her highly enough, and are enormously grateful to her, and her dedicated and courteous team, for all the support and encouragement they are collectively providing our son, and us.
