Headshotly is a solid tool with strong potential, and much of my original experience with their customer service was positive.
Out of the full batch, I ended up with about 10–12 images that genuinely looked like me, which I was happy with. Some of the others didn’t quite capture my exact facial features, so it wasn’t a perfect match across the board.
Initially, I was told that the photos I submitted didn’t meet their standards, which likely affected the first results. That said, the support team allowed me to retrain my AI model with a new set of photos, and the results were about 90% better the second time around. A few images still weren’t accurate no matter what, but the improvement was very noticeable.
For transparency, I do want to add an update. I would have written a review regardless, but headshotly reached out and offered two additional AI model training credits as a thank-you. I accepted and completed the review in good faith. The credits were later retracted due to an internal miscommunication, which in itself is understandable. However, the follow-up communication felt dismissive in tone and positioned the situation as if I were being difficult or requesting something I hadn’t been offered.
I still believe the technology has a lot of potential, and when expectations are aligned, the support experience can be helpful. That said, clearer communication and a more respectful tone around post-review follow-ups would go a long way in building trust.
I’d recommend Headshotly to users who are willing to invest time in submitting high-quality photos, while also encouraging the team to be mindful of consistency and professionalism in customer interactions.
