I completed a review on H&O Direct which in their emails include the company named haodirect.co.uk in which the purchase I had made via Debenhams made it exceptional difficult to get a refund or indeed return unwanted items. I did eventually get a refund because I was persistent and refused what they wanted me to do ie keep the item and they would send me something (not specified) and for me to then sell the unwanted item. It was weird. I have just received the following response from them denying they are the same company. It is as follows

The fact that they ARE the same company is beyond belief because the email address is
haodirect See the email address is haodirect. I see this as gaslighting because they are claiming that I have made an error. Lets be clear I HAVE NOT MADE ANY ERROR IN IDENTIFYING THE COMPANY. I have proof via the emails the company sent me. It's no wonder the company is is financial difficulties.

Made an order from Debenhams but was from this company, ordered a toy and received a pair of slippers. Tried to contact both Debenhams and H&o direct but no answer back, a joke they don’t have a phone number

Ordered items on Debenhams website. Now wanting to return, getting emails from China. They are offering-50% discount. Am I not entitled to return and get full refund?

If I could give a minus I would. I ordered a jacket they sent completely the wrong one and now.wont give a refund or take the coat back for the refund, they have said its a 3rd party courier. I should of read the reviews first but I thought it was Debenhams I was dealing with. Stay away from H&O.

I purchased an item on 29/09/25,umfortunately it was not worth the money that I paid for it and was not a good fit. I have written to them twice to seek advice on how I return it and receive a refund, I have still to receive a reply from them. Poor poor customer service.

Got my delivery within 5 working days it was a fireplace. Zero communication from company so when you order do NOT expect any of your emails to be answered. So if something goes wrong with order your stuck with it, Fire place works well so far but if it stops working would be impossible to return.

Purchased a fire arrived week late damaged trying to return 9 weeks now ignoring emails Debenhams just as bad the whole experience has made me ill suffering with stress had a 6foot fire stuck in the middle of the room and a media wall half finished don’t know what to do can anyone help

Paid for express delivery but this took over a week.

Led crystal light looks great in my bedroom and was easy to fit would recommend it also price was very reasonable.

I've emailed to say I wish to return items. Acknowledgement emailed received asking why. I've responded and now they are ignoring me.

Left a 1-star review due to complexity of construction of bike shed purchased via HAO Direct. Noticed other 1-star reviews when posting…. All negative reviews have now been removed by HAO and only favourable reviews remain. Cannot trust the reviews on site which have clearly been doctored.

Do not buy

I bought two bikinis via Debenhams one was too small. Trying to obtain a return label & refund is proving impossible. Either their email bounces back, or they ignore me. Debenhams should have vetted them better.

DO NOT USE. I had a problem with an order that I placed. The make and model differed from what I thought and I tried to cancel 10 mins after placing it.
They have no contact details except email to which they do not respond.
Stay away.
