Such a compassionate service provided

Such a compassionate service provided from start to finish. Hand on Heart really understand the sentimental value of the products they produce. My beautiful soul dog passed away and I decided to have his ashes in a necklace. This necklace and the care I received from Hand on Heart made my grief slightly easier to bear. Thank you!

There's better out there

I bought a purple tear drop pendant with my Mum's ashes in back in 2021 when she passed away.
In 2024 it became discoloured and tarnished. My sisters also had issues. I contacted Hand on Heart and to be fair to them they issued a replacement as soon as possible. Last week the resin in the replacement pendant has lifted from the surround. I haven't contacted Hand on Heart this time as I don't have faith in their items but just wanted to let others know that if you do your research (which is a lot when dealing your grief and loss as well) there are companies who provide much better products.
I know there is a lot to consider, look at and deal with at these times but save yourself the heartache that myself and others have gone through. It might just be a necklace to someone but to me, it's my Mum.

This company markets their jewellery as…

This company markets their jewellery as something you can wear every day for comfort, to keep loved ones close. That was exactly why I bought it.
In reality, the necklace discoloured, which was devastating given it contains ashes and holds immense emotional value. Despite clearly explaining the distress this caused, the only solution offered was a 50% discount on a replacement because it was outside warranty.
For memorial jewellery, I find this unacceptable. When a company sells products based on emotional trust and permanence, the aftercare should reflect that. My experience did not match the care, compassion, or reassurance shown in their advertising.
I won’t be using them again and would urge others to think carefully before trusting them with something so irreplaceable.

Having reviewed your order, the necklace purchased in 2023 was one of our plated self-fill designs rather than a solid sterling silver piece. Customers can choose between plated and sterling silver options depending on how they intend to wear the jewellery.

Plated pieces offer a more affordable option and are suitable for occasional wear. However, for customers intending to wear their necklace every day - particularly as a permanent comfort piece - we always recommend sterling silver or solid gold. These metals are designed specifically for long-term daily wear and will not experience the same surface fading that plated jewellery naturally does over time. From the images provided, the necklace appears to have been worn consistently, which is completely understandable given its emotional importance. With that level of regular wear, sterling silver would have been the more durable choice.

The design in question has, to date, 236 genuine five-star reviews on our website. While that does not diminish how you personally feel, it does reflect that the vast majority of customers have been very happy with both the product and their experience.

Although your piece is outside of our warranty period, we offered a 50% contribution towards a replacement as a gesture of goodwill. We always aim to balance fairness with compassion, even where natural wear over time is consistent with the material chosen.

We are genuinely sorry that this experience has left you feeling disappointed. If you would like to discuss transferring your ashes bead into a sterling silver design, our team would be very happy to help.

Loved my ring but the glass part fell out after 2 years noone replies to my emails. Now I can't wear my ring anymore. Do not recommend

We do just want to clarify that we do not use glass in any of our designs. Our ashes pieces are created using specialist resin settings rather than glass, so the description doesn’t match our Designs.

Don't waste your money

Loved my necklace and then 2 years later it's black and tarnished. According to the company they can't add anti tarnish coating like major jewellers due to their production process. Apparently it's my fault because I actually wore my necklace!!!!! Buyer beware!!!!! If you want a precious keepsake, it won't last longer than a couple of years.

***Reply to their response - my silver heart necklace with my child's handprint contains no ashes as it isn't a memorial piece so that reply makes no sense. Yes I was offered to purchase a silver cloth from you for £5 (thanks but no thanks) and also told that the necklace itself would be beyond saving so I'd have to buy a new one of those. I'd rather spend my money on something that lasts. Thank you.

Firstly, we would like to reassure you - tarnish does not permanently damage or ruin a piece of jewellery. Sterling silver naturally reacts with air, moisture and skin oils over time, which can cause it to darken. This is a completely normal characteristic of silver and, importantly, it is easily cleaned and restored. In most cases, a simple polish or silver cleaning cloth will return the piece to its original finish.

With regards to anti-tarnish coatings, you are correct that we do not apply these to our ashes jewellery. This is because protective coatings can interfere with the delicate resin setting that securely holds the ashes in place. Preserving the integrity and safety of the memorial element is always our priority, so we avoid any additional chemical treatments that could compromise that area.

Wearing your necklace is absolutely not “your fault”. In fact, regular gentle wear often helps reduce tarnish, as movement and skin contact can slow oxidisation. That said, all sterling silver - even from major high street jewellers - will naturally tarnish over time and requires occasional maintenance.

Memorial jewellery is designed to last for many years, but like all fine jewellery, it does need periodic care. If you would like guidance on easily restoring the finish of your piece, our team would be very happy to help.

The remaining ashes of my beloved mum were returned in a gorgeous box and pouch with an authenticity certificate. I wear my necklace every day as does my daughter her ring in memory of her grandma. Taking advantage at Xmas

Upset that a previous customer was held over a barrel for a Xmas delivery. Wanted over £30 extra to guarantee it or it looks like they hold it and sent it out on the 22nd and used Royal Mail 48. Luckily I had it time but very poor tactics to get a few more quid. Will not use again because of this blackmail tactic. Update in response so if I choose quicker service when would I have got it ? as if you only make in order it still wouldn’t have been sent out to the 22? Or am I right you take the orders that paid more and priorities to send out early and returning customers get the gamble of r will it or won’t it turn up as tou hold back till thr very last ? Poor experience from a returning customers——- AVOID

We would just like to clarify that we don’t “hold” orders in order to upsell delivery. At checkout, customers are given a choice of delivery services, including standard and guaranteed options, so they can decide what best suits their timeframe and budget.

During the busy Christmas period in particular, we make it very clear which services are guaranteed and which are not.

If Royal Mail 48 was selected at checkout, we dispatch using that chosen service. We do not automatically upgrade or downgrade services, and we do not delay completed orders.

oval ring

ordered a ring for my 21st birthday with my brothers ashes who passed away last november. i was a little anxious about the whole process and sending his ashes off but i cannot fault hand on heart, the constant updates put my mind at rest and i’m in love with the precious ring that has been made. it’s the most special piece of jewellery that i own and i love that i can always have a piece of my brother with me. thankyou so much

Amazing ring!

A Beautiful Tribute to Mum

Amazing ring

Had a ring made with my dad's ashes after having an absolute shocking experience at a different ashes jewellery company. Hand in heart put my mind at rest after a little messaging as I was really nervous to trust someone again with something so precious, but they did an amazing job. Couldn't be happier. Beautiful and made with care

After loosing our dear cat after nearly 18 years, my daughter wanted a pendant to remember her by. Originally we ordered 2 x silver paw prints in the thought we would use some of her ashes however when we collected the ashes, her box was sealed so needed to rethink. The team were very quick to respond with a solution as we still wanted the paw print pendant. The team were super helpful in giving us other backdrop options so we could use some of our pets hair instead in the same pendant design. They arrived today (quicker than originally quoted) and beautifully packaged. They also returned any left over hair for us. Such beautiful pendants. Made with care and attention - thank you

I ordered an ashes necklace after my dad passed away. The attention to detail the kindness the information I was given throughout the process was great. Incredible customer service

Hands down the best customer service I’ve ever had. I had damage to my original ring and was heartbroken, but I wrote to Lucy on their team asking about repair options. They were so fast and kind with their response, offering to make me a replacement ring free of charge- the second ring was even more beautiful than the first. A wonderful company that I will always be grateful to!

Stunning Jewellery

My husband and I ordered my mother in law a memorial ashes peardrop necklace with a purple stone and silver belcher chain 16 - 18 inches. The necklace is stunning. The quality is excellent and the necklace looks expensive. My mother in law loves it so much. Hand on Heart staff kept us up to date with every step of receiving the ashes, estimated time for necklace to be made and delivery. Thank you for your amazing service xx

Helped to sooth my broken heart

We recently lost our special rescue girl and knew i wanted to do something with her ashes. After much research (3 hours at least!) I settled on Hand on Heart Jewellry and have not been disappointed.

I settled on a self-fill necklace & its beautiful. I received it promptly & itsm was beautifully presented, even the packaging was lovely!

Absolute gem of a company

If I could give more than 5* I would. I bought an ashes necklace from them in early 2021 after my dad passed in 2020. The service then was amazing and the necklace was fantastic. Unfortunately, 2 or so weeks ago, the ashes pendant came away from the setting. Devastated I contacted them asking for the best way to fix this, just expecting some advice. After being told that they didn’t feel they could fix it to a standard they would be happy with they then offered to replace it free of charge. Luckily I kept the leftover ashes they sent back to me the first time so I was able to send these off for the replacement to be made. I am so unbelievably grateful to this company for the way they have handled this and would recommend them to everyone.
