If I could do 0 stars, I would. If you want quick, efficient, professional work, don't use this company.
There will be significant delays, you will have to do the majority of the call chasing as they seem to heavily rely on email responses (which people obviously ignore) and you will not get any updates unless you ask constantly. Then you have to pay a load of money for a horrendous experience. Even if you complain to the manager, you won't get a response. They don't follow their own complaint policy, but will throw another policy at you if it means you get extra charges.
Save your money, sanity and time. Go somewhere else.

I stupidly recommended Hallam solicitors to my sister based on working with one of their ex employees in the past. I've never been so embarrassed by a recommendation, I should have checked more recent reviews. Suhail has been incredibly slow to act during all parts of the process, holding it up significantly, even taking 2 months to forward a single email that required action.

Complaints sent directly to Frank go entirely unacknowledged.

Tayyib handled matters and was very very slow coming back to me. Charged for reviewing the case which I have since been told by two other firms is NOT a valid claim because of it being outside statutory timing. He wanted over a £1000 more to review files for this when all he needed was the date of the action! He was then backed by Frank Hallam who owns the firm. Not only are they not trustworthy but they are not capable either. Stay well clear of these rogues.

Hallam Solicitors have provided negligent advice on completion of my sale and NO support after the completion of the sale.

They have completely missed the mark in providing relevant costing information to buildings insurance, telling me on several occasions in writing that this was included in the costing of service charge for the flat I purchased. Evidently this was not true, and I have discovered bills for over £1000 p/a.

They have conveniently 'lost' all my files with the information relating to my sale. Another one for the complaints.

There are also other details regarding retention and building works that I need their help on but probably the worst aspect of this, the partner of the firm 'Frank Hallam' is just outright been ignoring all my attempts to communicate and get help. Leaving me at the point I have to seek guidance from another solicitor and invest time into formal complaints processes.

This is yet another example of grabbing people's cash and running. They have zero interest in providing any support once they tick their internal boxes.

I've just completed a house sale with Suhail as conveyancer- this is the 4th sale I've carried out with him, and the I would like to think that the fact that I keep returning for his services time after time says it all. While some solicitors can take 10 days to even reply to an email or answer the phone (eg, my buyer's solicitor), Suhail is usually on top of every detail, every day- and usually replies to emails within minutes, never mind days. Other solicitors are still living in the world of "please allow 28 days for delivery", while Suhail operates more like Amazon Prime same-day delivery. Or to use another metaphor, in a world of solicitors operating at dial-up connection speed, Suhail is a superfast broadband solicitor. I've recommended him to all my friends and family, and am happy to rely on him completely for all my conveyancing.

Given my experience with Hallam solicitors via our chain, I am astounded they have a 4.9 rating.
Hallams solicitors are despicable. They ignore emails don't answer the phone and have led to two move dates being postponed. Suhail is never available and has more holidays than Judith Chambers! It's unfortunate a buyer in our chain has had the misfortune to employ Hallams.
If you value your sanity stay well clear of this abomination of a company!
They don't give a jot about the lives they turn upside down though their inaction and incompetence!

Hallam have been supporting buyers further down our chain and it’s been a nightmare! Turnover of staff has led to prolonged periods of zero contact to their client and other solicitors in the chain, resulting in 2 missed completion dates and the risk now high to miss a third.

The only time any response was shaken from the firm, was when clients and other parties from the chain have visited the offices and refused to leave.... Avoid these guys if you are looking for proactive, communicative conveyancing!

We used Hallam Solicitors based on a recommendation. Suhail, our conveyancer was very helpful, he always responded quickly to emails and guided us through the whole process. Everything was done thoroughly and professionally and made for a smooth process. The price was also very reasonable given the complexity of our particular transaction. We completed last week and were very happy with our experience.

Hallam Solicitors were not a local firm for me, however I selected them after lots of research and seeing many positive reviews. I found out that the positive reviews were well deserved. Victoria was always extremely quick to respond to any emails / calls. I didn't ask her lots of questions as I was very busy in my own role and I felt calm and confident about Victoria getting on with everything that needed doing. I'm therefore very happy with my choice of company and I would certainly use Victoria's services again.

As first time buyers, we had no clue what we need to with the legal side of purchasing a house. Victoria was recommended by our mortgage broker, and together they dealt with a lot of the stuff we didn’t understand. Victoria explained absolutely everything even in simple terms for me to understand, how it all works when buying a house, gave us approximate completion times, and kept me updated throughout.
