You can read my reviews below as with many others who’ve been in this for the long term. Always starts well with a few years of steady returns and then nothing but excuses as to why they can’t pay, yet throughout always trying to entice new investors with exciting exit strategies. Personally I and a good friend invested over 11 years ago and we are fairly smart usually about what we invest in and did our due diligence but you rely on the other party to be completely transparent about their financial situation. Contracts have long since been broken and we’ve all had the many many excuses why they’ve broken these contracts and as of today I’ve still not received any exit return and they are way behind on yearly rentals. For all of the many investors out there who’ve lost money with HDG, halcyon retreat, barrasford and bird or whoever they morph into to keep the show on the road the only clear path I suggest is to bring us all together and ensure that this new ‘alleged’ new finance company is fully aware of the current situation. It’s been explained to me that they are fully aware of ‘the good, the bad and the ugly ‘ in the accounts but I am sceptical of this. Do your research and make sure you all continually post about your ongoing experiences, don’t forget there is local media in France and also a number of bodies to contact in the uk to raise your grievance, see an earlier post of mine with advice on who to contact. City of London police is a good starter (they deal with financial complaints on behalf of other regions). DO NOT just post once and forget l, this is ongoing and you are entitled to post updates on your ongoing experience as we all have a duty of care to the ones that follow behind us looking to invest.

For ten years this company has had my savings,they lie upon lie and never pay what they owe me.( many thousands of pounds). The directors do not even reply to messages or emails any more. Be very very aware !!!

A friend and I bought into the resort together a few years ago. We negotiated a special deal where we slightly reduced the rental income, however we each got our own usage weeks which we can manage separately with cpmpany. This means we split the returns when they come in but do not have to worry about negotiating usage with each other. The developer even agreed that if we sometimes want to go at the same time, they will let one of us use a different apartment. amazing company to deal with and they can be really flexible if you ask.

After doing some research I eventually settled on a single Fraction within the resort. Over time I increased my holdings to 5 in total now. Returns are great. Much better than the banks and communications has been good too. The great thing is, not only am I making a good investment and increasing my savings, but I also will get to use the resort yearly once it opens. It really is the best of both worlds.

My brother initially invested in the resort, and after seeing his experience, I also decided to put some of my money into it. Returns have been really good and I have visited the resort twice. Once I stayed in the hotel on site, which was given to me free by the after sales team, which I thought was a really nice gesture.

I got involved with the Halcyon Retreat after meeting them at a property show in Belgium. They explained the model clearly and did not overall, which I really appreciated. I have now owned this investment for 3 years and I have been very happy with how it has gone. Returns are generally paid on time, unless there are extenuating circumstances, however the team always communicates any issues and fixes any problems which have arisen.

I initially came across the Halcyon Retreat while researching European property investments that would offer both a financial returned with one of thier representatives and doing a good bit of research on my own I decided to invest in a 2 bedroom property in 2021. I was slightly nervous at first, given that construction was still ongoing. But the level of professionalism and communication from the team quickly put my mind at ease.

Since purchasing, I have received rental income and payments generally on time as agreed. Even during some turbulent ecobomic periods the company remained very transparent and always reached out and explained if something was not going to be as it should.

Apart from my trip to the resort before purchasing, I have not visited yet but based on what I have seen and teh direction everything is headed, I have full confidence in the long term value of the investment. It has been good to work with a company that follows through on promises, especially in the world of off-plan property. I am planning on visiting the resort later this year and am excited to see for myself the progress which has been made.

The Halcyon Retreat offers something very unique for this part of France. Luxury accommodation, a private golf course and amazing facilities in a beautiful setting. I think it's rare to find such complete package both for holidays and investments. Looking forward to visiting again once the resort opens.

I purchased a fraction in 2022 and then added another two last year. I have been please with both the financial returns and the service from the aftersales team. They seem to be proactive and respond to queries quickly.

The investment in The halcyon Retreat Golf & Spa resort stood out to me as it offered more than just a return. It offers a lifestyle which I am eager to take advantage of. The location, the nature, the golf and all the planned activities in one beautiful location is such a lovely vision, and being able to combine that use with an investment that appreciates almost seems o be too good to be true. But so far everything has gone well and returns have been paid. Once the resort opens the circle will be complete.

I invested with Halcyon retreat last year and have so far been very happy with the outcome. Returns have been paid on time and I have kept up to date with regular updates on how construction is coming along. Looking forward to my first round of golf at the resort.

I was nervous going into this as this is my first foreign property investment, however so far it has exceeded my expectation. The team at halcyon help my hand throughout the process and explained anything and took care of the necessary paperwork. The rental income usually comes in as scheduled and the project is looking impressive in the updates I have received.

I travel to France regularly so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to combine a good investment with my lifestyle. I purchased a full 1 bedroom apartment in the Monet building and I am already receiving income from it. Communication from the team has been really good.

Staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us .

For me the beauty was in the building and the grounds if I ever got the chance to return I would it was so lovely the weather was great too

Beautiful Stay at Château de la Cazine highly recommended. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location is truly stunning, surrounded by beautiful grounds—perfect for long walks through the woods and exploring by the lakes. The rooms are elegant with charming period features, and the view across the lawns from our room was simply magical. It’s a peaceful retreat with an enchanting atmosphere, and we can’t wait to return in the summer to enjoy the pool and weather above minus 2!! La Souterraine is little gem, especially as we enjoy walking and discovered the French Camino or Way of Saint James and the pilgrimage route, making the experience even more special. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful and tranquil setting!

I’ve had a great experience with Halcyon. Their team is responsive and professional, always providing clear updates. I visited the resort site recently and was pleased with the progress. My returns have been paid as expected, and I’m eagerly looking forward to my first holiday there. It’s exciting to watch the resort take shape.

I bought 3 fractions of a 2 bedroom property. The contact I dealt with was called Serkan and I have been very happy with the service provided. All my payments have been made although there was a delay once.
I found this to be a very good deal for the current market, especially as a resident in holland.
