Dr Munro was very welcoming, and professional, and explained my procedure in detail. I can’t rate her highly enough . I was quite nervous but her kind and compassionate manner put me at ease and I will definitely go back to her again in the future .

Dr Munro is an excellent doctor and made me feel so comfortable and at ease. She is so knowledgeable and professional and yet has a lovely compassionate and understanding way about her that immediately instils trust and confidence. She has helped me enormously and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dr Kirsty Munro saw me to deal with hyperplasia in the uterus.

As I entered the consulting room, Dr Munro looked disgruntled. She had a definite look of displeasure. This displeasure remained until I left. This was strange. I had never met her before. It was my first consultation for reproductive health.

It left me uneasy about further treatment. As a patient, was I expected to walk on eggshells?

She asked about my smear test history. I told her that in recent years I had not gone for smear tests. I later obtained a copy of Dr Munro’s medical report. It said that my smear tests were normal and up to date. This misinformation did not improve my trust. On my request she later issued an updated report with the corrected information. Obtaining this correction has cost me significant time and effort.

BACKGROUND: During an ultrasound, a tissue abnormality in my womb was discovered. The sonographer explained that this tissue could be either cancerous, pre-cancerous or benign. The most important thing, she said, was to urgently take a tissue sample (biopsy) and have it analysed in the lab. The purpose of the appointment with Dr Munro was for her to take this biopsy. This procedure is known to be uncomfortable. It can be painful. Because Dr Munro appeared disgruntled, I decided not to have the biopsy on this occasion. There is now the delay which the sonographer had so strenuously warned against.

I’ve recently seen Dr Munro at the Royal twice and most recently yesterday. Each time I have seen Dr Munro she has been so lovely and approachable to me and really made me feel at ease at each appointment. Dr Munro is a very busy Consultant but makes time for you at each appointment and never rushes you and listens to every point you make taking it on board. I feel safe under her care knowing how experienced she is and that Dr Munro has already thought about every eventuality and most importantly she has given me a choice. Thank you again Dr Munro, we are lucky to have a Consultant like you in the NHS and in Private care.

Seen Dr Munro, within 30 minutes came up with a treatment plan, Dr Munro listened to me and made me feel welcome, she was very helpful and cannot recommend enough! Thank you

Dr Munro is truly wonderful. From the earliest dealings with my mum she was brilliant, proactive and most importantly caring. Her patient centered approach and exceptional ability to communicate complex and life changing information with clarity and kindness are amazing.

Dr Munro was incredibly patient with me and all of my many health questions and concerns. She explained things thoroughly and asked many questions in order to get the full picture. I would highly recommend visiting the Edinburgh clinic if you are someone that is a little nervous when it comes to doctors and hospitals etc like me!

No coordination with the front desk of Nuffield Health or the insurance company and the consultant. The Consultant was oblivious of what was to be done and we had to keep asking for tests and appointments when these should have been done automatically. The letter from the consultant clearly stated what was approved by BUPA yet the consultant kept sending us back to the GP which according to her was normal practice.
