Lots of barcodes of food not found or…

Lots of barcodes of food not found or simply has the wrong calorie protein count pre loaded. I wouldn’t mind if you could manually input items but you cannot. If it’s not in their database it’s not being logged

Otherwise I think I’d enjoy the app

Hi Kelsy, I'm sorry to hear that many items you scanned were not available in the app. We are working to improve the coverage of our food database. However, our app does allow you to manually input items. To do so, tap "Search" > "Saved Items" > "Add new saved item". You can then enter a nutrition label for a single item, or create a recipe based on multiple ingredients. If you have any trouble manually inputting your items, please reach out to our live chat and we'd be glad to help.

I think this is pretty cool

I think this is pretty cool! I could calculate everything in one spot and see results with a goal plan. Answered a few easy questions and had 3 different customized work out plans specific to my goals. Fast, easy, and free, I love it!

Grossly inaccurate from my experience of my body

I did the macro calculator and whilst easy to use it greatly miscalculated my calorie requirement to maintain my weight. It recommended at least 700 more kcal than I consume/day to stay at the same weight and the protein recommendation was ridiculous over 70g when the average RI for a female is 46g and based on the WHO calculation for g/kg bw I only need 32g. I’m not trying to be a body builder. I was just curious what it would churn out. I will stick to what I know works for my body. My weight is stable and if I went by their recommendations I would rapidly gain weight as it would double my calorie intake.

Hi Neeleigh. Thank you for your feedback and I'm sorry to hear the calculator overestimated your maintenance calories. Our calculator uses the industry-standard Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which tends to be accurate for most people. However, I'm keen to double check your calculation to ensure there weren't any issues. Our macro calculator goes above the RDA using a range of 1.2g-1.8g per kg of bodyweight, depending on your activity level. This is a widely (but not universally) accepted range if you are physically active. Please feel free to email me at brendonboshell@gymgeek.com and I'll be happy to check your calculation.
