Kigali School of Kinyarwanda

I have been learning Kinyarwanda with Gusoma for 5months and I feel how my Kinyarwanda improved a lot. I can know have conversations in Kinyarwanda and understand most of what is said. I still have to work on my grammar and vocabulary, but everything is going smoothly with the teacher François who is very patient and passionate. I definitely recommend this school.

When I first came across Kigali School of Kinyarwanda, I thought it was too good to be true: one-on-one lessons, learning tailored to your needs, experienced teachers, AND amazing value? Now, with my second month into Kinyarwanda, I'm happy to say: it is good and it is true.

I started my Kinyarwanda course with some prior knowledge, and my teacher, Mr François, adapted easily to my pace, background, and needs. The classes are very flexible, offering enough time to cover the grammar basics and engage in conversation practice, and my patient and positive teacher is always there to offer encouragement. The school also offers Kinyarwanda proficiency test for different goals (academic, professionals, and teachers), which I'll be excited to try.

Seeing how much I've learned over the month, I can recommend this school to anyone seeking quality Kinyarwanda lessons. Murakoze cyane!

François has been a good guide in my journey to learn Kinyarwanda. Since I live in Kigali, I have picked up some phrases and expressions. He has been great about answering questions and making sense of what I hear or think I hear. His pacing is good and his delivery makes the process fun. I feel like this program is well paced and provides the requisite knowledge to go out and begin speaking with locals and develop a conversational level quickly.

Can defnitly recommend Gusoma for Kinyarwanda-learners. It's a difficult language with (for Non-bantu-language-ears) abstract vocabulary, so intensive effort and attention is needed in the beginning. Francois does a great job in explaining, motivating, practising patience, and tailoring the lessons to preferences / gaps. In month two I'm seeing at least some light at the end of the tunnel and keen to continue the journey

I wanted to learn Kinyarwanda to conduct research for my PhD in Rwanda in the future and it is not easy to find a Kinyarwanda teacher. When I first came across the Kigali School of Kinyarwanda online, I was hesitant to join, because I was afraid it might be a scam. But it was the best decision I ever made! My teachers are amazing! They are really friendly, helpful and open for all my questions. They explain grammer really well, which is really important in a language as complicated as Kinyarwanda. They have gotten to know me, know what my strengths and weaknesses are, and have adjusted the lessons accordingly. For example, I understand grammar quickly, but struggle with learning words. Now we do a lot more exercises to remember the words. The teachers also answer all my questions about Rwandan culture. If you put in the work - meaning you learn the words and grammar by heart outside of the lessons - it is possible to make progress very quickly. Depending on the plan one chooses you can take a lesson every day! And the booking process is very easy and flexible. I usually book all my lessons as the beginning of the month, but sometimes have to cancel or change them at a short notice. That is not problem at all. Being in a busy phase of my PhD I really appreciate the flexibility. I can not recommend the Kigali School of Kinyarwanda enough. If you consider learning Kinyarwanda, this is the place to go!

Brilliant teachers & online materials.
The language is complex so its great to get one to one lessons and alot of videos and audios and books to dive in.
I joined for 3 months while in Rwanda and it was very useful. I intend to continue with Kigali School of Kinyarwanda when I go back.

I've wanted to learn my mother tongue for a very long time - and I was lucky enough to receive a university grant that allowed me to do so! I came across the Kigali School of Kinyarwanda and was able to learn lots of Kinyarwanda in a very short period of time - the teachers are always accessible and understanding.

The lessons are always focused on a particular topic, and through the program, I was able to understand Kinyarwanda phrases, songs, and texts. Most importantly, when I managed to go to Rwanda and visit my family - they were all surprised by how much Kinyarwanda I knew, and I was able to speak to them in a meaningful manner for the first time. I highly recommend joining the program if you can!

And i fell in love immediately, they have a beautiful culture beautiful and friendly people and the country is just beautiful.
it quickly felt like a second home, i met my boyfriend there.
i wanted to learn the language for him and his family.

i was looking for an online program to learn kinyarwanda .After some research i ended up with them. Gusoma edication is a great program i have only been doing it for 3 months but have already learned so much.

they make sure you really understand everything and take their time to explain everything well. You also end up in a watsapp group with other students from all over the world.The teacher motivates you and is always proud of you when you understand it. i can really recommend it to anyone who wants to learn kinyarwanda quickly and correctly!

Finally I found a place to study kinyarwanda and continously keep up the motivation to learn this beautiful, but quiet complex, language! The platform itself still has some potential to improve but they keep working on it and always consider feedback. The lessons are great, both individual and group lessons helped me a lot so far. The teachers are very patient and explain and answer questions until everything is clear. Also for organisational questions regarding booking or billing, there is always a quick response. Looking forward to keep studying in the program!

When I started learning Kinyarwanda with Gusoma, I already had a basic - moderate level of understanding of Kinyarwanda. At the beginning it took some time for the teachers to identify the gaps and where my needs were, but now we know the gaps and needs are known progress is made.
I appreciate the program. It is very thoroughly and the platform contains a lot of information / online lessons. I like it that I can book lessons according to my busy schedule and I am happy that I have improved my Kinyarwanda.

It is hard to find ways to learn the kinyrwandan language and Gusoma is the place to go. They have an organized structural approach to learning the language and offer 1:1 or group lessons. They also tailor the learning to your needs depending on the field you work in to focus your learning on the words you will need to know.

I highly recommend Kigali School of Language. The lessons are well planned and the teachers are knowledgeable. The process are reasonable and the staff are very responsive. This is the place to go if you want to learn Kinyarwandan!!!

I had been wanting to learn Kinyarwanda for years, but never found a good and motivating course that could fit in my busy schedule. With Gusoma, I have found a way to make learning fun, with many interactive classes tailored to my learning needs, and I have the freedom to book classes whenever my schedule allows it. The prices are really fair too. I am really impressed by the progress I have made so far, and would definitely recommend Gusoma to anyone wanting to learn this language!

My experience is short for the moment because I started on the beginning of novembre. But I can tell how glad I am ! I wanted to learn Kinyarwanda to share moments with my boyfriends family, and the class I have every week are really helpful. I started without any knowledges and I can today explain my day, what I like, who I am... and I can understand the answer too.

I met 2 teachers, both of them are really nice, patient and happy to teach. I took my lesson as french speaker, but they can teach in english too. I can take classes after my day job, or during the weekend, so it's quite easy to be constant. Teachers adapt their approach and their calendar for each of us, and you can add classes with other students to improve yourself and help eachother. For sure, I need to study at home a bit, but that's normal, we have nothing without effort and I am always encouraged. It helps a lot !

As a first-generation migrant in the Rwandan diaspora that grew up in Europe, like many of my peers, I have noticed a decline in my ability and confidence to converse in Kinyarwanda over the years. Gusoma Education has offered me an online, class-based platform to regain the necessary skills for everyday Kinyarwanda communication.

The program has provided me with practical skills in daily Kinyarwanda, focusing on both vocabulary and grammar. Additionally, a significant part of our sessions involved active conversations in Kinyarwanda, not only with the instructor but also with fellow participants in the program. This experience has not only improved my language proficiency but has also bolstered my confidence in speaking the language.

I have really enjoyed getting to learn Kinyarwanda through this program. I have really appreciated the strong foundation the school provides in the structure and grammar of the language. Lessons are very interactive with many opportunities to practice what we are learning in real-time. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to expand their language skills and get a good working knowledge of Kinyarwanda!

Trialed the program, and had some issues with beginning to prepare for lessons. I brought it to the attention of the instructor and manager that I attempted to go through materials ahead of the lesson to get exposure to the material (this is exactly what you should expect anyone with an American college degree to do, and especially an engineering degree, as it's how colleges work in America), and in doing so found some of the content for the trial lesson mismatched or missing entirely.

Less than one hour after doing so, and after the teacher told me that I was a good fit and she wanted to continue working with me, I was removed from the program without any additional communication or explanation.

There is no way for me to leave a truly fair review here. The teacher was excellent, understood what I was trying to do, that I was at least trying to prepare and get exposure to things, wanted to help me learn, and deserves 5 stars. The material that was consistent with itself was good, and significantly more useful than computerized material I've used to learn basic phrases in other languages. The material deserves 4 stars when considering only the material that was consistent and complete. The interaction with management relating to this, and their shortsightedness not to realize that some of us may want to at least familiarize ourselves with material prior to lessons (and then expel us for bringing issues to their attention after attempting to do so) outweighs all of the above and merits a zero star review; however, the lowest possible review is one star, and thus is the rating I am leaving here.

Before Gusoma, I was able to speak Kinyarwanda but wanted to improve my level by having a better vocabulary but more importantly being able to read and write it. After few months, I feel more confident writing to my family living in Rwanda. Moreover, I am now finally able to tell time in Kinyarwanda which I have been struggling with for years ;-)

I am totally satisfied with my experience learning Kinyarwanda with Gusoma and reaching my objectives. The curriculum is well structured. They are always eager to improve their learning platform. The teachers are committed and professional. And a special thanks to Munga who keeps the student motivated by encouraging them, keep a good and fun atmosphere and always try to find a solution to keep you on track.

I am already recommending Gusoma to all my friends and family who want to learn Kinyarwanda. So I can only emphasize here and encourage you to do the same, you won't regret it.
