Michelin Made the Process Difficult and Discouraging!

I have been running Michelin tires on all my dirt bikes, street bikes and automobiles for 40 years. Recently, I purchased a set of Starcross 5's. I run, or ran, this tire on three of my dirt bikes for years. Michelin has a promotion where you buy two tires and get a rebate. Since, I purchased the tires in the time frame allowed I was eligible. I went online to do the required steps and received an error. Next, I sent them an email stating the website would not allow me to complete the process. They requested I email my invoice and they would take care of the rest. I submitted the invoice which had date of purchase, invoice number, tires purchased, vendor, and my name and address. Once submitted I received an email they needed my address. I responded with my address. The next day I received another email stating they needed the order number and my address. I emailed the invoice again, listed my address and order number. All this was on the invoice but at this point I was trying to make this as easy for them as possible. A few days later I received another email stating my file number and that they had not received the information. Kind of frustrated at this point I called them and the agent said they needed the invoice and related information. Oh boy! I verified their email address, sent the information again. While I had the agent on the phone I asked her to check and see if it was received. The response was she did not have access to the emails and that was another department and they would contact me if not received. This was definitely off putting but what was I to do. Having not received notification I was about to give up. A few days later I went on the website to check the status. As you can guess it showed no rebate claim at all. At this point, I tried to submit online again and it went through. Doubting their competence I waited a few days and contacted them by phone to verify. The agent stated, that finally they got the information they need and my rebate would be processed for approval or declination. Not very reassuring but whatever. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SET OF TIRES FOR ANY TYPE OF VEHICLE I OWN THAT SHARE THE MICHELIN NAME OR THAT ARE AFFILIATED WITH MICHELIN.

I needed another set of tires for my dirt bikes but this time I went the Bridgestone route. I submitted the required information once and received confirmation my rebate was approved and it was to be mailed within the week. The rebate was double the amount Michelin advertised and the process was handled quickly. I will be using Bridgestone from here on out. Better value and they actually have it together. They wanted to give me the rebate. It seemed Michelin did not. Also, the Bridgestone rebate could be used up to 6 times on tire purchases during the time frame. Not the Michelin rebate it was limited. Very limited since I have yet to be notified as to whether I will be approved or not. At this point I have said what needs to be said a. Michelin lost a customer for life and a 40 year loyal one at that.
