So long GT you will be missed
I saw that GT had released all of their pro riders and announced they were selling off all of their inventory. I jumped on the opportunity to get a Labomba pro model for half price $600usd. Shipping was prompt, I did however notice some things with quality that were good indicators as to why the company went belly up. The overal design of the bike was not well thought out.
The threaded chain tensioners are terrible, this design has a set screw that drives into the threads of the axel bolts thereby destroying them over time. Its nice to see a bike come with pedals, unfortunately the pedals are complete junk the bearings sounds gritty and I can hear and feel the crunch as I spin them. This is a waste of money on the companies part as I will not be using them on the bike. I noticed a few deep scratches in the beautiful finish on the top tube, the wheels are not radially true. QC. problems. This frame being the highest tier in the your dirt jumper line up was made in China not Taiwan. Thats disappointing.
For what I paid, it was a great deal. Had I paid full price I would have been not so thrilled. I gave a five star rating because of the history of the brand and what they represented.
Pon Holdings I believe this failure falls into your lap. Please do better for the love of cycling. Greed is a terrible master.
