Very unimpressed

I ordered boots on Wednesday for same day despatch and eventually received an automated email on Sunday to let me know that my order is being got ready. As I had not received them when I needed them I have been trying to get in touch with Customer Service to get some clarity but their CS is abysmal. No phone number, just patronising automated messages and blatant contempt for customers. I am very disappointed and annoyed that a supposedly high calibre company treats its customers with such disrespect. I have no need for the boots if they ever arrive and am looking to the refund process of my £300 with some trepidation. Terrible experience, extremely bad service, can't comment on the shoes - haven't got them! No stars from me.

SCAM

SCAM

I bought some Mae shoes from grenson. Upon 3 wears within 3 weeks this sole came apart, I’ve emailed the 17th, 19th , 27th and today and haven’t received a single response from customer service - just an automated one. This is appalling and illegal in many cases as this is a faulty product , but no one is getting back to me at all

Boots fell apart, not interested

I got in touch with Grenson as a pair of boots I bought have loose stitching. I have worn them twice.

The response was that there was nothing I could do as I bought them from another shop and that they would give me a discount to buy another pair!

Shocking. The price vs the customer service is crazy

Terrible online service, avoid !!!When you place an order online

When you place an order online, you advise of shipping delays BEFORE the checkout process, not after. If delays are due to volume of orders at busy times, you TAKE ON EXTRA STAFF to deal with them. You DO NOT ignore customer service messages, it's your customers paying your bills. You DO NOT charge premium shipping costs for no service. Your instore presence may be ok but your online presence is shockingly bad.Tim Little needs to read these comments and address these issues.

Poor quality.

Poor quality.

Purchased my first pair of Grenson trainers and it will be the last.

Quality is awful with glue remnants on the right shoe and what looks like blue dye on the leather across the lace eyelets on the left shoe.

So disappointed as I thought I was purchasing something worth the money. It's not!

This company represents the peak of…

This company represents the peak of cynical exploitation of a storied name for quick profits. Their current shoes are cheap rubbish. Mine came to pieces in multiple ways, and after trying to get them to sort out from home, failed, took them to a shop, where they clearly said this shouldn’t have happened. They sent them wat, and I got an email later saying they couldn’t be repaired and to pick them up. They would not consider replacement. I abandoned them at the shop.

YMC x Grenson Boots

Purchased the YMC x Grenson boots from the online store. I had found a money off code, which made these expensive boots a less painful price. They arrived quickly and I was initially really pleased!

Before wearing them outside I noticed that the lining of one of the boots was bunched and caused discomfort, so arranged with their customer service team to have the boots sent back and repaired. Although an easy process, I thought that the quality checking should be a better in the first place to stop faulty products being sent out. However these things happen, and when I received the boots back the defect had been fixed.

I am writing this review because I have never owned such poorly made shoes. The soles are extremely slippery so I fell whilst wearing them (spilling a hot drink down myself in the process). After two wears they were misshapen, and after four wears the soles and the heels had little chips in them and were disintegrating already. I have used them for regular wear in a city centre.

Took them to a cobblers today to get rubber soles put on them and he remarked on the poor quality of the soles.

Aesthetically the boots are gorgeous, but haven’t been worth the substantial cost. I will not be buying Grenson boots again and am so disappointed.

Grenson Repair Service - Fantastic!

I have owned a pair of Grenson boots for 11 years. They have been superb, I have maintained and polished them but the Goodyear commando soles had seem a lot of wear and were significantly worn down.

I finally got round to sending them back to Grenson for their Repair - Re-sole and Heel service.

Absolutely fantastic, highly recommended. My boots look absolutely brand new. Completely re-soled with new Goodyear welted soles. Beautifully stitched back to the upper. New leather insole, new laces and the uppers have been re-finished and polished.

They look immaculate, absolutely fantastic. They feel amazing.

I paid £350 for these boots in 2013. Twelve years later I have a brand new pair of boots for £170. £30 a year the original pair cost me, amazing value and spectacular English shoe-making.

Turn around was much quicker than advertised as well, there weeks from posting to getting them back.

Truly great service, and great boots. Thanks!

Never use their website for purchase.

It turns out that the shipping cost is non-refundable, and there is no information about it on the website. OMG these shoes are expensive and yet they refund only the cost of the shoes but not the shipping cost. So 25 euros just to try on their shoes. The website is glitchy, and the service is totally missing the mark in modern commerce. Very disappointing.
Also received an obnoxious customer service response saying that non-refundable shipping costs are mentioned in their terms and conditions. However, I am somehow responsible for searching for discrepancies in the information on their website. Absolutely disgusted with this "luxury" predatory brand. I hope nobody will buy from them.

Dyed my feet black!

Bought a pair of brown moccasins (Susanna) for the summer. They dyed my feet black! When I raised this with the shop in Jermyn Street London by phone and then by email, I was told that moccasins should only we worn with socks! I have worn them with socks and they dyed my socks black. Very POOR quality for a not cheap price.

WARNING: YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY!

I have ordered a pair of Archie shoes from Grenson a week ago. Immediately after picking up the package, Fedex (horrible company) throw it away at the local facility.

After struggling with the bot on Fedex' hotline, I finally managed to reach a human being by repeating the word 'Complaint' multiple times. The support agent is refusing to start a search for the package until they get a goods description from Grenson.

I have written to Grenson (they don't have a phone number???) but they have not replied.

So now I have a very large sum of money drawn on my account and no shoes and nobody willing to do anything about it.

I have filed a claim with my bank in the hope that they will help with a chargeback.

I strongly advise you NOT to order anything from Grenson. I am shocked by this experience.

Update: Fedex have also now given up on getting in touch with Grenson. Makes you wonder if the company is closing down.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. I accidently ordered a pair of sneakers in a man's size as to ladies. Returned for a refund and Grenson have had these since 5th August. Still no sign of refund and no response to my messages. As the item I wanted was still available in correct ladies size I ordered these even before
The original ones received back by Grenson. Notified order was received and being processed. Guess what. They have now cancelled that order. Already have several pairs of Grenson but won't be buying direct again.

Amazing experience

Amazing experience!
I was nervous about buying some sneakers, given there appeared to be a number of negative experiences. However, I cannot fault mine! I brought the most beautiful, classy exceptionally well made trainers in the sale.. they are brown suede with crème and a light blue G on the side. I love them! they are exactly what I’d hoped for. I only ordered them 2 days ago and they arrived today! I’m sooo chuffed with them. Now my only advice would be to choose your normal size, as when you research the last sizing on the site they suggest you go up a size. I chose not to do that and ordered my normal size 38. They are perfect! Thank you Grenson, you didn’t disappoint at all. I will definitely buy again!

Don’t Bother, Buy Something Else!

Have purchased Grenson products in the past with no problems. However, recently bought a pair of sandals as a gift. After 2 months the sole came loose, only worn 3 times for a total of about 3 hours. I got in touch with Grenson and provided photographic evidence as requested. They got back in touch to say they were reviewing the issue. They then got back in touch to say that in their opinion this was due to excessive wear and tear and that they would not be able to provide a repair. I again explained the issue and emphasised that after 3 hours wear the sole should not have come loose. Their reply was dismissive to say the least. I will not be buying anything from Grenson again because if anything does go wrong with the product they don’t want to know. Appalling customer service.

I expect I will be buried in my Grensons

1. I think I must have purchased at least 8 pairs of Grensons so far. I have three pairs in current use. My first pair of Grensons were given to me second-hand from a friend... and I was quickly hooked. They are most certainly a quality product. Quality means substance, and substance can mean the shoes can be heavy, which many of us are not used to - especially if we've been brought up with trainers on our feet. I discovered the 'classic' styles often had to be broken-in to adapt to the shape of your feet. But when I enter good company I have often gained admiring comments from very discerning people. I have even shaken hands with HM the King a couple of times, and didn't feel outclassed in my footwear ...though I am sure his are bespoke!
2. I can see there are quite a few negative comments on this site about customer service... I get it. Purchases can go wrong. But I can only talk about my own experience. All my purchases have been made online. And fortunately, because my first pair were perfectly-fitting hand-me-downs, I already knew exactly what size I needed going forwards - 9G. Their sizing has been totally reliable and consistent over several decades. I did once once have to contact the company to ask how I could get the very particular laces my boots had been originally supplied with... The next thing I knew, they had sent me a set, gratis!
3. I have some final comments about the soles Grensons use: The leather soles are truly the hardest to break-in, but they are the smartest and classiest by a mile. The most comfy soles I have ever had were the rubber wedges; I loved them. Unfortunately, these soles are available for a much more limited range of styles - and they do have a genuine shortcoming... being so soft under your foot, they do wear very heavily and they cannot be resoled. But oh my goodness, I could wear them for 18 hours without my feet complaining! For me, I have found that the commando sole has become the most practical go-to for me. It hits the sweet-spot where comfort, class and utility meet. These soles can handle everything I want them to do: board meetings, social occasions, setting off on a vigorous walk or even riding my motorcycle. They have a town & country feel, and I guess that fits my lifestyle.
Anyway, I hope my thoughts are useful to someone.
Good luck!
