Mixed feelings on scaffolding from the Green Scaffold Company
The company offered a competitive quote for a scaffold to fit solar panels to my roof after a site visit. I booked a day some 6 weeks ahead for erecting the scaffold. On the day nobody arrived in the morning. I rang the company at midday to check that they were coming and was told they would be there in the afternoon. Just after 2pm a large scaffolding lorry arrived which I knew would have difficulty getting down the driveway. The driver contacted the office and at 4.15pm a crew of 6 arrived and the scaffollding commenced. Commendably, they completed the job by 6.15 pm. Although it was incredibly noisy, it was carried out efficiently. The scaffolding and boards were in excellent condition and the finished product looked very professional. After the solar panels were fitted, I emailed the company asking them to remove the scaffold. I was told that I would be given a date for removal. A week later I sent another email requesting removal with the same response. Another week went past and a 3rd request was made to remove the scaffold. The following day it was removed in 2 hours. I have mixed feelings about this scaffolding job. On the plus side, the standard of scaffolding was very good, and the quote was competitive. On the debit side, the communication from the office was poor leaving the customer to do all the chasing. Also, neither of the 2 teams who did the work wore protective helmets and not all of them wore day-glo jackets (despite the photos on the website showing otherwise). Would I use them again? Yes, for the finished product, but no for the hassle in getting the job done.
