When you can't be bothered sorting it all out yourself ...

Most summers, I make a trip for my daughter and I. This summer, to visit Greece, I simply filled out the form on the website and exchanged a few emails and we are now back after a seamless trip of a few days on a wonderful island and classical guided tours on the mainland.

I found Greeka to be responsive, friendly and knowledgeable and the transport, accomodation and recommendations for restaurants to be excellent.

I cannot say the trip was cheap. I very much think that it was excellent value for money

Greeka use dodgy car rentals

Greeka use dodgy car rentals. Going on Holiday to Corfu I rented a car through Greeka, they used a rental company called Abby car rentals, they are hard to find as they are not in the airport about 1/3 of a mile walk with cases. They were ok when I picked up the car, a bit tatty 47,000 miles with spray can repairs The assistant checked over the car, ticked off several marks and dings all over the car. When returning the car (in the same condition as collected) a male assistant checks the car all round for damage suddenly he walked to the other side of the car bends down and and finds a approx 30mm mark under the cill, telling me I’ve damaged it. I told him the cill wasn’t checked when I collected the car the person just walked around the car and didn’t bend down to check the cill. He passed me over to the woman who was most rude along with another female. I was told I had two choices, pay €150 or they would keep my deposit of €650. They Know that you can’t dispute it with them as you have a flight to catch. the hire is cheap but they make up for it when you take the car back very unprofessional. Crooks. I disputed this with Greeka and they said they had no previous complaints even after I told them to check Abby car rentals 1000 negative reviews on trust pilot, not one review wa answered. Greeka sre still dealing with Abby car Rentals. BEWARE

Firstly, please note that we do not have a direct partnership with AbbyCar. AbbyCar is a franchise brand used by various local car rental agencies in multiple countries. This is why your car rental voucher mentioned Enterprise – Eurohire rather than AbbyCar.

We have been working with Corfu Enterprise – Eurohire since 2014, and until now, we had never received a complaint of this nature. Additionally, please be aware that we collaborate with several different car rental companies in Corfu, not just this particular agency.

It is also important to mention that Corfu Enterprise – Eurohire recently acquired the AbbyCar brand. At the time our partnership began, they were not associated with AbbyCar, nor did they have the type of negative reviews that now appear online. Please consider that many of the unfavorable reviews you’ve referred to may not relate specifically to the Corfu office, as AbbyCar operates in numerous locations across the Greek islands and internationally.

Regarding your specific case, as discussed in our previous email correspondence, Corfu Enterprise – Eurohire provided documentation showing that you signed the vehicle inspection report indicating no damage at the time of pick-up. They also submitted a photo of the damage and a copy of the technician's repair invoice, which we have shared with you.

Lastly, we would like to remind you that the terms and conditions you accepted during the booking process clearly state the importance of thoroughly checking the vehicle at the time of collection. Since we are not present during pick-up, we are unable to verify pre-existing damages on your behalf. We regret if any damage was missed before collection, but without it being noted, we are unable to dispute the agency’s claim.

“The client is responsible for checking the condition of the car at the time of collection and ensuring any pre-existing damages are documented on the rental contract. Undocumented damages may be considered the client’s responsibility and could result in additional charges. Any disputes regarding the vehicle's condition must be resolved directly between the client and the rental agency, not through Greeka.com.”

Attention to this operator for not waste money

Pay close attention to this operator that I advise against using. They charge their commission on top of the price of the service by factoring their costs back to you which, in my case, was 20% of the car rental. They don't say this on the site. In my case this 20% was for no service as they gave me a second car from the same renter only because they had subtracted this availability from the same one I was already using. In addition, the first bill was upwardly wrong and they corrected it after my report, justifying that the first one had been automatic. So I recommend booking direct services without them and, if so, pay attention to the costs that are inflated in a non-transparent way and without giving you any service in return.

We would like to inform you that we are an online travel agency cooperating with many local car rental agencies.

We can not control the availability they offer or if they decide to make a special offer rate to a customer that contacts them directly. The rate we gave you for the Suzuki Ignis is the rate that they suggested to us. In general, the rates that we have online are the rates that the car rental agents suggest that are in accordance with their official price list including any legal service fees. Our prices are online and all our customers are free to check them and proceed to a request via our online booking engine. When we receive a request we do our best to serve it and find availability, as we also did in your case. We initially found a smaller car ( Suzuki Ignis ) which we informed you about and also advised the price which you accepted before we proceeded to the confirmation. We do not have any hidden charges and the booking procedure is clear and written in detail in our terms and conditions, which you read and accepted before proceeding to the booking.

After receiving your complaint that Andros Euro Car gave you a cheaper rate directly for the same vehicle we contacted them to find out how this was possible and they informed us that due to a cancellation they could now honor the initially requested bigger car category to us and that they no longer have the availability for a second Suzuki Ignis.

We are sorry that you now would prefer 2 Suzuki Ignis but unfortunately, Andros Euro Cars do not have these available and this is not something we, greeka.com can change. Andros Euro Car explains that since they were finally able to serve your request for the car type you initially booked with us, and even at a discounted rate, they do not accept any further discounts.
We remind you again that your initial request for a 4W De Luxe is being served with a brand new Dacia Duster which they have offered to give at the total discounted price of 1170.40 Euro instead of the original price of 1247.40 Euro. It is more expensive than the Suzuki Ignis but this is normal as it is a different category and moreover, the category that you requested to book from the beginning.

Furthermore, we feel that your review is unfair as we did our best to serve your request from the beginning even by offering other alternatives when initially the requested vehicle was not available in order to guarantee that you will be served with a vehicle while availability was almost non-existent in Andros due to peak season.

All the procedure was very transparent and analytically explained on our booking engine and there were no hidden costs or extra charges requested from you.

Hi There - Avoid Info Plan Rental Car

Hi There. I booked 2 cars using your app last summer. I wanted to let you know I was skeptical at first to use the app but the pricing was really good. Almost too good and I was concerned that it was not a real reservation.
We had 2 separate bookings.
The first one We booked from June 25 - July 9 - I cannot remember the name of the company but they were excellent. So helpful and so easy to deal with.
The second company - Info Plan Rental Car which we rented from July 9 - Aug 2 was not so good.

The car was fine and pick up was fine, but when I dropped off the car, they gave me such a hard time. The car had a few marks on it from some bushes hitting it, not scratches but small marks or resin that would easily come off with a car wash. I was alone and my husband had left. Demos from Info Plan was terrible, he was telling me we damaged the car, that it was terrible, that they would have to buff it out and it would cost a lot of money. They said it would cost 300E to do this, which was coincidentally the same cost as the deposit. We argued at the airport in front of everyone. They knew there was not much I could do. I was rushing to get on a plane to go back home. They had my deposit.

I am from Canada and to have a car buffed out like he said would cost $120 Canadian, and labour is definitely cheaper in Greece. I felt completely robbed and so aggravated and annoyed at how they can take advantage of tourists (actually I hold a Greek passport and speak Greek fluently). I travel many times a year all around the world and have never had such a negative experience. I was so angry and disappointed, not because I lost the money but that I felt I was taken advantage of. I would have been happy to pay 100E for it but 300E is ridiculous. I am also disappointed at what other tourists would experience and what a negative view they would have of Greece. You need to reign in your partners in a better way. I was waiting for a rate your recent experience for the 2nd rental but never received one.

We are happy that you were fully satisfied with the car rental agent who served your first booking.

We contacted the car rental partner Planrentalcar who served your second booking to find his perspective on the incident. They informed us that they offered you a Renault Clio, model 2021 with 23.900 km, which was in excellent condition and with no scratches on the doors. Upon drop off the car had scratches on both sides and as they claim they charged you the minimum cost to repair it. As they explained the cost to repair and paint each point is 120,96€ plus VAT 24% so since there were scratches on both sides they feel that the charge of 300 euros was very reasonable.

We would like to clarify that since they gave you a receipt for this additional charge, it is legal since the insurance included in your car rental was CDW with an excess of 600 euros, and since they had your signature that the vehicle was delivered to you without scratches.

Spectacular Sunset

Pick-up was punctual and we were
transferred to a bigger coach. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The highlight of the tour was the spectacular sunset. Unfortunately we got lost in the maze of Chora but the kindful guide managed to guide us out by communicating through the mobile. Though stressful it was fun getting lost in a maze. Highly recommended for those looking for some fun and adventure.

Superb 4 day classical tour

We really enjoyed the 4 day classical tour. Our tour guide Anthony and driver Illias were fantastic, and the tour was well organised. There was plenty of time to explore all the sights - my favourite places were Olympia, Mycenae and Delphi. I would definitely recommend this tour to others. It was our first visit to Greece and we were very impressed!

Don’t expect too much

The food quality was awful, especially the dinner in Delphi. I prefer having lunch on our own free time, preferably in Nafplion.

Ferry Tickets without any hassles

As first timers booking ferries and island hopping in Greece we decided to purchase tickets before leaving Australia and found Greeka.com met our requirements.
Their booking process is easy, their payment process simple and secure and their service and delivery is exceptional.
They e-mailed us 48 hours prior to sailing thereby allowing us to download our tickets electronically which made the boarding process seamless and gave clear instructions about embarkation etc.
I thoroughly recommend their service to anyone - experienced or not wanting to book hassle free ferry tickets in Greece.

4 islands hop in September…

we visited 4 islands on our September 22 trip using ferries booked through Greek. it all went very well, all were on time and well organised with the exception of the ferry from Santorini to Folegandros. Several queues for different destinations were merged not one queue which let to chaos. Finally the Folegandros queue was called and after a bit of jostling we boarded and left 10 minutes early. Only to return to collect some passengers that had been left behind. Apart from this hiccup it all went to plan and on time.

Unacceptable chaos on Tuesday 6…

Unacceptable chaos on Tuesday 6 September in Piraeus.
No communication, no information, total lack of transparency.
Swarms of tourists having to queue up to change boat tickets with only one ticket office open.
Hours of waiting, a day lost, additional hotel costs in Athens, after three changes of schedule... I made the decision, around 16:00, to move the ticket for the next day. I felt like I had been taken hostage!
It is unacceptable not to give the precise information, such as, no ship will leave Piraeus because of bad weather.
I would have organized my day instead of wasting it in endless queues under the sun and in disarray.
Greece takes advantage of tourism and mistreats it. Scandalous!

We are sorry to hear about the bad experience you had with Blue Star ferries.

Kindly note though that the reason that the ferry did not depart as scheduled was for your own safety.
In such extreme weather conditions, the port authorities are the ones that are responsible to decide whether a ferry will depart or not. This means that Blue Star ferry was ready to depart but they needed approval from the port authorities to do so.

It is very common for the port authorities to give the approval to depart one or two hours later than the initial departure time, if the winds get calmer and on a specific day the prognoses said the winds would become less severe towards noon.

This is the reason that the departure times changed but each time permission to depart was not given. Nobody could tell you when the ferry will depart as nobody had such precise information which is logical when it concerns the weather which nobody can be sure about.

We hope that you understand that the point was not to mistreat you or to keep you hostage but to keep you safe.
