I wanted to genuinely warn people about…
I wanted to genuinely warn people about this hotel and share my own experience.
This was hands down my worst experience of a holiday I’ve ever had.
I saw warnings previously to so many people getting sick here and I feel stupid that I didn’t take any of these comments seriously.
The food is absolutely awful and the staff were rude and extremely unhelpful.
I had an item of mine go missing from our room on day 2 which I did go to the help desk to explain I didn’t think it was stolen just misplaced by the cleaning staff. The outcome for this, over around 3 days was my item had gone and that I could call the police if I wanted to…. The young lady at the help desk was rude and very dismissive.
On day 3 my husband was so ill he was bed bound for the whole next day, he was violently sick from around 9pm to 6am the following morning continuously… the hotel were in denial that it was anything to do with the food there and were no help at all, I even asked if the doctor could come to our room as my husband was that ill he couldn’t get out of bed and was told no.
We then didn’t want to eat in the hotel for the duration we had left of our “holiday”
There was no Tui staff member in the hotel so I had to ring from turkey to England to try and get us moved which we couldn’t because we had booked through a third party booking.
Not once when we were there did we see any of the pools getting cleaned and they never smelt like chlorine but more like a tainted sewage smell.
Their were countless amounts of cats which given in turkey does happen and other places around the world.. but usually they are ushered out of food areas by staff.. this was not the case here, they were being fed by people around the food in the huge buffet area which was clearly too large for the number of members of staff they have working there so god knows how long food was actually being left out for.
In the “Maldives” area which was meant to be an adult only area which on more then one occasion wasn’t and staff again did nothing, we had cats using the sand as a toilet and digging over to cover and it not being picked up by any staff!
The beach area is tiny and the food wasn’t any better down there, we actually paid to sit on the beach next to the hotel due to the fact we went in October and were shaded the whole time.
This hotel is unsafe!! No way is this or should ever be a 5 star!
The restaurants in the hotel are 1000% NOT worth the money, the food is exactly the same as what you are served in the buffet!
If I could give this a 0 star I would, but if you are considering this hotel and are wary because of the bad reviews please think twice.
This was the hotel from hell.
I experienced it last year
I experienced it last year. The pool bar is weak, the lobby bar has a good selection but there are very long lines at lunchtime. Finding a seat on the pier during the day is impossible. The food is delicious and the staff are attentive.
We came here with family and friends…
We came here with family and friends and are still staying at the hotel, but honestly — this place is so overrated. It was my daughter’s birthday, and we wanted it to be special, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. We’re here for another five nights, and I already wish we could just go home.
Yes, it’s the end of the season, but I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels at this time of year and have never been this disappointed. The kids’ club is a joke — no proper activities or entertainment to keep the kids busy. The splash park is only open for short hours, and daytime entertainment is practically nonexistent.
We were also looking forward to the Halloween party — what a letdown. The DJ was terrible, the music was awful, and there was zero effort to get anyone involved or to create any atmosphere. An hour into the party and the only people left dancing were the poor performers.
And let’s talk about the “review bribing.” Staff literally approach you offering room upgrades if you leave a positive review. That alone says a lot.
We even paid extra to upgrade to a deluxe family room, and it was disgusting. The second bedroom was tiny, had no window, no working air conditioning, and smelled like a toilet. It was honestly shocking for the price we paid. Thankfully, we managed to change rooms the next day and were moved to a much nicer one — but that should never have happened in the first place.
The service around the pool is also terrible. There aren’t enough staff to keep the area clean and tidy — at one point, there were about 20 empty cups sitting on our table for hours before we finally cleared them ourselves. Staff members just sit around, never say hello, and seem completely uninterested in guests. It’s actually uncomfortable how little effort they put into basic service.
They also promised us an à la carte dinner for my daughter’s birthday. We had a confirmed booking (I even took a photo of the paper as proof), but when we arrived, there was no table for us. We even offered to pay, just to celebrate her birthday properly. After going back and forth with multiple staff members, we were finally seated — but nobody would take our order. After 20 minutes we asked to order drinks, and they said they had to “speak to the big boss.” After about 45 minutes of phone calls and excuses, they told us they didn’t have any food for us. I honestly thought they were joking. The whole evening was ruined, and we actually got better treatment in the main restaurant.
All in all, this has been the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had for the price we paid. We had another trip booked here for next summer with friends, but I’m already in the process of canceling. At this point, I’d honestly rather stay home.
The only nice thing I can say is that the cleaning ladies, the chefs in the main restaurant, and the blonde lady at the pool bar are lovely. The rest — especially the service and management — seriously need sorting out.

The staff is super helpful… we had a bad experience with the room we got, we went and spoke to the staff, they were super helpful.
They understood our situation and offered to upgrade the room for a minimum feed,
The food and the hotel facilities are more then satisfying, its a great family hotel!
PLEASE AVOID
So where do I start.. I have seen a dead cockroach on the floor in the dining hall. no one even bothered to sweep it up no one gave a damn. the hygiene of this place... it stink like wee and poop everywhere especially at night. Asking the waiters to bring you a glass of water you would wait centuries for it. The swimming pools had black mould on it, the whole entertainment parks and swimming pools and waterslides were so far away from the hotel its really unpleasant. the private beach is also even more further you have to take shuttle (7 minutes) the food everywhere is repetitive and plain nothing that makes you want to try more. the shops there oh my goodness so expensive I have been to Turkey many times but this hotel takes the loser award. biggest scammers of the country. The alcohol is atrocious they don't even have a cocktail menu, for how expensive this hotel is they should atleast make the drinks look nice and tasty. instead tasted like dog shit with extra vodka. there is so much more i could write here but there is no point just avoid this hotel. the hotel is also full of russian and they drink heavily, I am pretty sure they sell illegal drugs there too the way the staff and the russian tourists communicate its pretty obvious there is something there, they cut in lines and always are top priority there.
Granada Luxury Okurcalar
After researching other hotels in Alanya, we chose Granada Okurcalar with the recommendation of ETSTUR. We had question marks in our minds until we went. But from the moment we entered the hotel, the attention of the reception and all other staff was very good. The location and layout of the hotel was very smooth and everything was in place. Varieties in the morning breakfast is quite a lot. Fastfood, pancakes, doner, kumpir and waffle options are available at the snackbar between certain hours. For dinner, different meat options are available every day in the barbecue section outside. The menu inside is also quite rich. There is something for every person's taste. We generally preferred the pool as swimming. In fact, let's say we had to prefer the pool because the sea comes to the neck of the person (1.85) from the first time you put your foot in the sand. They dug the entrance to the sea more than necessary. At least you should be able to come to a certain place on foot. For this reason, I do not recommend it for those who prefer the sea. The pool is quite insufficient for the capacity of the hotel and the dates when it is full. For this reason, I can turn to +16 or +18 hotels on my next holiday. There is a sunbed snatching competition in the morning. I don't understand whether people are coming on holiday or dawn operation. As a precaution, when we go to the staff and say that we cannot find a place, the hotel can quickly remove the towels from the sunbeds reserved with towels and say here you go. So there is a problem but the solution is fast and effective. I congratulated them on this. It was annoying that there were no clean towels in the SPA after a certain time. For 2 days we couldn't get clean towels, but alternative loincloths worked well. I didn't like the fact that drinks were served in open glasses except for cocktails. Even for bottled beer, we had to go from the pool to the lobby to get it. We liked the animation team and entertainment. In general, if we need to evaluate, the pros of the hotel outweigh. We went with my fiance and we ended our holiday in a relaxed way without any problems.
Okay but wouldn’t recommend for food and health safety
For a kids concept hotel, this is a dream. They have an arcade centre (costs are high though), park with kids play area, ample splash and aqua areas, tidal wave pool (kids loved this) and designated food areas for kids which was okay, nothing special.
Kids entertainment is fine, they do nightly shows and they have a kids club during the day where you can leave your kids, quite handy.
For adults, the slides are awesome, pools are huge. They have daily events and water activities.
Cons for swimming, no adult can go on the kids slides with their kids! When you have a child who fears a rush of water or enjoys slides but not on their own (aged 4 and 2) - come on! Let the parents get on! It’s not a big deal! Other hotels allow it?
Nice football, tennis and basketball pitch at the end of the hotel. They have kids shows at around 9 and adult shows after 10, not all shows were good but something to keep you entertained.
Rooms - good in size but we got upgraded so can’t be sure what the room we booked would have been like. We had a family room with a jacuzzi, I think family rooms face away from the main pools which was a shame. Walls are ultra thin and you can hear the next room clearly - complained to guest relations when kids were screaming at 10pm, they took an hour to come, had to go down myself and they sent someone up.
Spa - expensive!
Cats! Everywhere in the hotel! Be careful!
Beach - bus takes you every half an hour. Food at the beach bar was better than the restaurant, they make it fresh as opposed to a buffet style. Plenty of sun beds. The sand was a mix of sand and pebbles.
Food or pool water poisoning? Not enough chlorine in the pools maybe? Or not cleaned daily? Maybe the food is reused? All of us got a bad BAD stomach when we returned, lasted a week, with constant vomiting. Reached out to the hotel when I recovered (this was in May 2025) - they didn’t even reply to apologise, friends and family went a week after and sadly they had the same experience, 7 kids vomiting on holiday, two days in!
Main restaurant closes at 9pm I think and if you’re arriving after that, you have to wait until 11:30pm for night restaurant. We tried room service, they said it was 22 euros for a small pizza, local shop 2 mins away sells, sold it for 2 euros! The food itself was okay/good, didn’t scream luxury. The pool snack bars are really good, ice creams too.
Drinks are fine but one fella named Emin tried to serve me alcohol, when I ordered non alcoholic, he got angry for no reason, silly really, be professional. Bar staff called Beyza ignored me several times until a fellow UK guest had to step in my behalf.
Avoid the hotel ‘doctor’ my son had a fall, they wanted to do a scan for a cost, the next day he was fine, just needed rest, anti inflammatory cream and ibuprofen, someone tell the Granada Lux doctor to advise this first!
Shisha isn’t as great as the ones in Belek but convenient. The hotel has several hot drink and cake bars which are really good , included in the all inclusive and can be found around the hotel.
Land of legends is close by, Belek Market is 18 mins walk away, or 7 euro charge with car, takes a minute to get there, taxi prices are high but that’s not on the hotel. Close Masjid for daily or Friday prayers if you observe it.
Aizada, Farnaz, Rashid (front desk) were lovely. Check in and check out was good. Guest relations staff, mostly were female and were all good and supportive. All staff were lovely to be honest apart from the two bar staff I mentioned above.
This review would have been a 5 star even after taking into consideration everything I wrote but the ‘food’ or ‘not clean enough pool water’ ruined the experience. Real let down and the hotel to not even reach out to me after I emailed them, says it all (they got their money and don’t really care for the aftermath). We can bypass things that they can improve but not the fact that we all became unwell and there was no care to it. An almost perfect holiday, but a huge let down at the end and the hotel has to accept that.
Check out the hotel images on my Google reviews.
Hotel of horrors …
Returned last week from the worst holiday experience of my life. Sickness for me and my son, who had to be admitted to hospital on our final day. They wouldn’t let my daughter (15) in the ambulance so the hotel doctor told me she should stay in the hotel and they would take care of her. They didn’t. They tried to kick her out at 11.30pm on her own, despite her father and On the Beach trying to arrange and pay for a room for the night. The next day Guest Services stonewalled us. It was horrific. I wasn’t aggressive or shouting just upset and they called security to remove me. In the end a lovely Love Holidays rep (not our travel agent) intervened having been so shocked at how I was being treated. He ordered and paid for a transfer to the airport for us as the one I had booked had been missed the day before. Since returning to the UK the sickness has been diagnosed as Giardia, a waterborne parasite. The pools in this hotel are not clean and the Turquoise Bar smells so unclean.
Google “Grand Luxury Belek + illness”. That should tell you everything you need to know. Please please don’t book it. There wasn’t a day we were there when someone wasn’t distraught at Guest Services. The staff are vile and simply don’t care and the hotel is actually dangerous. There are much better hotels in the area. I am making a claim for compensation via Irwin Mitchell. I am absolutely not a serial complainer and usually just put up with minor grumbles but the way the doctor at the hospital rolled her eyes when we told her where we had stayed told me everything I needed to know about its reputation.
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Came here for my child’s 3rd birthday and it was a disaster from the start. No AC in the room for 3+ hours in the heat with a toddler, staff rude and dismissive, refused to let us speak to a manager. When AC finally worked at 2am it smelled like sewage. Told to come to reception at 9am, then told to come back at 2pm — still no apology, no upgrade, nothing. Zero customer service, zero care. Never again.
Wont return
Booked this as a family of 4 - two adults and two children. The reviews were worrying but as soon as we arrived we thought we couldn't see what they were complaining about. It took 24 hours for the problems to arise and we started to see the point. We moved room (supposedly a three level upgrade). I'm our first room, the first thing we noticed is what looked like a detached head board left om the side with four nails sticking through. My husband took it straight back down to reception who couldn't say what it was. We had a double bed, a single bed and then a camp bed. We assumed it would be a sofa bed, but no. There was still a sofa they just crammed a camp bed in too. So you couldn't get to the balcony or move around the room as it was so cramped. The bed itself was thin metal so it moved across the floor, scraping every time our son tried to get into it. I wouldn't have wanted him to catch his feet on those thin metal rails. The air conditioning was noisy that we slept with headphones on. We noticed on trip advisor that others had said this and the hotel had responded that they sent engineers straight out. They certainly didn't with us! I wonder if it was the same room. So we paid another few hundred pounds to upgrade. Everything here is about trying to get you to spend more money rather than investing in good service for what you have already paid. This time a family suite which was supposedly three levels up from where we had been. It was definitely better but still a bizarre set up and not all that different from the first room except for the second connecting room. This room was very small and didn't have windows. As the two beds (the double and a single) were in the main part of the room, this is where the kids were but this meant that they had the balcony and we slept in a room that felt like a coffin with a double bed.
The first night out we tried to go into the wizard cocktail bar. Sign outside said open 4pm-midnight. We went up and they said they closed at 11.30. This was a recurring theme - staff wanting to knock off on the dot so closed early.
The next day we booked a cabana by the main pool. Fine - but not as advertised. We had some service during the day but after 4pm no-one came around.
Later that day we realised something had been taken from our room. We reported it, but just got a message back saying that our "lost item had not been found. Have a pleasant stay."
There is nowhere peaceful here - everywhere is like a rave. The party pool smells appalling and whichever pool you went to, you would have to go out early to bag your place.
We liked the food and thought that there was a good range but the process of the buffet was utter carnage to the point where we dreaded meal times. There are cats everywhere. So far no sickness but I have been carefully checking the chicken and had discarded some pieces as they were undercooked. Same with the fish. Definitely caters to Turkish tastes almost as exclusively, which generally we were happy with but it then was very repetitive when it was almost exactly the same food for all three meals, every day. Booked a recommended "calm" excursion - meal at the beach. So noisy we had to come home (along with the table behind us). Didn't even eat our food.
Guest services are worried about their reviews (note they have disabled the ability to rate on google so don't trust that score). They have been sending their staff out nagging people to write a review. Four times I have had guest services come and ask about our stay. On two occasions I had actually managed to fall asleep and they woke me up to nag me. I have politely, calmly and slowly told them exactly what our stay has been like. They're not interested unless it's positive. Non-front facing members of staff have no time for the guests. We waited for a long time for a lift and then when it arrived the two members of staff already in the lift attempted to stop us from getting on. Really bizarre. Nothing wrong with the lift - they just didn't want to wait for us. All of the above that warranted reporting to guest services, was. But they are not at all interested in customer service.
As at the point of writing we have been to one show. It is so incredibly loud that we struggled to cope. Literally ear splitting. Our (older) child was crying from the level of noise despite loving what was on stage. It was a shame as we felt we couldn't go back as it was sensory overload.
We thought we'd try the small and intimate karaoke bar as we thought that might be calmer. Children screaming around the small area so performances weren't respected. No intervention from staff to keep things moderated so it could be enjoyed by everyone. Smoking everywhere.
Staff are friendly but not helpful. If you don't have any issues, you will be fine. On day 4 and cannot wait to get home. I just want to cry. Our flight isn't until midnight so worried about last day costs.
Unsafe for Families – Traumatic Experience and No Support from Staff
I am absolutely devastated by the experience we had at Granada Luxury Belek during our recent holiday. We have regularly stayed at this hotel which makes this even more upsetting to us, that we have put our loyalty into this hotel and still treated horrendously.
I have never experienced such rude & unhelpful staff anywhere in my life.
What was supposed to be a fun and relaxing family trip quickly turned into a traumatic ordeal.
My young son Ollie was seriously injured on the bucking bronco ride at the funfair on site. This was not an inflatable, but a mechanical ride that was clearly unsafe and poorly supervised. We have video evidence showing Ollie asking for the ride to be stopped twice, only for the operator to laugh and increase the speed instead. Moments later, Ollie was thrown off and badly hurt. Splitting his eye open.
We later noticed the ride was broken, something we hadn’t realised until after the incident — an obvious health and safety hazard. As a result of this negligence, Ollie had to be taken to hospital, where he received stitches. This was deeply distressing and completely avoidable.
What made this so much worse was the appalling way we were treated by the hotel staff. Not one person offered help, an apology, or even basic empathy. We were left to deal with everything ourselves, managing Ollie’s pain and recovery — all in a foreign country where we don’t speak the language fluently. The lack of support was inhumane.
This is a family hotel, yet there was no duty of care shown. We felt abandoned and our concerns were completely dismissed. This entire experience has left us traumatised, and I would never recommend Granada Luxury Belek to anyone — especially families with children.
Please take this seriously. This could have ended so much worse. Safety and compassion should never be optional.
To make matters worse, the on-site doctor – which the hotel proudly advertises – could not speak a single word of English, nor did she offer any real help. We were terrified and confused, yet no one guided us, no one helped translate, and not a single member of staff stepped in to support us.
What truly shocked and disgusted me was that the hotel later sent me a message blaming me for the incident, implying it was my fault. Not only was this deeply upsetting, it was completely unprofessional and heartless.
Throughout the entire ordeal, the hotel staff were utterly useless. No empathy, no apology.
I of course went to speak to hotel staff about this situation and the two girls sat giggling chatting to each other in Turkish (so I couldn’t understand a word they where saying) and told me to ‘take it up with JET2 & Case is closed’ they also said ‘we wish to kindly remind you your child is your responsibility’ - as if I needed this reminder?! Bizzare.
„Top Urlaub im Granada Luxus pur und perfekter Service“
I stayed at Granada Luxury Belek for one week, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The entire resort is well maintained, the pools were always clean and perfectly tempered. The food was a highlight fresh, varied, and consistently delicious. The rooms were spotless and cleaned regularly.
A big compliment to the staff always kind, attentive, and professional.
Overall, a relaxing and high quality stay. I’ll definitely return and highly recommend this hotel.
If you have manners, this place isn't for you!
Awful experience.
Staff were rude and aggressive unless you spoke thier native tongue.
Witnessed a drug deal at the bar between a barman and a guest.
Guests cut in front of children to be served and staff allow it...
Beautiful hotel. Excellent facilities. Reuelly awful people
Had severe food poisoning
Had severe food poisoning from this place, so did several others whilst we were there.
Found a lot of the other guests to be very rude, skipped queues etc.
Hotel is great but service and clientele really let it down. Wouldn't go again due to the reputation for making people ill, which I can attest to.
The food is all for the locals
The food is all for the locals, the people who come here are sooo rude they all look at us English lile we have 3 heads and make us feel unwelcome, the entertainment is okay loads to watch but you need to be prepared to spend more money here as the shops are expensive and I do belive they charge us more for been English as I've heard them charging different rates for different countries..... any English people who want to look out for our own go else were ... its no good here for us English everything is over priced for us and not for them !!!!
KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE
KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE. AVOIDE THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. IF YOU HAVE BOOKED ALL READY HONESTLY THINK ABOUT CHANGING HOTELS. WE ARE CURRENTLY ON OUR 6TH DAYS AND HAVE 4 DAYS LEFT. SO DISAPPOINTED.... BIGGEST CONCERN KIDS SAFETY. 3 ASIAN MEN TAKING PICTURES OF YOUR CHILDREN. BEEN CONFRONTED AND HOTEL WOULD NOT DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. WE WAS TOLD THATS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY. SOME ONE HAS TRIED TO BREAK INTO OUR ROOM SAFE AND HOTEL TOOK NO NOTICE AND RESPONDED BACK THAT WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL NOTHING WAS TAKEN. My children 2 and 4 years old was having a nap, I have the sleep sign switched on infront of the door but the cleaners where banging around and shouting across the rooms to each other disturbing my children napping, I have a voice recording of this! I had to go outside my room and tell them to keep it down but there was no consideration!
What is the point of these lights if even the hotel
Staff don't pay attention to it?
Me and my 2 children was walking to the pool where my kids saw a pirate with two parrots with the photographer, my sons were very Intrested in the bird, the pirate man walked over pulled my son aggressively, my sons said NO!! I picked up my 2 year old who got scared at the point and the man was trying to rush and force them to do things and they both ended up crying so the man got annoyed and walked off leaving me, my wife with two very upset boys
Is this right? This was very stressful and my children was very upset!
booked a pool hut in wonderland for my family
It was from 11-6pm
Service every 15 minutes included up to 6pm
I thought this would be a lovely experience as I can get everything for my children, food, warm milk for my baby and not have to stress about running off to go get it myself. The staff serving us until 4pm was amazing!!! We was having a lovely time
We was told another staff member was coming to take over for the last 2hours like we was promised and paid for. we had no one come serve us for the last two hours
We had to leave early to go sort out kids out
Disappointed.
12.
Guest relations department . We went to go complain and we was offered 10% off the next pool hut if we was to book again . Not good enough
Again very disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
Please contact me I'd you would like anymore information.
This is our 4th visit to Turkey, first time to this hotel. We booked reading people review. Know I can understand why reviews are high. You will be concerned in the first 48hrs whilst your relaxing and will be asking if your enjoying your self? Soon as you say yes, you will be handed a ipad and will be requested to give them a review.
Everything was good, food could be better.
Everything was great. I feel the food could have been slightly better for what you are paying. Kids got tired of similar food every day. Could do with more varieties for the kids in terms of food.
I know people are saying their kids got sick but I took a 4 y/o, 22month old and a 10months old and they were all okay. All used the pools and ate the hotel food.
There was one reception staff who was quite rude. Can’t remember her name but she checked us in. No smiles. Didn’t greet us. Was disappointed.
Kids club is great!
Scammers
I cannot recommend this hotel for those seeking a hassle-free and enjoyable holiday. The in-house holiday assistant, Hoseyin, misled us into booking activity packages that turned out to be scams. He charged each of us, including the children, £30 for a night show, presenting enticing pictures and videos. Upon arrival, we discovered it was a free public fountain show at the Land of Legends shopping center, nothing like the promotional materials he showed us.
The second activity was a city tour with a guide named Ehsan, with Hoseyin’s permission, Ehsan took us to specific shops leather club we agreed the price in € he said we will charge you the amount in TL and charged us 2000TL more when we receive the bank transaction we went back for refund the manager refused to refund new item purchased two hours ago and Ehsan was shouting at us and threatening us if you don’t come back to the car we will leave you, clearly aiming for commissions from our purchases, which made us uncomfortable. After taking our money, Hussain became unresponsive to our calls—a highly unprofessional conduct, especially for a five-star hotel.
When I reported this to Cus service supervisor Melek she was so rude and unprofessional and she said to me we don’t know who is Hoseyin I spoke to my manager and he said if you want you can go to the police
This experience has left me regretting our trip; it will be our first and last time visiting Turkey.

The food was amazing we had no problems. The spa facilities were spectacular. The processes were a bit slow on the pool bar side. It was faster on the lobby side. The dining hall is nice but I was really expecting the rooms to be more luxurious.
