Simple explanations on some confusing terminology

I am not sure I could have completed my thesis without Lani’s support. What made your experience great?
My experience with Grad Coach was genuinely uplifting and motivating. One of the most meaningful aspects was that the Dissertation Project presentation was free, which immediately made it accessible and reduced a great deal of anxiety for me. That openness made me feel welcomed rather than excluded.
The live session on Google Meet felt refreshing and engaging. I appreciated being introduced to new interfacing modules, and I was especially grateful that David Phair and Mathew Courtney took the time to answer all questions thoughtfully and clearly. Their responses felt respectful, encouraging, and grounded in real experience.
I am deeply thankful for the free access to the Grad Coach courses. I spent approximately eight hours watching the videos on how to write a successful Dissertation Proposal, and I truly enjoyed the experience. The presenter was engaging, the explanations were clear, and the overall tone of the videos felt supportive rather than intimidating. I found the content both practical and motivating.
I also loved the library setting where many of the videos were filmed. It created a calm, scholarly atmosphere that made me want to study for long hours and stay immersed in the academic process. One small, constructive suggestion would be to include more older dissertation students in the accompanying videos, as that representation would help learners like me feel even more seen and encouraged.

What is Grad Coach doing well?
Grad Coach is doing an excellent job with outreach, accessibility, and student-centered support. I discovered Grad Coach through Facebook, and I am very glad that this allowed me to finally participate in a live presentation.
I also appreciate the ability to continue learning through YouTube, which makes the resources easy to revisit and integrate into daily study routines. The clarity, structure, and availability of the content across platforms show a genuine commitment to helping dissertation students succeed.
Most importantly, Grad Coach demonstrates real care for students by providing high-quality guidance at no cost. That generosity makes a significant difference, especially for students who may not otherwise have access to professional academic support.

Additional reflections
I am sincerely grateful for this experience with Grad Coach. I had originally planned to spend the day reading for hours, but I was happily diverted into watching the Grad Coach videos and taking careful notes on how to write a Dissertation Proposal.
As a result, I feel less anxious and more energized about the dissertation process. The structure, clarity, and encouragement provided by Grad Coach helped me reconnect with my academic goals and feel more confident about moving forward.
