Everything was clearly explained and I found the whole on-line experience a stressless task. I was slightly disappointed about the level of excess for windscreen replacement cover.

The flow from the comparison website to the actual booking of insurance was seamless. Prices were comparable and it was easy to see what I was paying for.

Will never ever touch this company ever…

Will never ever touch this company ever again. No compassion whatsoever. Disgusting customer service. When buying my car insurance for my car 65 plate, yes I was given a medium price which sounded good. The car turned out to be sold with a false MOT on it and police arrived to take my new car within a week of my buying it. (Not go skippy fault at all) however, I phoned them and explained what had happened, to be told “you signed up knowing the costs involved” total insurance for the year was around £300. They then charged me £130 to get out of the policy, which was no fault of mine (or theirs) but had zero compassion for what I was going through. Just kept being quoted “you signed th agreement” then within one week, I received several emails threatening debt collection on me if I don’t settle the bill. This is after they said they couldn’t give me the final bill when I asked for it due to a payment going through. Absolutely appalling customer service, talk about kick someone whilst they’re down in their luck. Will never use again.

Go Skippy, skips off with my money…

Ordered a brand new Cupra Terramar, which on the day of delivery the dealership- Hortons, Lincoln, couldn’t get started and after 7 weeks had still not got it working. I had insured it on that day of delivery fully comp. with Go Skippy….£523.00 and after 7 weeks cancelled the insurance because Cupra & the dealership couldn’t tell me when I would get the car or if it would be replaced.GoSkippy would not transfer the policy to another vehicle and the cost of termination…..wait for it…£297.00. and the car had never left the compound.
So the moral of the story is, get a car that works, from a dealership & manufacturer that knows what they’re doing and NEVER insure with GoSkippy!

Poor Offering / Service / Can't Swap Cars

I’m in the process of selling my car, but I’ve been told I can’t insure a new one (swap car's whilst in cover). If I cancel my policy now, I’ll lose my No Claims Bonus because I’m one month short of qualifying.

This feels like poor service. Even if it depends on third parties, the overall experience makes it seem like customers are being trapped, especially given how complex insurance policies already are this just makes experience even worst.

Avoid Go Skippy

I think the company needs a dramatic system update.

I have been with the company since March 7th 2026 and had insurance on my BMW for £175 a month. I have decided to buy a different car (because my BWV repairs are becoming more expensive and not worth it) meaning I’m having to change my policy details to a new car. Bear in mind the possible new cars are all much cheaper in insurance (Honda Civic) when making comparison quotes online (£96 per month).

However, Go Skippy think it’s normal to quote two options: 1. Pay over £1000 to change policy and keep my £175 a month payment; or 2. Pay £500 of it and spread the rest so that my new monthly payments are £200+. To me, that is absolutely wild for the system to generate this price, and is MUCH cheaper to pay the £160 cancellation and start a new policy elsewhere for £96.

This may be because you agree to 12-month contracts or it may not be. I’m not sure as I’m not well versed in this type of thing but I do feel if that’s the case then I’ve been misguided into thinking it’s like any other company I’ve previously been with.

And just as a side note, the representatives should not become agitated or borderline rude when I’m needs further explanation of those two options. It’s not my fault you talk fast, use an unreasonable amount of jargon and you’re currently sat in a noisy room of other representatives.

Avoid GoSkippy / Somerset Bridge insurance

Poor Claims Handling & Unfair Liability Decision

Very disappointing experience with GoSkippy Insurance / Somerset Bridge.

My claim involved a clear lane-change collision, supported by consistent statements, damage evidence, and photos. Despite this, the company defaulted to a 50/50 liability decision instead of properly investigating the facts. This felt like a cost-saving approach rather than fair claims handling.

Even more concerning, I was contacted months after being told the case was settled, with the same claims handler now appearing to be involved from the opposing side. This raises serious concerns about transparency, conflict of interest, and how claims are managed.

Overall, I have very little confidence in their claims process. If you are looking for an insurer that handles claims fairly and thoroughly, I would strongly advise you to think twice before choosing GoSkippy / Somerset Bridge.
