If you are looking to use Go Shippo for the UK, don't. Their carrier integrations are missing core functionality that support the QR code printless labels.
We have been in contact with them regarding this issue and they have very flakey support.

Horrible, stay away
Shipped 2 things with shippo first one was delivered and second one is in shipping process. A week after the first one was delivered I got a surprise charge from them, no heads up or anything. They did not say anything when I purchased a label from them that they can charge me more. I would avoid this service at all costs unless you like random charges to your credit card.

I said, if that were the reason, the surcharge would be much, much more than $3.77. Another canned reply came from that, and further conversation wouldn't have been worth $3.77.
Dont use this for your business
Our business used Shippo until the service stopped functioning as expected. When I attempted to cancel, I encountered serious difficulties.
Although I am the verified owner of the business and the person whose payment method is being charged, Shippo’s support team informed me that I’m “not the account owner.” They also would not identify which email address is tied to the paid account, making it impossible to manage or cancel billing.
In my view, this situation raises concerns under U.S. consumer protection laws, including:
Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. §45), which prohibits unfair or deceptive practices, and
The Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act (15 U.S.C. §§8401–8405), which requires companies to provide a clear and simple way to cancel recurring charges.
I’m sharing this to help other business owners understand the potential risks of using Shippo’s platform and to encourage the company to improve transparency around billing, account ownership, and cancellation policies.
Shippo is Great but their Insurance provider is terrible
Shippo is a solid service and way easier to use than Easyship, but their insurance partner (XCover) is awful. It really feels like Shippo just picked them because of a big referral payout without checking their track record. XCover says claims take 3 days, but I’ve been waiting 3 weeks on a $900 claim for a shipment valued at $2700. We already replaced the damaged GPU in the computer, but the process has been nothing but stalling. They ask for four documents at the start, then every week they suddenly ask for a new one they never mentioned before. When you send it in, they put you at the back of the line again, and the cycle repeats nonstop.
On the other hand, we use U-PIC for TikTok Shop and it’s been a completely different experience. Every claim we’ve had with them was actually reviewed, processed, and paid out properly. We usually had a check in the mail within a week or two at the most. The difference between how U-PIC handles claims and how XCover drags them out is night and day.
SHIPPO IS INCOMPETENT.
Using Shippo to obtain better shipping rates is a gamble at best. When supplying accurate weights and measurements into their system, it doesn't mean that their carriers such as UPS or Federal Express will agree with it. In one case, my shipping charge was doubled, yes doubled and recently I was hit with a 25% surcharge. When I queried about this SHIPPO, their explanation is that their system is not set up to deal with these anomalies. Of course it should be. Thus, using SHIPPO is a gamble at best as their inability to correctly input vendor guidelines causes their customers to pay unexpected overcharges.

Long Game Scam
I used Shippo maybe a dozen times and all went well. Prices were a bit better and I could just print labels at home for quick drop off. Then the last package... I measured it, I weighed it, I input everything correctly, I chose FedEx with a reasonable rate and ship time, and I paid. A few days later I noticed an extra Shippo charge when I was super low on funds. I signed in to see what was going in, and inevitably contacted Shippo. They decided something was different and added an amount that made the single package cost more than double what they quoted me. No one would tell me the reason and no one would refund me. So that means they can rip you off at any given time by simply charging your card without reason. I ended up losing money by using them, it would have been cheaper to go directly through the carriers, beause the extra amount they charged me for that packagewas more than I had saved with every combined use. It's a scam albeit relatively well hidden/manipulated long game.

Shippo locked our account without warning
Shippo locked our account from using FedEx without warning. We contacted them and they said it was a known "bug" and that it would be resolved that same day. Four days went by without any form of communication from Shippo, so we decided to close the account and transition to ShipStation. After closing the account, Shippo finally responded saying that it was not a "bug" but rather some kind of anti-fraud trigger on their end. This is the fourth issue that has went unresolved in the 3 months of using their program. Save yourself the headache and look for other solutions.

They flagged my newly open account just for using a VPN, then they wanted personal info you only give banks, who the hell they think they are? If increasing fraud in your industry makes you set up additional steps that upset your customers then it’s YOU doing something wrong. There are plenty of business serving customers with way more critical services and they never request that amount of PII. Just look at your competitors(PS), giving you a run for your money!
And no, you aren’t a bank!

WORST EXPERIENCE IN HUMAN HISTORY — AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If you enjoy stress, insomnia, and shouting “REPRESENTATIVE!!!” at your screen until your neighbors call for a wellness check — by all means, sign up. Otherwise? Run. Flee. There are literally thousands of better options out there. I’d get better customer service from a haunted vending machine.

Shippo is terrible
Shippo is terrible. I got my account all set up and successfully made one shipment. On the second shipment, when going to print the label all of the sudden my account was suspended without justification. Customer support (Alex) then expected me to go through a ridiculous verification process of uploading pictures of my drivers license etc.

They just raised there shipping to $20 a month Pro fee because I did 30 shipments in a month, lol With that said there platform is very easy to use but if you locked in to there Eco System, its hard to get out.

Diego helped me on a Fri. afternoon, and stayed on the zoom with me until we had it resolved, and it was well after hours. Then later even emailed a couple of tips to improved my shipping experience. He was AMAZING!! It made me feel VERY good about Shippo

Exorbitant customs clearance fees
I’ve shipped several packages from the US to Saudi Arabia using Shippo. Their rates aren’t the most competitive, but based on their reputation, I figured I’d give them a try.
Three and a half months later, I started receiving three additional charges for each shipment: VAT, Duty, and something called an “Advancement Fee Duty.”
Now, I get it—VAT and duties are standard for international shipments, and those charges were fair. But the “Advancement Fee Duty” was actually higher than the cost of the shipping label itself. It turns out this is Shippo’s fee for handling customs clearance.
Here’s an example:
8 oz package shipped from the US to SA
Declared value: $10
Advertised cost:
Shipping label: $25
Charges 3+ months later:
- Duty: $4
- VAT: $3
- Advancement Fee Duty: $34 (!!)
No thanks.

Predatory Billing Disguised as Innovation
I expected Shippo’s response to my previous review to include the usual justification for their subscription model – something about "supporting innovation" or "delivering the best possible experience." Instead, they painted a cheerful picture about how they’re committed to saving businesses time and money, improving support, and even "earning back my trust."
Unfortunately, none of this is true. And since Trustpilot doesn’t allow for back-and-forth dialogue, their polished reply gets to stand unchallenged – despite being misleading. That might be a flaw in the platform itself, but either way, I’m writing this second review to lay out the facts.:
If Shippo truly prioritized helping businesses save time and money, they wouldn’t force users into auto-renewing subscriptions disguised as trials. Calling that their “top priority” is disingenuous at best.
Regarding their “improved support,” yes, response times have sped up, but only because they’re using AI. And while the initial replies may come faster, they rarely resolve the issue quickly (if at all), meaning it still takes longer to actually get help.
Their explanation about the Pro Plan trial was especially frustrating. They claimed that “each user is eligible for only one free trial,” and that they send “multiple reminders” before it ends to avoid unexpected charges. Neither of those things were true in my experience. I didn’t receive a single reminder. I wouldn’t have written either of these reviews if that were the case.
Plus, their own statement exposes the predatory nature of their model: “eligible for only one free trial.” After the 30-label limit, which they charge you for, they effectively make continued use of their platform contingent on having a Pro Plan. There’s no real free trial, and no real way to keep using the platform without paying.
As for their claim that customer feedback drives improvement: the steady decline in both service quality and customer reviews over the years suggests otherwise. And their comment about wanting to “earn back my trust” or for me to “reach out directly” is completely at odds with the tone of their actual emails.
Bottom line: If you’re evaluating shipping platforms, this one is taking on water. There are better options out there – ones that offer real value without surprise fees or misleading practices.
SCAM !
SCAM !! I wrote a really good review about Go Shippo few weeks ago after using their service to ship something. However, after few days, I realized that they made me pay way more than the first payment !! They took money out of my account at least 3 different time in the same day !! I ended up paying the same price that I would have in a real post office.

Incredibly Frustrating and Unprofessional Experience — Avoid for Serious Business Use
I had a genuinely disappointing and infuriating experience with Shippo. Despite being a verified government contractor in the USA (SAM.gov registered) and having valid DHL, FedEx, and UPS accounts, Shippo treated me with utter disregard and unnecessary suspicion.
I followed every single verification step, submitted valid government-issued ID multiple times, and even had Stripe deduct $1 from my card to confirm billing. Still — Shippo failed to reinstate my account without giving any valid explanation, hiding behind generic responses and “Stripe couldn't verify” excuses, despite clear evidence.
To add insult to injury, they said “we’re unable to reinstate your account” after multiple polite follow-ups. Meanwhile, I’ve successfully used other services with zero issues. It’s clear their system is broken, their customer support is rigid and robotic, and they lack the flexibility or professionalism to work with legitimate international businesses.
If you run a real company and value reliability, avoid Shippo at all costs. Their systems are outdated, their verification process is flawed, and they are clearly not equipped to support serious business users.

Much better options than Shippo
Used it for six years sending hundreds of packages yearly for my small business. Every year they would change the layout of the integration page for whatever reason. It would make things confusing. They told me it would be to make the site better but whenever I asked them if they could make changes to make the site better based on my user experience, they told me no. Then they started charging a monthly $20 fee, which gets me nothing. After the latest layout change, I switched to Pirate Ship. It's easy to use, they already reached out to me via email asking if there was anything they could help with, there is no fee and the insurance is cheaper. I will not be going back to Shippo and wouldn't recommend them, especially based on the fee.
