Go Dream keeps your money if you don't redeem a gift card in time!

By reading other reviews of Go Dream here at TrustPilot I realize that I am not the only one who find Go Dream's business practice deeply problematic.

On 26th December 2018, we received a cinema gift card from Go Dream worth DKK 299 (about EUR 40).
We tried to activate it just one year after on 25th December 2019, to find that the 12-month expiry date of the gift card was from the date of purchase.

We have no idea when before 26th December 2018 the gift card was purchased, but it was probably about 1 month before.
This means we received a gift card only with about 11 months validity thus already expired around November 2019.

We contacted Go Dream to inquire if this could really be true which they confirmed.

Using this practice Go Dream can put the DKK 299 directly in their pockets with 100% profit.

In my opinion this is highly critisisable way of doing business.

I would definitely warn you to purchase any gift cards with Go Dream!

I am sorry to hear that you have an expired giftcard. That is never a good experience!

If we are contacted within the validity period of a giftcard, we can prolong the validity period. However, we can't do that if the giftcard has already expired.
On all of our boxes the general valdity of 1-2 years is stated, and that you can activate it on our website to see the specific validity date.

I am sorry for letting you know that we can't help you with your expired giftcard though.

Arrogant behaviour from the company…

Arrogant behaviour from the company side.
Have got my gift card as Christmas gift with the expiration date 2 years. 2 years have not passed yet when I wanted to use it from the day I have recieved , but it expited becouse it was bought in November, but given in December. HOW ON EARTH I WOULD KNOW IT?
0 Understanding from the company side and unwillingness to do something. On top of it - not a great selection list of providers. So overpriced and also ARROGANT!

I am sorry to hear that you think of us as arrogant. We certainly only wish to help people have good experiences.
However we can't help with giftcards that have expired. Our giftcards have 1-2 years of validity in which the giftcard owner can get their experience. If for some reason you are unable to do it within 1-2 years, you can contact us and get the giftcard exchanged to another or prolonged, however this can only be done within the validity of the giftcard.

We believe that 1-2 years of validity is more than fair to our customers, and also it makes us able to manage the category we work within.

On all of our giftcard boxes it states the general validity of 1-2 years from purchase. If you have any doubt when the date of purchase is, you can always find the exact validity of the giftcard, by activating it on our website.

I am sorry that we can not help you any further with your giftcard however.
