I’ve done many online exams and Proctor…

I’ve done many online exams and Proctor U is the worst that I’ve experienced.
When you sit for an exam it should not turn into 40 minutes of trouble shooting over a laggy connection – this can mess with a students mindset.

They were okay when Proctor U was an extension for Chrome or Firefox but when they required students to start using “Guadian Browser” the problems started.
It’s clunky, seems to require a lot of resources and has been the source of technical issues in the past.

Also, it seems inappropriate to have to download and maintain a third party browser – and then have it up to the student to troubleshoot their issues.

There are the privacy issues as well considering they run all sorts of scripts on your device with no real consent agreement from the client to do so.
At a minimum it should be better regionalized rather than having to share a bandwidth-hogging video connection to the other side of the planet while also connected to university servers.

Worst company in the world

Worst company in the world! My exam has been rescheduled 11 times in 1 day. Lost connections, language barriers, can't verify ID, can't hear me, camera blocked. Mind you, I have used tons of these proctors and not one is this horrid! Literally withdrawing from school because of them.

Highly recommend for terrible proctoring

If you're looking for a Proctoring experience that prevents you from accessing a test because of an undetermined problem, waste over two hours of your time as incompetent IT people fail to fix, and it results in not being able to take your test that day, this company is for you!

Would not recommend if you are looking for a normal, competent experience.

By FAR the worst proctoring I’ve ever experienced

I was disconnected by my proctor multiple times. I went through multiple proctors and no one stayed. I had to go through multiple room checks and repeat the same process multiple times. I was halfway through my exam and the entire system shut down. I had to wait on the phone for a while and finally I was told that they would reconnect me to my exam. First I had to be reconnected to a proctor. After I was connected to my fourth proctor, I sat and waited for about five minutes for her to connect me to my exam. Finally, I asked her in the chat when she would be able to connect me to my exam and she ended the chat. I have used multiple proctoring services over the years and this is by far the worst one ever.

GARBAGE PRODUCT!!!!!

I was supposed to take an exam today. I had a session with 3 support technicians, and all of them kept telling me to stay calm and that they would fix the issue. After an hour of troubleshooting, I couldn't take the exam because we didn't resolve anything. The staff was very unprofessional, with a terrible attitude. I am very disappointed! I can't believe what an unprofessional experience that was.

unbelievably unprofessional

Due to my university's want to proctor tests, they have listed proctor u as a service. I have utilized proctor u's services since being enrolled at my university and each experience has been terribly awful. They have not been on time for one appointment (I have had over 6 appointments). There always seems to be an issue with set up which takes time away from testing. While it is understandable that no two people are alike, the standard of practice for proctor u should be the the same for each proctoring appointment and it never is. It seems as if each proctor has their own set of rules since there is always a new problem with each appointment. We are required to pay for their proctoring services however their tardiness which can be over an hour should forfeit the cost of the service. They are very defensive when they are questioned on how long the process is, especially if they are late. My last three exams were taken in less than 30 minutes due to their tardiness which did not give me the time needed to complete each exam. Proctor u needs to cancel or shut down their services until they can run them adequately and professionally since they seem to not be able do so at this time.

Absolute horrible

I had to use ProctorU to take an exam. They had me switch devices while trying to set it up and were still having the same problem with my camera. I was passed around to a ton of different tech support people and they all just tried to do the same stuff. My university forces us to use this and I have pit in a formal complaint.

I had an incredibly frustrating…

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with this service. The treatment was unprofessional, and the entire process was painfully slow and inefficient. Employees were rude and dismissive, compounding the frustration. The system was riddled with problems, causing unnecessary delays. Despite waiting five hours just to get into the test, the issues remained unresolved. This experience was not only a waste of time but also highly stressful, putting students on edge and adding to their anxiety. The lack of organization and respect for students' time is appalling. I’ve never encountered such a poorly managed system or unhelpful staff. I will never use this service again and strongly recommend others to avoid it.

Inconsistent rules

I must say that usually I have good Proctor U experiences. Usually it takes 5 minutes or so for them to set up my exam, but this last time it was unbearably difficult. I was going to take my exam in the office (which I've done once now while being proctored before). My proctor had me cover all other laptops (there were four of them that weren't even mine) and she wanted me to unplug them. I refused to do so since they aren't mine and it wasn't even my office. Then, I asked if I could take the test in the dining room (I've taken two proctored tests there before too) and she refused for some reason. So I ended up taking it on my bed, using the back of my calculator as a space to write on. It was uncomfortable and difficult to do. All of this also took about thirty minutes and made my experience massively more stressful than what it needed to be.

6 exams, all negative experiences

I've sat half a dozen exams with ProctorU. There's always an issue. Staff don't speak English. Often spend over an hour trying to deal with tech issues mid-way through an exam because they've logged me off. So stressful when you're already hyped for an exam.

Worst thing ever.

Absolutely the worst app/extension ever. Absolutely impossible to use. I never want to use this ever again. It always take a minimum of an hour to even remotely set up. I have been forced to take all my exams at least an hour later than scheduled because of this. This system is terrible. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Constantly tells me to close any other sessions when it is the only tab on my entire computer. Instead of connecting you to an agent quickly, it needs your full name and email. Absolutely horrible system.

The worst

I've had to deal with ProctorU many many times. Not once has it just gone smoothly. The most recent attempt resulted in me giving up because I cannot even get to the ID verification process. I took videos and photos of my screen. The "live chat" is such a poor excuse for "help" that I finally just gave up and in hopes of the professor being more helpful. The chat bot will NOT connect you to a live person, and if you click "no" when it asks if this was helpful, it will repeatedly give you the same options over and over. If I had any other option, I would use that option. Anything but this.

Avoid @ all costs if you are able!

From their invasive & suspect practices to their home grown ‘browser software’, simply put, this org is straight trash all the way around in my experience.

Actually completing an exam via this proxy/proctor is a roll of the dice each & every time. Worse yet, is their subpar support after their software tanks your exam, if not your machine.

The reality is, this org has marketed their product & services to various institutions, as a ‘better solution’, only to overly complicate what should be a straight forward process, all resulting in the impediment of a student’s progress.

** If you are on the fence between multiple schools, etc., do yourself a favor & limit your choices to those institutions that DON’T utilize Meazure / Proctor U.

Need additional sources/proof? Just read through these reviews and/or search online for related reviews for this org & see for yourself. This org ranks at the bottom pretty much everywhere for a reason.

Garbage company with incompetent staff

I 200% agree with the previous review. This is a garbage company, hiring incompetent people to work and made me to reschedule my exam. They wasted more then 30 minutes to look for unnecessary setting on my computer and claimed I do not have proper computer for exam. I have had this computer working all this time and they screwed my exam up in the setting before my exam started. I rescheduled and they screwed me up again and transferred me to the helpless IT support. They had someone who is working some where in India or Bangladesh to proctor your exam. Not sure if they install any virus in your computer!!!
