A VERY pleasant surprise!!
I signed up for this digitally aided personal image consulting service honestly not expecting much. I braced myself for inane tweaks I could have figured out by myself, or given some "uncanny valley" facial morphing.
I am delighted with the entire analysis of my features and the choice of six enhancements - from which I was asked to select one as the basis for my new and improved look. I never expected this level of personalized analysis and workable suggestions.
For the record, I've been told repeatedly that I have good aesthetic taste. I was considered a talented child artist who won national awards. I have avidly perused fashion magazines and video tutorials, had many makeovers at department store cosmetics counters, and have attended all-day image enhancement seminars given by cosmetics companies. After all the trials, errors, and disappointments, I had resigned myself to making peace with my face. Since my teen years, I've considered myself a "butterface" with no hope of making any improvements short of plastic surgery to straighten out my wonky features - nothing too bizarre, but nothing particularly harmonious either. On a 10 point looks scale, I'd rate myself a 5.5. (If asked to justify my numerical assignments, I'd say 5 is forgettably inoffensive, 6 is marginally cute, 6.5 is cute, 7 is borderline pretty - the average "pretty college girl", 7.5 is celebrity level pretty, 8 is very pretty, 9 is gorgeous, and 10 is that rare jaw-dropping movie star level looks.) The GlowEra enhanced version bumps me up to a 6. Let me be VERY clear - I do not go through life minutely enumerating people's looks! It's just that in the absence of photos, rating the effectiveness of this particular appearance enhancement service calls for some context. "How much of an improvement can GlowEra suggest, if you've run out of other non-surgical options?" is, to me, the whole point of this review.
If I'd only gotten the analysis of my features and six suggested looks, I'd considered this first month's payment ( $19.99 on a special promotion) well spent.
I will definitely look forward to getting more comprehensive guidance.
(Oh, and I'm a woman "of color", if that is a concern to anyone considering signing up. I definitely don't get the feeling that everything is analyzed as a deviation from an idealized Northern European template.)
