GlobalExcel works very hard to find a way not to help you
At the beginning of the year, I had to travel to the USA. On the way back, I faced many problems with different airlines. My last flight was with Air Transat. Because of all the bad luck I had experienced, I decided to purchase flight insurance from Global Excel. It was quite expensive compared to what I had paid for an Air Canada flight.
Unfortunately, I missed my Air Transat flight due to the poor management of my connecting flight. I filed a claim with the insurance company. The process was extremely frustrating: collecting all the required documents took forever. I spent hours preparing flight plans, proof of missed flights, proof of purchase, and I kept sending document after document.
Since I had originally bought a ticket from Florida to Montreal, and then had to purchase another one after missing my flight, I explained that if my claim were unfounded, I would not have paid for two tickets to the same destination at the same time.
However, the company kept making the process difficult. Each time they found an issue, I provided additional proof, and that went on and on, but when all the gaps were filled, they found new reasons to reject my claim. I really felt they never had any intention whatsoever to help me. In the end, they refused to help me, despite the fact that my claim was completely valid.
Honestly, this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with an insurance company. I hope my story saves others money and stress. Avoid this company at all costs!
