I had always had positive experiences…

I had always had positive experiences with online marketplaces, but my experience with Gmarket Global was disappointing.

I paid more than 100,000 KRW by bank deposit for a gift. Later, I discovered that the item was out of stock and had to cancel the order. My money was placed in a pending refund balance, but I could not transfer it because I do not have a Korean phone number for identity verification.

Customer service repeatedly asked me to send copies of my passport and bank information, which I was uncomfortable providing by email. As a foreign customer, I felt there was no reasonable alternative method to receive my refund.

My money remains stuck, and I am still waiting for a solution.

Don't buy from these guys

Don't buy from these guys, most people don't get their orders and even if you do, they sell your information and keep trying to remote access your accounts messing around and trying to send money to themselves and or buy stuff and send it to ther accounts and you won't know until you check your email. Assuming you can still log in, they tried to keep me out of my account but I got to many 2 steps and hurdles to jump through. Also the guy keeps trying to remote connect to my xbox

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Bought tiny tan TMoney for V and Jhope figurines but had been sent 2x RM instead, without confirming if i want replacement or NOT. Tried to contact seller for the return but unsuccessful.
Stay away of this company if you don’t want to lose your money.

Tried to buy another fan from yet another seller. Did the money transfer. Got a text this morning saying they don't have the bed and to cancel the order for a refund they hope to get to us quickly but......

“Good morning, big customer. Thank you for using Daesung Trading. We apologize and are informing you of the cancellation. If you can proceed with the cancellation of your order, we will help you process the refund quickly. Once again, we apologize and cancel the payment directly on the My Page>Order Inquiry page, and if you do not cancel today, please understand that it will be canceled next day (except weekends/holiday) for a quick refund of your payment.”

JUST DON'T USE THIS RIDICULOULY UNPROFESSIONAL AND CHILDISH SITE. You're only wasting your time and money.

Don't buy here!!!

Don't buy here. I placed an order of two items. Then after more than a week of waiting they canceled one item with no explanation. I contacted the support and they said that the item is out of stock. Why even show out of stock items on the website?? So I tried to cancel the order, since paying shipping fee for only one item is just not worth it and it was not possible. So I asked them if I can add one more item to the order, so that they can combine the shipment, but nope that was also not possible. In the end I ended up paying for a 10$! item 40$ shipping fee plus as well as import customs… Terrible terrible customer service, no protection against cancelled orders etc. do yourself a favor and stay the f away from this company

Be aware!

I do not want to give them even one star. I purchased items but never delivered and they does not do any action or customer protection. I did complain a lot but they nothing to do. I just lost my money.

Shop anywhere else but here

I wish I had read the reviews before making my first purchase. I bought 3 items and was initially charged AUD$45 for shipping. A few days later, I received an additional AUD$44 shipping bill. If I known the shipping would be $90, I would have not placed the initial order.
The items were posted via 2 parcels (a set of saucepans in one package and an apron and an eyeshadow in another). If they had shipped all 3 together like their website had stated, I would have not had to pay the extra charge.
Really unethical and questionable company. Would NEVER purchase from again.

Be careful of buying overseas

Be careful of buying. When its overseas sometimes the item is being click delivered even you don't receive the item. Obcourse when you see delivered you will complain to the board where is the item why its being delivered but its still not delivered to you. The one who replied me first its says it still in custom. So im relying to the answer. After a week or 2 i complain to customer service. It says it been delivered a month ago and im too late to claim for refund. So how can you press report the item when their apps is automatically click by itself. And from my tracking report Still in busan post and was received by me. The delivery guy can type anything to the report. I ask the customer service to provide the proof of picture that its been delivered in my door or i sign personally. But they just said the delivery guy will come to me and explain how it delivered. How he will come and explain which i talk english in the first place. He can provide direct the evidence to gmarket. Not coming to me and explain. Bec i dont need explanation i need a proof and refund. What happened here is mishandling of the board and the courier bec some of delivery is lazy to take picture of the parcel. Most parcel that you been report in the board some of the delivery guy take a photo of it and send to you my text msg and or you really sign it personally that you receive. Now they just told me they cant do anything about it bec this apps is automatic. Your payment goes to seller direct. Even you dont received the item yet. If you want refund you ask their approval. Not like other ecommerce you going to ask for further investigation and they will refund to you. Here if your item is lost and mismanage by the board your item is gone. And your money is gone and they will give you 5 percent coupon which is not even half way of the price of the item.

I dont receive the item bec from my apps in gmarket still in busan seehow. How come i will complain that i receive which i dont receive. Im always here in the house. From the board report said "No one open the door nobody pressing the button here im here all day. Its the delivery guy is a lier. Because he know he mishandling the item and he's fault why its missing. How come it will come here to talk to me in korean. You need a police so he need to explain me further where is the item. Its not a joke and im angry. You can tell the delivery guy is lying bec im here all days seating nobody press the doorbell and they will report to gmarket that nobody open the door how come. I wan to refund my money. But they say they cant. Its gmarket fault why they paying the seller first. This gmarket is automatically press delivered if overseas sometimes even u dont received the item. I report within the week i don't received the item. Somebody from this board which you can see that still in custom. And day to another i come to customer service again. She reply i'm to late to ask for refund which the item been delivered a month ago which is totally sucks. Im relying on this Board reply. The gmarket must not pay the seller unless totally received by the seller by pressing the apps received with not automatically click received gmarket must wait the seller to approved and rate the item. So what happened to my item is mismanage by board and by the courier which the delivery guy has no photos to show on you how it delivered and the item is not sigh by me. He just report received by the customer. He can easily type that but lacking is evidence that the parcel is delivered. Now i lost is 50,000 do you think is free its almost my 1 day salary. I WANT TO GET MY MONEY BACK.

Unnecessary, stressful and infuriating checks/cancellations

Bought a phone for domestic delivery in Korea, they took the money and then after told me my account was restricted and I have to contact my bank for authorisation codes and that my order was cancelled. An absolute joke, not only because the process of jumping through these hoops for them is so unnecessary but also because it is not easy, my bank refused to give me the code they requested because they need very specific requests from the vendor. I am so confused as to why the normal banking app authorisation that happens very often with my bank could not have been used, they now have 340 GBP of my money and have told me they have cancelled my order. This is the most infuriating process and I really don't want to use this company again. I do not want to wait however long this whole process takes just to receive a phone I have already paid for and needed soon. I bet this doesn't happen to Korean cards as often, its not right at all.

Been a regular shopper even when…

Been a regular shopper even when not-so-good quality clothes came from the sellers on Gmarket when brought. What disappointed me to write this post is due to delay shipping and not up-to-date updates of where my package is. I emailed the customer service and still waiting for their reply. I don't want to blame the customer service or anyone but I'll reconsider buying products from here.

Im a Korean Australian living in…

I thought I'd mention first that I'm a Korean Australian living in Australia and for many years I've used Gmarket to buy items. I trusted Gmarket and was like the other 8% on trustpilot that have given Gmarket a good review...until recently.

This time I have been sooo frustrated and disappointed I will never use Gmarket again.

One dodgy seller on Gmarket sent me the wrong/ incorrect items (falsely advertised beauty products)and I requested an immediate refund to Gmarket c service.
After 1-2 weeks however the useless response I got from a cs rep was, " ...Tell us how much it is FOR Delivery FIRST and we will give you the seller's return address..." Huh?

Why cant they give me the return address first so I can go to the post office and find out how much I pay extra for the delivery, so I can ship it and show the receipts for proof? Other companies have no issues regarding this why is this an issue for Gmarket?

I am not driving 30mins to the post office to just ASK how much delivery might cost to an *unknown?*place in Korea so that seller reveals his return address? how does that make sense? who does that? What are they saying?

Either Gmarket staff are very bad at communicating in English, don't care what return/refund/ customer service means or they are now a scam.

I am still waiting for them to explain what " tell us how much for delivery to korea first and we give you the return delivery address" means. If your company sent it to me, you tell me.

I want to return wrong items and receive my refund of 100AUD. Simple.

At this rate I doubt I'll even get a refund.

This is such a let down and a bad impression to international buyers. There are other efficient beauty stores out there with excellent customer service- no need to buy from Gmarket not worth your precious money, time or energy.

I ordered flower from gmarket for my sister's birthday. I paid $77 for delivering flowers. When my sister received flowers, she took the picture and text me. It was totally different with picture that I ordered. It looks like $10 flowers. When I asked refund, they said they can't and sorry. That's it.
