Terrible

Terrible. Do not use this company. If you're a fan of the traditional way of booking a hotel then absolutely DO NOT use this company. Complete and utter f@#k around from start to check in. It's 'hotel style air bnb' as far as I can tell and they're just doing away with paying for staff and attempting to operate remotely, therefore achieving 0 guest satisfaction and leaving everything to be desired. I was made to send a selife with my ID and ID of all guests staying and send a damage deposit those a stupid f@#king method. Yet to find out how long it will take to have it return I've read up to 3 weeks !!!! Don't use this company if you can avoid it

This is a horrible company to deal with…

This is a horrible company to deal with and Expedia should be ashamed to be associated with this company. There were extra fees, hidden security deposits and bad management. You needed to respond and provide additional personal ID with pictures and drivers license. The booking is not refundable, and for good reason. You're trapped and can't get out. Avoid this company and booking through Expedia.

Unless you want to send a selfie of yourself and your ID online do not book with GlobalStay and don't think Booking.com will stand up for you. Booked and somewhere in the fine print
(supposedly) was note that a selfie holding your ID was required to be emailed online. Went back and forth for 2 weeks and no concession would be made and no refund when I said this seems like a security issue waiting to happen and no option other than compliance or forfitting at our expense.

Global Stay is fraudulent! Save yourself don't book.

1. Untidy house with pet hair all over the place.
2. They first book, then say you can't cancel without a huge penalty, after that they demand security deposit of their choosing. Otherwise they won't give the check-in details. This is like holding you for ransom!
3. The deposit is refundable after 7 days.
4. They charged $150 from my refundable deposit saying my pet has damaged the duvet with all pet black hair! BLACK HAIR? I provided evidence (sent multiple pictures of my white maltiPoo). Told them so many times that the damage is from previous renters because our dog has only white hair no black hair.
5. All their communication is through one email id which they conveniently choose not to answer. Very very unprofessional!!
6. For no fault of ours they forcefully deducted money from our card!

Global-Stay= Fraudulent Company! Put your hard earned money somewhere else.

It’s being 10 days and they haven’t refunded my security amount yet .

Very deeply disappointed and regret the fact that I was the guest who recently had the misfortune of staying at their property

My experience was nothing short of a nightmare, filled with frustration, distress, and outright anger. From the very moment we arrived, it was clear that something was amiss.

After leaving the property, we were shocked to receive baseless accusations of leaving the room in disarray and hit with additional fees, including withholding our security deposit. This is utterly unacceptable and only serves to compound the anguish we've already endured.

I have mailed them twice and didn’t received any reply yet nor they have initiated my refund .

Please don’t book global stay toronto, it will lead you to a very bad experience.

Don’t book with Global Stay

I just want to echo every other review here. Do not book with global stay. It is a scam. On any booking site the deposit is stated in the small print. Even so if you stay in hotels you are used to having to pay an up front damage deposit. But what they do is use PayPal, not the booking site that you initially book with. They also offer no refunds once you have booked the room so you are then forced into their process. Only then do you realize that your deposit and cleaning fee are taken not on the booking site but through PayPal. So you are then forced to pay them directly in cash. Their rules then say you will get your deposit back within 7 days. Actually it’s in or on the 7th day. Meaning they have your deposit, they determine whether you have damaged anything, they then pay you your money back when they want. It’s fine if it’s their rules, but what isn’t fine is that they do not clearly state upfront what their rules are so once you have booked you find yourself mired trying to get your funds back or even know when you might get them back. They are totally unhelpful and do not offer any information other than on the 7th day you will be refunded. I would never have booked with them if I had any idea that I had to go off of the booking website where at least you can be assured that you have recourse if this sort of issue arises. This business is a scam as everyone has said. No matter how nice the rooms are or how conveniently they are located this is not a business you want to be engaged with. They are just terrible. They will add stress to your trip and no amount of convenience is worth it.

It's a scam company, stay away from them.

The Review posted on the hotel reservation website that sells GLOALSTAY is false.
It states, for example, "We were able to stay there safely even with small children.
In reality, families under the age of 18 are not allowed to stay at the hotel.
When I made a reservation on AGODA, I asked if I could stay with my child, who is only 17 years old; I told them that if a 17 year old could stay, I would like to make a reservation.
When I received a confirmation of my reservation and actually went to the accommodation, I was refused accommodation because my child was 17 years old.
It was AGODA that sent the reservation confirmation.
GLOBALSTAY blamed the customer for the fact that AGODA sent the reservation confirmation, which was the customer's mistake.
We arrived at the facility in Calgary in March at 5:00 pm, and various emails were exchanged.
GLOBALSTAY did not answer any phone calls and responded by email, which took a considerable amount of time.
In the end, we had to stay at another hotel after 10 pm.

Please check the GLOBALSTAY website.
The group company link at the bottom takes you to another company. I checked with that company and they said they are not a group company or anything.

This means they are a company full of lies.
This is clearly an act of fraud.

Further to my earlier negative review

Further to my earlier negative review, it’s now taking more than the two weeks to get a security deposit returned to us.

With so many options available Global Stay should NOT be one of them. Worse than some of the ‘airline’ stories out there…

1 star is too many.

I don’t even feel comfortable giving 1 star. They left us with nowhere to stay cancelling our reservation with 5 hours notice claiming that they didn’t have all the information that they needed and took a new reservation in our place. When we called to sort it out, their agent hung up on us and now the call goes straight to answerphone. The cell number they provide just goes to music right away and no one ever picks up.

Booked my reservation and I was skeptical because they go through 2nd and even 3rd party host. When I started asking questions to make sure they were legitimate- all of a sudden there isn't actually a home available where I booked. Now I have no place to stay. The worst!!!!

Literally the worst company to rent a place for vacation

Literally the worst scam company to stay, we stayed in a apartment in Lima Peru, they asked for a $200 deposit which they never gave it back to us the credit card because of "damages in the apartment" which makes not sense, they justify the damages as obvious cleaning things. Also, the check in was terrible the password of the lockbox was not correct and we spent almost 1 hour trying to figure out the password to get in

Literal Scam

My partner and I booked a weekend stay in Toronto but they did not make it clear on the ad that you had to be minimum 25 years or older to book. When we went to cancel, they tried charging us an extra $1,000, then refused to offer us any form of refund despite cancelling several days in advance.
Do not book through here, it is a literal scam.

DO NOT BOOK

If the following is too long to read, just take my advice: DO NOT BOOK with Global Stay. I wish I had read these reviews before I booked through Hotels.com. Unfortunately, the check-in procedure and booking requirements weren't supplied until after I made the reservation. If I had known that I would be required to send a selfie holding my ID, that I would have to pay a $500 deposit in advance, and that I'd receive two separate documents via Google Drive, detailing the parking and check-in procedure, and then all the other things that I have experienced as a result of this reservation, I would not have made this booking.

5 pages of check-in information and parking directions! You have to short-term park, go in to the building and buzz someone who is in another unit, and they remotely let you in to the unit you booked. Once I retrieved the fob and keys from the kitchen counter, I went to park, where I discovered that someone was already parked in the designated stall. After a series of phone calls with Global Stay, I parked in visitor parking until they eventually provided me with another designated stall. The unit was tidy upon arrival, but once I got settled, I discovered a broken wine glass, another wine glass with lipstick marks on it, and dishware with food residue that the cleaning team had put back in the cupboard for use. You have to take out the garbage yourself and there is a tip jar for the cleaning staff. There was a component on the bath tub faucet that was broken, which rendered the capacity to switch from bath to shower dysfunctional. Eventually I got it to work, but there were more phone calls and emails to Global Stay. They sent someone to inspect the shower while I was at work one day, and when I returned to the unit that evening, the shower was completely useless. When I emailed them about it, they said they couldn’t fix it until after I checked out; so I wasn’t able to have a shower for the last day of my stay. I contacted Hotels.com and Global Stay about all of this, and I was told their Financial Manager would get in touch with me.

I still have not heard from the Global Stay Financial Manager. I have been on and off the phone to Hotels.com about all of these issues and even they haven’t been able to get a hold of anyone at Global Stay. I have been waiting for the $500 deposit to be refunded, which they say happens within 14 days after checkout. Now, they’re accusing me of damage to the unit from my stay, which is why they haven’t released the $500. I travel a lot, and I have stayed in a variety of accommodation types, and I have never caused or been accused of causing damage to a property. In fact, I was so concerned that they would accuse me of something like this that I was extra careful to follow all the instructions in their binder. I can guarantee that I did not damage anything. This is a false and dishonest claim, and I can only hope Hotels.com can reimburse me or my credit card company can reverse the charge. Please do yourself a favour and DO NOT BOOK with Global Stay.

The absolute worst experience of my…

The absolute worst experience of my life, I’m not even sure where to begin. Person formal there was absolutely no customer service. Ambiguous parking measures. Stupid verification processes that were completely unnecessary which led us to receive a $100 parking ticket because we did not know where to park. Furthermore when we got into the room we were informed that there was an $80 cleaning fee. We were the ones responsible for washing our own towels and our own dishes. If we did not comply with the rules, we would be charged. Furthermore, cheap that they concocted together, had a curtain rod for the shower that did not stay and fell thrice on my head as I was showering! They do not provide soap, shampoo or conditioner for your stay, you will have an extra person come in and they will charge you an extra $10 for not informing them. Their rules are absolutely asinine and arbitrary.

Horrible experience

Hello

On Thursday Nov 2,2023 I was booked in a condo at 12 York St.   in Toronto with 5 of my friends through your company.

We arrived by train at approximately 3 pm ( check in time). We followed the instructions to access our key in the locked key box cafe.  We proceeded to the elevator with all our luggage only to find out the key fob didn’t work.  We spoke with the security staff who informed us to contact the owner.  Of course we did not know the owner.  So we contacted a number on the reservation.  The gentleman on the phone said he would contact the owner and get back to us.   He did not get back to us so we contacted him again.  He stated that the owner was on his way to resolve the problem.  This is the number we called 1 (647) 494-8715.  After an hour of sitting in the lobby with all our luggage still no one showed up.  We called again.   Again we were told he would be there.  Another 20 minutes passed and nothing.  We called again but now we have no answer.

We then called another support number +1 (866) 739-8212. They attempted several times to contact the management of the condo to no avail.  We asked security to let us talk to management.  While security was on the phone with management they told us that this was a fraudulent transaction and we were to call the police.  They said the owner said her apartment was not rented out.
So we were working with the other support team to find us another accommodation.  I can’t stress enough how stressful this situation was.

Approximately an hour later the security came to us and said we can go to the apartment but they would have to buzz us in and out .   We went up to the apartment.  We have now missed our dinner reservations and are late for the concert we came to Toronto for.   We have spent 2 1/2 hours in the lobby .   We definitely were not getting the help we should have .

We were not feeling comfortable at all with this situation.  We didn’t know if we were really to be there or were we trespassing.    After numerous calls to this support team we asked them to find us a new place to stay for Friday night.  It now is 7 pm and we had nowhere else to stay for the night so we decided we would stay in the apartment until morning then hopefully have new accommodations for the remainder of our stay.

We left the apartment to go to the concert ( late) with no dinner.   Obviously this had a negative effect on us enjoying our concert.  The support team had found us new accommodation ( see attached)   We stopped on our way to the concert only to find out there was a problem there as well. They had the wrong room booked and management did not have the correct keys.

We proceeded to the concert and had my friends daughter a travel agent working on this situation while we were at the concert.

During the concert we received 2 phone calls from unknown number.  My friend answered but said I’m sorry I can’t hear you  and hung up    She then received a text telling us we had to leave the apartment. Needless to say this interaction was not pleasant nor professional.  It caused us a great amount of stress .  We left the concert to call this number back.  Owner? Manager?  Who knew who he was ??????    He was beyond rude to us when we called back.

At that moment we knew we would not be staying at this condo.  So for the remainder of the concert we worked at finding 3 hotel rooms for the night.  We were not sure we would even be allowed to return to get our luggage.

We returned to the condo and security did allow us to enter to retrieve our luggage.   This is at midnight.

This experience  was a complete disaster.  First I would like an explanation how this could have ever happened.  And second how do you plan on resolving this issue for us? I have had no response from global stays

Dishonest and Greedy.

Dishonest and Greedy.
We had so many problems with our stay including feces in our bed sheets. 3 towels for 5 guests, no soap or shampoo for the showers, no laundry detergent, no hair dryer or iron, cooktop and hood fan did not work, many outlets did not work, the kitchen cooking equipment was less than basic. We contacted them many times during our stay and nothin was done. The company is now charging us for damage that we did not cause and planted a bag of garbage in the garage and is deducting money from our security deposit.

No pets, shady checkin process, bad communication.

On Expedia they claim to allow pets. In reality they do not. Their customer service is clearly managed overseas by people who don't really understand English. 5 back and forth emails, 5 different people, not one of whom answered the previous email adequately. I can imagine that often, if not a majority of the time, people stay at one of their places without major issues. They have decent ratings on Expedia. But I can also attest to the crappy customer service and think you should pay attention to all the bad reviews if you think any of those issues might be relevant for you. They also have a shady check-in and deposit process. Avoid the trouble if anything else is similarly priced.
