I purchased an Ebike (I will make a…

I purchased an Ebike (I will make a separate review about Engwee) from Glide and Gear. Had a few problems with the bike even before using it and I can say that the company, specially Sam did really well to resolve my issue in good time even going outside their Ts & Cs. Received the replacement bike in less than a weeks.
Can’t give a 5 star because they stumbled in a very easy thing to sort. The faulty bike included 2 spare brake pads but the replacement one did not include it. Instead of simply sending me them they preferred to say “that this was something that was included in some of the bikes” instead of simply getting a customer that already went through a bad experience sorted. For me that is hard to understand. I obviously blame Engwee as well but it is the retailer responsibility to sort such a small thing. I presume they have loads of customers and a “non completely positive review” is better than sending 2 pairs of brake pads, ok then. Could be a lot better.

Great customer service & Great advice.

I reached out to these guys regarding one of the bikes they had for sale which I wasn't sure would be the correct fit for my wife's height. I sent an email and a very quick response came back with the information I needed. I then phoned the shop and spoke to another one of the team, who helped me with some advice over frame size and usage. Based on the information I changed to another bike on their website that better suited my needs. After another couple of emails sorting the finer details with Sam, I made the purchase. The bike arrived within 2 days (as I chose the 85% build, as i live next door to a certified bike mechanic who built it for me) which was amazing. Great customer service, great advice & no pressure selling. Thanks G&G team

Glide and gear were great

Glide and gear were great! Good communication and helped with my cycle to work order. Delivery took a bit longer than expected, but they warned me before confirming the order so can’t complain there. Would recommend!

Terrible terrible terrible

Terrible terrible terrible. Don't use for cycle work work . Complete mess 2 weeks later they have taken £1300 and I have some accessories.... No contact via phone when we try , lies and the bike came damaged so returning has taken a week and they have given the company the wrong address .
They posted a helmet which was £150 with no delivery instructions do fed ex left it on the doorstep and it was stolen . Glide and gear won't take any responsibility and say it's in their terms and conditions. .. funny I didn't get sent any .... FedEx have actually been great and said they will refund the company if they fill a form in in they won't . Offered me a £20 voucher ..... Honest it's terrible..... Don't do it

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely regret that it has been frustrating for you. We acknowledge that things did not go as smoothly as they should have, and we want to clarify a few points while taking full responsibility for where we fell short.

Regarding the helmet, FedEx confirmed delivery, but unfortunately, it was stolen shortly afterward. Once our claim with FedEx was approved, we immediately processed a replacement for you. We understand this entire process took 1.5 weeks, which was far from ideal.
As for the bike, we recognise that it arrived damaged, which is something outside of our direct control.
However, we immediately arranged for it to be collected and replaced. The delay in the collection was due to an unfortunate human error—one digit was mistakenly left out of the address provided to the logistics company. While this was an honest mistake, we understand how frustrating it must have been, and we deeply regret the additional delay. Once the issue was corrected, the bike was collected and replacement processed in short order.
Throughout this, we have consistently been in contact with either you via email or your partner over phone, so we do not agree that we failed to communicate. However, we understand that the overall experience was disappointing, and for that, we truly apologise.

Finally, we want to clarify that we have not accepted any money from you and are yet to receive the £1,300 as payment to us is still pending from the Cycle to Work provider.

We regret that your experience did not meet expectations, and we will take your feedback seriously to improve our processes. If there's anything further we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best follow up and customer experience

I bought a ebike from Glide & Gear by a few months ago but it was sold out after I placed the order and the manufacturer was out of stock too. Sam of the fulfilment team contacted me immediately. They discussed with me and gave me the best arrangement. 2 months later, I got the eBike and some gift from G&G. Although it is a long wait, I know G&G tried their best to keep me happy and the best customer experience.

Thanks Sam and G&G. I have a eBike to commute now :)

Great communications from the offset…

Great communications from the offset gave me a lot of confidence. Sam handled the order through Cyclescheme with ease, explaining all the steps thoroughly to me. Delivery through their partner courier BJS was flawless and I'm more than happy with my purchase of the Engwe L20.

Fantastic company to deal with.

Fantastic company to deal with.

I used my works cycle 2 work scheme and had an amazing experience with the staff.

We discussed options over email, we found a bike that suited me. From giving the voucher to getting the order processed took 24 hours it was a fantastic experience and I’m so happy I choose this company.

I approached G&G about a month ago for…

I approached G&G about a month ago for a specific bike that was not in stock in the UK. Other supplier's were having the same issue. The staff at G&G were so helpful. It was by far the best CS I'd experienced. A month later the bike is still not in the UK and despite this the staff have kept me updated along the way and even tried to poach one from a supplier abroad. I have waited this long so I'm going to wait a little longer. The effort they put In to help me, it would not sit right if I bought it elsewhere....

Thank you Sam for you wonderful CS. And ill keep my fingers crossed it'll arrive in the UK soon

Amazing service

I wasn’t fun to a bike at all until I saw the ENGWE x26 that got me attractive however I had no clue about it until I heard fro glide&gear company that actually advised me and taking me to step by step to the process until I finally got my favourite E-bike to be honest their services are cool and I’m very glad at the end highly recommended 5*

EVO STEP THROUGH

Glide and Gear has given me first class customer service. From answering my pre purchase questions to moving along delivery to several post purchase follow ups Akhilesh has been exemplary.
My Evo bike has proved to be what i expected, it gives a welcome boost on hills, it is too early to comment on range although it is noted the range indicator shows a swiftly decreasing range which then improves after turning off and on when the range swiftly increases, I would have liked a slightly higher top gear ratio.
