Is Giulia Portofino a scam?
I ordered clothing and sandals from Giulia Portofino after viewing the products on their website. When my order arrived, the items were materially different from what was advertised. The blouse was a completely different design and was made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex, despite being presented as a much higher-quality garment. The sandals also differed significantly in appearance, materials, and overall quality.
I contacted customer service the same day I received the order and provided photographs comparing the advertised products with what I actually received. The company acknowledged there may have been an error, but instead of honoring its advertised refund policy, it repeatedly offered partial refunds of 50%, then 60%, and finally 70% if I kept the merchandise.
When I insisted on returning the items for a full refund, I was instructed to ship them to a fulfillment warehouse in China at my own expense. I obtained a shipping quotation from DHL, and the return shipping alone would cost approximately €100.
My experience was frustrating from start to finish. I do not believe the products accurately reflected what was advertised, and I was disappointed that obtaining a full refund required paying a substantial amount to return the goods overseas. Based on my experience, I would advise consumers to research the company carefully before purchasing.
