SCAM - never received my FORT

Ordered this as part of the initial kickstarter (in April 2021) and NEVER RECEIVED IT! I have emailed many times with no response. Has been super frustrating and is bad business. Do not recommend to anyone.

If I could rate 0 stars I would

If I could rate 0 stars I would! I paid $200 plus back in 2021 when they did the kickstart fund and have yet to receive. I email them once every few months, they never respond or say that I can get a new color, then I don't hear anything back. This is a scam! I'm not sure how they are able to still sell products.

After reading the rest of the negative…

After reading the rest of the negative reviews, I feel outraged that this "company" is still allowed to try and sell their product. I am one of many that backed this company on kickstart IN 2021, paid over 200+ dollars on the fort plus the accessories to never receive anything. Just a fedex tracking number saying label created. I have reached out to the only email they have available probably 20 times with no real response. The last one I got when I asked for my money back was a generic email saying I could place a new order, but they are out of stock. HOW CAN THEY STILL BE IN BUSINESS??? This is a joke!!! Please do not buy anything from them.

I would give 0 stars if I could

I would give 0 stars if I could. Customer service is absolutely abysmal. I emailed in April, twice in May, and three times in June asking where my product was. They claim to have shipped it, it has now been a month and FedEx says a label was created but has not been brought to a facility to be scanned. Save your time and money, go with a trusted playcouch business.

I feel scammed.

I ordered the fort, the blanket, the strap and a light on November 9, 2021. I received the fort. It is okay, but I would not have paid $499.00 for it if I had seen it before I bought it. With the discount for buying the fort, I paid $81.08 for the accessories. It is now July 19, 2022 and they still have not been received. I have e-mailed and kept getting "we expect to ship in 2-6 weeks. I finally e-mailed asking for a refund with no response. To add insult to injury, they send me ads in which the fort is a lot cheaper and they still have accessories on their web site. If they still don't have them, why would they take orders? If they have them, why don't they ship them to the people who paid for them months ago.

Really regret purchasing this product

Really regret purchasing this product! I ordered this for my son for Christmas, and one of the pieces came with a broken zipper. I emailed customer support, and was told they would ship replacement in 6 weeks. This all started in November, and here we are in May with an unusable $500.00 fort. Everytime I try to check on the status of the replacement piece, I am told 6 more weeks. Very disappointed in Fort and their lack of care for their customers.

Ups & downs but kind/helpful customer service

We originally bought the fort as a backer on Kickstarter(which let’s be honest there are always risks in crowdfunding a business). I went ahead and still backed because the product was an amazing idea! There were some unknowns and rocky moments. But I knew going in there were two potential outcomes: 1. I may never see the “investment” or 2. I’d get an awesome product for my twins 2nd birthday. I jumped on the bandwagon of getting a refund vs paying freight express. But after seeing posts from others I finally reached out myself (rather than just continue to wait or continue reading angry customer reviews__ which let me say I do understand why people are upset 100%)

I emailed Conor at Fort and wasn’t sure I’d get a response based on what others were saying. BUT! About 1 day later I received a response and after discussing things and having questions answered found a resolution! I can’t speak for others but I DID receive great customer service. I’m not sure if it was Conor himself or someone on his behalf but they were kind and quick to make sure we were happy with our fort kickstarter backer purchase. One month later our Fort arrived!!

Now about the actual FORT:
We put the Fort together with no problems! And my 3 yr old twins LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! They have played with it almost all day everyday since we opened the box 😂 The materials seem durable yet still super soft and NOT like the “sticky” pleather most kids foam furniture/mats have. The magnets are strong enough to hold together structures decently. We are 100% glad to have taken the gamble on Fort kickstarter.

Companies (especially new ones) can have problems arise. Sh** happens and sometimes it takes a bit longer for things to get fixed and play out. I’m not sure how I would have handled the situation if I were in their shoes. I’m happy with the Fort that arrived and my twins are happy with the Fort (or as they called it “squishy blue big blocks” 😂😂) so it was worth it for us.

Should be prison for Fraud.

TOTAL FRAUD. ITs been 330+ days and I still haven't gotten the 2 forts I ordered. He got 3 million in kickstart funds and has failed to fill those orders, and fails to refund any the money. The says if you pay another $99 he'll get you the product. Except lots of people are reporting he is just taking that money too.
Should be in Prison for Fraud. Look at the BBB report first.

Conor? More like CONor.

I wish I could give this 0 stars - or worse. I don't even know where to begin as the whole thing is a nightmare. I was one of the first 1,000 backers to back the FORT. I have yet to receive one and refuse to pay the extra $99 in order to even receive the product I paid for. It's absurd that we have been asked to pay more because the owner mismanaged funds from the beginning. Customers that paid the $99 are getting defective products. (ie: magnets not properly secured, the wrong type of magnets, seams falling apart, etc.) We were told FORT would be made in the USA, the half in the USA and half in China & then only made in China. We were promised tear free covers, break away zippers, etc. He even mentioned in his product safety that if he didn't want his kids playing with it, he wouldn't want ours to either. Then mentions how he worked "obsessively" to make sure that the magnets don't fall out. We were promised that magnets would be sewn in place with nylon thread with the magnet in a special pocket and that the leather is super durable. Customers received FORTs with exposed or loose magnets or even the wrong type of magnets all together (magnets that repelled each other so the product did not work as intended). Some people even had magnets on the OUTSIDE of their FORT. Some were glued together, no casing & smaller than a quarter which does not pass the small parts tests to be CPSC complaint. The FORT box contains ZERO warnings about small parts or magnets and even the FORT itself has NO warning tags. The FORT owner brushed off the magnet issues like it was no big deal, hasn't seen this issue before, blah blah etc. He was constantly deleting comments from threads in the FORT group on Facebook and even just shutting down the group because he couldn't handle the uproar over the magnet issues. He failed to deliver a child safe, magnetic toy. Another thing promised was break-away, color-matched YKK brand zippers. FORT claimed they were "YKK zipper snobs!". Zippers on the final FORT were none of those things. When brought to his attention, he said that if they'd like they can BREAK OFF the zipper tabs and just use a paperclip if you need to remove the covers for whatever reason. Insanity. Onto the durable leather, we were promised wipe-able, waterproof & pet safe covers. This fabric was supposedly tested by a third-party to verify safety for use with children under the CPSC. Not even 24h after a customer received her FORT did it have holes in it from her cat's claws which were not even sharp & had been trimmed. Other customers received products with faulty seams falling apart before they were even put on the foam or falling apart just a few months after use. The tag from an actual Fort seems to suggest that this was only tested for flame retardant or only as furniture and not as a toy. There’s not even a magnet warning for medical devices. If you check out the FORT's trademark under "Simulated Wood Grain Design LLC" (what a random company to make a children's product...) is registered as FURNITURE and not a children's toy. The FORT Facebook page clearly states that the company is a TOY company. I believe he is avoiding the CPSC by tagging the FORT as a furniture item and not a toy. Even in a podcast he has openly admitted to messing up. The FORT website was updated quietly in October to update policies. I could go on and on and on about all the issues with the company as a whole. Do not buy. Run away and never look back. Find a better product on the market that isn't FORT.

Love it!

We received our fort 6 days after ordering and have really enjoyed it for our 2 and 3 year old. Most builds are not quite sturdy enough on their own but we build them against the couch or wall and our kids have a blast. Our thistle was missing a single magnet, which is not a huge deal but a bummer for the price. Overall we really love it and it’s a good quality product.

Don't buy from this company!

Don't buy from this company! Unsecured magnets in a product that is marketed for young children is only one of the big problems that this product has. Any safety concerns that have been brought up to the company have been addressed with ridicule and dismissed as the complaining of angry people. This company has taken shortcuts and cut costs in such a way that one of the best selling colors (heron) is practically unusable.

Conor - The Bait and Switch

Conor of Fort promised us a safe toy and it's labeled as a couch. He won't answer emails. He won't refund. He ships faulty products. He ships the wrong colors. He is recalling packages with Fed Ex after they're shipped. It's a huge mess. He misused Kickstarter money and paid for daycare according to HIS OWN WORDS. Us facebook moms didn't make that up like he claimed. He doesn't share compliance testing and these products are not safe. Don't buy!
